I like the "I'm Greg Ovens and I will see you on the next one" for the outro
Simple, down to earth Just like Greg!
You don't need a "gimmick" Greg, that's why we watch you so faithfully.
amen
I’m sure if Mr Fowler is reading he’d appreciate, based on Mr Oven’s face when during his visit he insisted on grace, that I’m not at all religious either but our Greg is certainly closer to God minus any gimmicks or catchphrases. We like things pure in these here parts and they don’t come purer than this ;)
Damn right. A Greg in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Real tho!
for real. stop catering to popularism and branding. it has been degrading your quality to be honest
"I'm not always a perfectionist, but I know how to survive" - Greg Ovens.
, I,,, AM AT to, but,,,, I don't seem
Great saying
This should me his saying
Wise words for sure
If I wasn’t already past the age I would use this as my senior quote for high school
I don't know what it is but you're one of the few channels that if I see a new video pop up I end up watching the whole thing. You're a likable dude.
because he is who he is and he doesnt try to be something that hes not. what you see is what you get. I love it
"See yah on the next one" with the Thumbs up is a solid ending catchphrase!
Yep. Agreed.
well, the ovens out. see you on the next one.
"I'm not always a perfectionist, but I know how to survive." Says the best survivalist still perceived alive.
lol thanks Nathan
Well said!
@@OvensRockyMountainBushcraft I like Fowler , he makes good videos , seems like. Great guy, helps you edit etc, but every video it’s like he’s tryna brand himself in your vids , if I wanna watch Fowler I’ll go to his channel , I come to yours for you Greg , cheers from Calgary
hes not *the best* survivalist but he is very knowledgeable intelligent and entertaining.
Hay Greg my brother who has the same name as you is in the hospital. If you and anyone else who wants to please pray for him to live. He is sick with liver failed.
I'm Greg Ovens, Stop and relax like nature wanted you to. Hope you use that you make us all remember that nature is our home no need for wall or roof in a smart mans/womans thinking. I will quote my grandfather and father "man can survive anywhere."
What a beautiful baby companion... Glad he’s safe overnight
Pro tip: Don't set up a hammock higher than you're willing to fall.
Corporals Corner
I'm so sorry for your loss. May your friend rest in peace Greg. I love this channel man.... It's one of my favorites. You've created one of my top vicarious get away places.
Findlay will outgrow that backpack in no time at all. He needs his own hammock.
greg, you're such a genuine and kind person, and im grateful to have a chance to see what you get up to. im so glad you hooked up with zach and you're doing this now. stay safe out there, not that you need to be told, but yeah. you're a treasure.
Findlay is such a cute cool pup. Can’t wait to see him big and fetching your fire wood. You & Findlay stay safe.
I love this channel so much. “That’s just how I roll”. That’s how I roll to Greg lol!
Santa!
Best channel on UA-cam guy deserves a Netflix series
I think “oops, I did it again” would be a great way to sign off! Because you show us your good and not so good results, and you never pretend to know it all. I LOVE this channel!
Oh thank you!
"Don't feel sorry for the hatchet. It has no feelings." 🤣
same lmao
Using a hatchet in deep soil without rocks is not the problem. Straightening a rolled edge is not difficult, and the metal sharpens easily. Problems arise when the edge is notched by a rock and too much metal is lost in remaking the edge.
yes lol
@@jamesellsworth9673 agreed! Personally, wouldn't use a hatchet for this unless I didn't have anything else.
😂😂
Those knives are designed by worlds champion in throwing knives, he won like 7 times in a row. And he holds record in furthest throw, i think like 60m. And he is from the Czech republic, you would love it here Greg :) all the best, man, all the way from central Europe.. :)
haha only 5 times my friend ,)) thank you
Greg is the Uncle we all want to spend a whole looooong weekend with. Thanks for another fun video! Big hugs to Findlay! I’ll call him Little Fin for now. 😘
Great video, the “I’m Greg Ovens and I will see you on the next one” is already perfect! Love ya Greg!
You always talk about being safe which is a great lesson so I’ll suggest, “Stay safe in the bush”.
👍
Yea stay away from nasty yeast infected bush.
“Don’t feel sorry for the hatchet it has no feelings” 🤣🤣
Thanks Greg for this one. Keep the puppy safe and warm out of the teeth of predators. Stay both safe.
Greg this has made me start searching for local experts in my area to learn on foraging. Thank you for such great videos
"See you on the next one, guaranteed!"
No I see u right now
Greg PLEASE do an overnight survival video when Findlay is learning or has learned the 'go get firewood' command. It would be awesome to see!
Hell of a good dog you have there!! I’m Greg ovens see you on the next one says it all my friend! Don’t change! Love a guy who follows the instructions.... that he has made up himself then at the end you go ah that’s what that’s meant for... we all do it!
This man is salt of the earth 👍🏼
I shared your UA-cam site with my grandson... he laughs and is glued to your every word... at least he is filling his mind with things he can use..
I appreciate your channel...
Looking forward to your next video...
the "..." makes this comment seem very ominous
I love the simplicity my dude, you just let everything flow like butter on hot toast
Throwing knives make such a satisfying sound when they stick
Benefiting from Greg's woods lore is always a treat, and entertaining.
I love his videos i wait for every upload i hope u make another movie keep up the good work greg
"I'm not always a perfectionist, but I know how to survive" (Greg Ovens).
No doubt! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have never said this before but I think this is an example of perfect content.
"I poked my eye" is perfect. Nuff said. Thank you for the inspiration.
congrats on your channel growth Greg, well deserved. Remember finding your channel after discovering the 30 day survival challenge and didn't have much more than 100k....1 million coming soon!
For an outtro you should say
“I’m not always a perfectionist, but i know how to survive”
Yess
This. Man. Is. So. Wholesome
No way.... This is a collision of world's!! AceJet is by Adam Celadin an absolute legend, world champ knife thrower and cancer survivor AND he filmed all the way through his treatment. The guys a beast! 2 of my favourite channels cross over!! 🤘🤘👊
On nodding onion, I can readily identify that plant because the shoots are round, unlike most grasses. Also if you pinch it, you'll know FOR SURE.
I was shocked how you used the hatchet and I was just mentally telling myself it's not really a big deal when you turned and said it's not got feelings!🤣🤣you funny bugger!👍👍👍
I could probably watch an hour long video of those knives hitting the pole, so mesmerizing
That pup is absolutely gorgeous
I think so too!
6:28- "Watch it fall" 🤣🤣🤣
8:58-"Watch it break"
Very cool brother! Thank you for testing ,))
Hi Adam :)
best channel on UA-cam and its largely due to your authenticity my man! keep it up!
I appreciate that!
Thank you Greg for all that you do on here, I've been shielding for over a year now & your videos keep me sane. Big Love mate
The surname Finlay (also Finley and Findlay), is the name of a branch of the Scottish clan Farquharson, and derives from the Scottish Gaelic fionn laoch, Translates to "fair hero."
thats cool thanks man
Greg has insane genetics. A beard like that, along with a full head of hair at his age is crazy. And he's tall. I hope this man had kids.
he's got some great european genes that's for sure. He grows a beard in a day, lol
@@mosiac- European power, baby!
At least 90% of guys with a full beard like that are literally balding by their mid twenties. Greg is truly superior.
Don’t forget the gorgeous eyes
@16:00 "And don't feel sorry for the hatchet...it has no feelings" gave me a good chuckle
Hi Greg! I just want to say thank you! I love your channel not only because it's extremely informative for people. I love the way you act with the nature and your editing and all of that. I trust you in every word you say and at the same time you make me(us) laugh even if it is serious! Keep it up! Cheers
Catchphrase for Greg : That's all folks, Oven's Out! 😎🤘
👍
:)
“May your Ovens be warm...”
I like your channel. Pure Bushcraft, no sponsored content and no Hubbabaloo about how it should be done. But a lot of things to learn brought by a man that knows his craft. I like that. I like the way Zach edits your video's, much better than him editing his own. Don't think you need a special goodbye for the video's. Don't be like everybody else. Greg Ovens is Greg Ovens., and that's enough!
"Im not always a perfectionist but I know how to survive". . I stealing that one for sure.
Catchphrase: ‘Ovens Oot’
I’m aboot it
X
Lol just thought the same something like "Ovens n Out"
We don’t say Oot. We say *****Oat.*
Oat and Aboat. It’s called Canadian Raising.
Catchphrase - "Right on!"
I'm Greg Ovens and we'll see you on the next adventure. Until then, keep on surviving.
Sayings and slogans suggestions for you... “Ovens On” and “Ovens Off”, (as in “Oven’s ON” and “Oven’s OFF”), at beginning and end of your shows. Thank you so much for yet more info on foraging. Much appreciated.
End of the night catchphrase. " Well folks, this Oven's off for the night. "
Ovens', but exactly what I was thinking.
"I'm Greg Ovens, thanks for watching, but I guess if you're watching you already knew that one"
Love this one
LOVE the jump cuts when you're throwing the knives, very entertaining. Always love these videos
If I was lost deep in the Canadian wilderness , and you were with me I know we could survive anything. Great videos.
Signoff: "Your brain is the best tool you have. Never stop learning."
I don't think he needs a gimmick or a slogan but I agree with you about the brain
Get findlay up in that hammock
Best wilderness channel hands down.
You already have the perfect catch phrase that is fit just for you mr. Ovens "see you on the next one"👍
catchphrase to end each night "I'm bushed out, see ya"
You nailed this Greg ! My suggestion is “See you on the next round, Finley Ovens signing out”
Awesome Video Greg! We need another 10-30 days survival with you and Zack Again!
"May the FOREST be with you"...would be a good catch phrase.:)
"I'm Greg Ovens and remember don't get your socks wet "
You know you enjoyed a video when 22 minutes seemed like five minutes, and you are frustrated because it seemed like five minutes instead of 22 minutes.
Thanks for the heads up about needle tea, you're the first to talk about it, I've been watching UA-cam for years, Thanks again Greg stay safe!
Went to click the bell and I already did it before. Just an example of the quality of Greg's channel!
you n zack should do a colab with 'camping with steve'
Greg’s Outro could be “Greg ovens, over and out” or “Try going outside for once”
I love every video Greg! You should definitely publish a book of wild edibles. If you can make it waterproof and pocket sized with clear photos that would be awesome 😁
I love the wild foraging.
Repetition is always welcome
How about "Another day done in the Oven" for the catch phrase.
Catchphrase: "Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft, grab a fork I'm done with this one!"
Great information! Just one more reason why I love watching Greg Ovens!
You crack me up Greg. Thanks for a new video! It was quality and enjoyable.
I think “give ‘er a go” is a gimmick you already do. Maybe as an outro you can say “we gave ‘er a go and now I have to go”
“There’s been cougars attacks here recently.” “I know there’s at least six cougars.”
*proceeds to sleep in the same area*
here also :(
Findley is just beautiful and that hammock looked very comfy and warm
Geez Greg you could do extreme tours and people would line up. Awesome knowledge, great skills, down to earth and love how you take care of Findley!
"Foods done, I'm done, Turning off the Ovens"
Honestly not a fan of the movie clips constantly being added in there. These videos convey such a pure, natural atmosphere and suddenly there's some cringey quote from a 90s movie popping up like a bad Family Guy cutaway joke.
I mean, if it helps getting / keeping more viewers, I understand.
Might be a good topic for a straw poll. Maybe I'm alone with this opinion, but I can't imagine this channel's audience being 100% psyched about the clips.
You have a great sense of humor. Love your videos
I love the little movie clips you add in on the videos it just adds to the fun of watching the video 👍👍
Another great one Greg! Good work as always. You just said a good catchphrase " I'm Greg Ovens thanks for watchin', but I guess if you're watchin' you probably already knew that one. See you on the next one"
"DO YOUR RESEARCH!" Love your videos Greg! Keep it up
You're a "Real" guy Greg, that's what I like about your videos. Im always looking to see if you've posted new videos. Im also waiting to purchase your Ferro rod. Hope your family is well. Peace and keep em coming!
The pup makes it's so much better
Glad to see you with good company! 🐕👍4 eyes better then 2
Outtake: Make someone's day great.
New catch phrase: "im greg ovens, over and out...in the bush until next time"
I absolutely LOVE what you do i try and do the same but my brain always above and beyond and i end up making a mansion out of sticks and stones, my favorite thing to do is weave saplings in between trees to make fencing/walls also looks really neat and wavy
Value village couch cushion for a pillow! What a legend
