it is definetly a hidden gem many discovered finally through many reaction channels do this :) The story is awesome and 2nd season is about to start next January. Can't wait!
Vinland Saga is an amazing history based manga, the story is based on real actual Norse sagas of that period, the author has studied so much of actual Viking history and stuff and the attention to details is amazing. The show focuses on the story of Thorfinn Karlsefni, a Viking of that period (don't look up or read too much stuffabout the real actual Thorfinn since it might spoil what happens later in the manga/anime) Vinland is actually a name given by Leif Eriksen (a Viking and also the first european to come to the american continent), he named North America that way when he first discovererd it. The story of the manga as a whole kind of tells the story following that event and everything that was happening at that time focusing on some characters of that historical period
@@stefanijovita1640 Vinland Saga is more historically accurate with its characters and the time period they are acting in than Vikings is. Which honestly isnt that hard but it just shows you how much Yukimura researched and cared to make it as faithful as he could while still telling the story he wants to tell
even hema (historicl wuropean martial arts) youtubers like skalagrim praise the show on how god its made, yes its saagas from that time and the main characters are way stronger than normal human, but its not supernatural its just awesome and really well made
This anime is by the same studio that made AOT. It is a very similar show to AOT in that it is dark, deep, well written and well adapted. If you're enjoying AOT, you will enjoy this too.
@@renebismarck8265 just because it doesn’t utilize circular story telling like AOT doesn’t mean the writing doesn’t rival it. I have a degree in this, looking at it analytically they easily rival one another
About Vinland Saga: (no spoilers here) it's a historically accurate show, more or less, the weapons, the historical events, the clothes, etc. Obviously it's not 100% accurate, but it's accurate enough. Warning: it's a slow paced show, not like AoT, it's watched with other mood, slowly chewing the events. AoT it's faster, you want more and more, not even chewing. It's like a very delicious fast food (AoT) vs slow good Italian home food (Vinland). I think the best show to watch for you after AoT it's Death Note
(Reply may contain some minor spoilers). What you notice about both AOT and Vinland saga is that the pace the story goes at seems to match the maturity of the protagonist. I would say Vinland Saga season 1 was also quite fast paced, as it covers Thorfinn during his teenage screamy whiney anime protagonist years. However season 2 (when it releases) will be slower paced as Thorfinn has grown up a bit. On the other hand, for AOT it took 4 seasons for Eren to mature a bit, and now season 4 has been a lot slower paced with many episodes which are almost entirely dialogue but still leave you biting your nails due to the complex morality the characters have to juggle.
The setting has elements of historical accounts of the era, and some of the characters have historical origins, but no it's not terribly accurate. Not that it needs to be though, as it's still a fantastic anime, in both senses of the word.
@@zepher664 the anime makes his own history using some existing characters but vinland saga has the most accurate vikings represenntation above all movies or series who just show the vikings has crazy rockstar with axes
@@flacsomtodosclas2165 we have no real clue what would actually be accurate. All these events weren't written about until about 200 years after they happened. 1,000 years is a long time for much of anything to survive, and the Vikings themselves didn't really write any records Heck, even Leif Eríksson landing in North America was considered to be no more than a legend right up until 1960, when the Norse settlement at L'Anse aux Meadows first started being excavated. Like I said though, there is no need for it to be accurate, and it isn't. I would agree that it's pretty historically authentic though, just not accurate.
Vinland Saga is awesome …definitely one of my favorites. Yeah this is an adult anime. It is focused on war , slavery , revenge , faith …. you will love it

If you already liked vikings then you’re 100% gonna love Vinland Saga. This is a top 3 favorite anime for me, quite possibly my favorite of all time too.
If you like Vikings you'll probably love Vinland Saga, it's basically "Historical Fiction" it takes huge inspiration from real historical events but with the show's original characters thrown into the mix. The quality of the animation is also through the roof.
At the time when season two for Vinland Saga was teased (NOT the trailer), I wasn't all that big a manga reading; preferring the visuals and sounds to accompany any first experience, but I eventually gave in and read the manga content after the end point of the season 1 anime. I now have the entire hard-cover lineup and have read through it at least twice... I can't wait to see you react to it 😀
This is one of the most dark Manga I ever read. The first bit still tries to be slightly light hearted but it really just becomes super dark later Don't know about how much you would like the anime but the Manga is great
If you want another opening song by Survive Said The Prophet, their song "Found and Lost" is the opening for the anime Banana Fish, which has some amazing openings and endings as well.
Vinland is what Leif Erikson called Newfoundland (Eastern Coast of Canada) when he first sailed there, hundreds of years before Columbus sailed to the West Indies.
vinland saga is like my third favorite anime af all time and the only thing out right now is the prologue so if the prologue is regarded as one of the best in the anime community amazing imagine how much better it's gonna get
Vinland Saga is just that anime bro, the BEST anime I've ever watched my entire life, it's just my shit. The music is also too great! The 2nd ending, "Drown" by milet literally brought me into this anime.. and also, best manga ever for me personally
91 days: Recommendation for a "one and done" 12ep anime set in the Prohibition that gut punches you like a Korean revenge drama... opening credits the guys' voice is like a guy doing what you'd expect from one of the Vinland Saga end credits singers, end song is melancholy lounge music with only a vocable on top (the full song might have more lyrics) The dub is as good as the sub (we watched with dub which is rare for our family). Heads up that the last episode is non-linear which throws a lot of people, and watch the post credits on it.
I think you will like Vinland Saga but it is still ongoing. It's second season will be released January next year. You might want to time it based on that. And if you are looking for animes that are complete storywise, I recommend to you Parasyte (Horror, Sci-fi), Zankyou no Terror(Thriller), Devilman Crybaby (weird, violent, gory, vulgar but dark fantasy) and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (fantasy). You can also check out Parasyte opening. It's good.
Ooooh, Zankyou no Terror, such a great and underrated show, it deserves so much more recognition. I remember watching it while it was still ongoing… Damn
Vinland saga is currently my favorite anime and number 4 on my all time list. Just like you said I never new I needed a Viking anime until I watched the first episode when it aired. Even though Vinland saga is still fiction it’s based on real historical stories, events, history, and real world situations like religion and slavery. My favorite part of Vinland saga is the Art both in the anime and manga.
The original comic for this anime was released in 2005. My guess is that the directors of The Last Kingdom and others used this comic as a reference when creating their videos.
You might want to check Girls Dead Monster and Zhiend albums. Girls DeMo was formed for the anime Angel Beats! while Zhiend for the anime Charlotte. EGOIST is a band that persisted till now even after the anime(Guilty Crown) it was formed for ended already.
Demon Slayer is a bit childish. It is aimed at teenagers. It's enjoyable by anyone, but if you prefer more mature shows - Vinland Saga and Overlord are for adults.
I agree! Demon Slayer is probably in my top 3 anime if I am still a teenager. But now I don't feel the same anymore about shounen anime. AoT & Death Note are the only shounen still on my top list.
Overlord can be dark but its still aimed towards like late teens. Vinland Saga is more for young adults and adults in general. I believe the themes in Vinland Saga would be hard for like 13-16 year olds to understand. Not everyone im sure but just in general
@@thorkagemob1297 I agree to disagree on Overlord account. There's no metric that we can measure so it's good to know that there are other opinions on that matter and he probably should consider that as well.

This anime is about the true story of the discovery of North America by the Vikings. It features many historical events and characters who actually existed like Leif Erikson, Thorfinn Karlsefni, and various kings.
Vinland saga is such a great show! Since you like vikings you're going to love this. It is great from the beginning! It just hooks you right from the start and just gets better and better. I love all the openings and endings of this show!

Really recommend checking out some sport anime openings/endings. My favourites are Kuroko's Basketball, Haikyuu!!, and Run with the Wind. They all have pretty epic songs.
I think I would like it a lot, besides being more realistic and not having that fight of magic powers common to shounen (which pleases those who are not a fan of anime), it has an excellent story and it is one of the shortest, because it only has 1 season so far.
Vinland saga is a great 2nd anime, not only becouse it has an amazing plot, and the mc is similar to Eren in a sense, but also it matches the animation, unlike death note for example

Your reaction is what got me into Vinland and now I absolutely love it. Thanks man!
This is one of the most dark Manga I ever read. The first bit still tries to be slightly light hearted but it really just becomes super dark later
Don't know about how much you would like the anime but the Manga is great
Vinland saga has one of the best anime adaption lol
I'm surprised you didn't namedrop Adele when listening to Ending 2. That's immediately who I was reminded of as soon as I first heard that song.
this first ending hits you other way when you know the backstory srsly
you have to watch it
that second ending gives me chills!!!! such an amazing show
If you like them both (the ED songs), you have to see them collaborate on The First Take!!
Yessss! Please watch this!!!! You will love it and we want you to share that
I’m in love with Vinland saga op and endings
Fun fact: thorfinn, the protagonist of vinland saga is a relative of the viking mc, like, the eleventh generation after him
If you want another opening song by Survive Said The Prophet, their song "Found and Lost" is the opening for the anime Banana Fish, which has some amazing openings and endings as well.
I have been promoting a Banana Fish opening ending reaction and I'm hoping Survive Said the Prophet will hook him in
He's reacted to the song Found and Lost on his other channel, G.O.T Extra
@@animeamm ooooh! I’ll have to go check it out! Thank you!
Vinland is what Leif Erikson called Newfoundland (Eastern Coast of Canada) when he first sailed there, hundreds of years before Columbus sailed to the West Indies.
Check out op of "Saga of tanya the evil"
The fact that Vinland Saga in its opening mentions Newfoundland and Labrador. XD its so cool to me as someone who lives there haha
I recommend the guilty crown openings, they really hit different.
When i first watched this show an heard this opening I was in the zone an just vibed and jammed with this. I can't stop listening to it now!
vinland saga is like my third favorite anime af all time and the only thing out right now is the prologue so if the prologue is regarded as one of the best in the anime community amazing imagine how much better it's gonna get
the band on the 2nd opening is recommended too, Man with a mission, one of the bands with a unique gimmick and vocal
Vinland Saga is just that anime bro, the BEST anime I've ever watched my entire life, it's just my shit. The music is also too great!
The 2nd ending, "Drown" by milet literally brought me into this anime.. and also, best manga ever for me personally
91 days: Recommendation for a "one and done" 12ep anime set in the Prohibition that gut punches you like a Korean revenge drama... opening credits the guys' voice is like a guy doing what you'd expect from one of the Vinland Saga end credits singers, end song is melancholy lounge music with only a vocable on top (the full song might have more lyrics)
The dub is as good as the sub (we watched with dub which is rare for our family).
It's good.
Paraystye is one of my favourite animes! along with a super different and amazing soundtrack!
Ooooh, Zankyou no Terror, such a great and underrated show, it deserves so much more recognition. I remember watching it while it was still ongoing… Damn
yus highly agree with him reacting to Parasyte.
One of my fav OSTs from it is, Next To You.
Oooo I'm excited for this!!!
Vinland Saga is made by the same studio who made the first 3 seasons of aot. Wit studio really knows how to make amazing manga adaptations.
Demon slayer is about action not story.
@@dominikmagnus Overlord has dark moments but generally it's not really that gritty and dark. I mean, they practically concentrated on lizard sex for a whole season. Anime that he would enjoy are stuff like Vinland Saga, Death note, Re:zero, Parasyte, Steins;gate, and stuff like that.
Definitely worth watching and I definitely believe you will love it. Ive gotten really into Viking shows recently Im watching the show Vikings and then I started watching Vinland saga and I just finished Vinland saga the other day which makes sad because it's only 24 episodes (24 amazing episodes) and I want more. Luckily we are getting another season.
Re:zero has some awesome openings and endings as well (some of them by Myth & Roid, the Overlord openings and endings band)
Honestly the first Ed is 1 of my favs. It especially hits after watching the show and reading the manga and seeing everything thorfinns been through and where he is now
If you liked the first opening react to Banana Fish openings and endings a couple of the songs are the same band
Yesssss 100% agree they are incredible
vinland saga is one of the best things i've ever watched, seeing how you reacted to these, i think you're gonna love it as well
Vinland Saga is great. It is surprisingly historically accurate. While a lot of characters are of course made up, the historical back-drop is really good.
100% worth and 100% for you bruv.
You need to watch Vinland Saga, It has a Beautiful Story & Really Well Written Characters! It's 2nd Season is gonna Air in January 2023!
Also Do Checkout All JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Openings 🤧
All Jojo openings are 🔥🔥🔥
Yes, all the music for Jojo is epic and so varied! The OSTs are where it truly shines imo but even the openings have legendary status.
Its the type of anime which is nobodys type... till they watch it, after which it forcibly makes itself your type by sheer genius writing.
Just the perfect amount of chaotic weirdness nobody ever knows they need in their life till they taste it for the first time.
I can honestly say I will be checking it out and JojJo! 💯
@@GOTGames Great! 🤌
Last ending very, very beautiful, I really like that
Winland saga is a must watch masterpiece! And a second season coming soon iirc, so gonna be real good!
This show deserves every praise it gets. Yes, you should watch it.
Because it's both an amazing song and because the expression on your face is likely to be hilarious, "Chikichikibanban" by QUEENDOM from Ya Boy Kongming!
watched this show when it was coming out weekly now that it’s on Netflix it’s getting the recognition it deserves
You should definitely watch Vinland Saga, I also love all things vikings related and this anime blew me away! It's absolutely a dark, gritty anime with a lot of emotion!
Vinland Saga is basically Vikings or The Last Kingdom as a high-quality anime. 11/10 would recommend.
Bro i can Literally SWEAR ON MY LIFE that this show IS.THE.SHIT
From capturing the manga accurately to the voice acting and the music
This show's just chef's kiss Brilliant
YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS SHOW IMMEDIATELY
IT'S SEASON 2 WILL RELEASE THIS JANUARY
i've watched the anime and am up to date with the manga as well, this is 100% worth watching. i also loved Vikings and this show plays after the events of Vikings, so it's perfect to watch after
Vineland saga!!! Lessgo,
Re zero ops and endings are worth considering to checking out ✨✨✨✨✨
This anime is about the true story of the discovery of North America by the Vikings. It features many historical events and characters who actually existed like Leif Erikson, Thorfinn Karlsefni, and various kings.
Finally I have been waiting so much for this I love this show
Vinland saga is such a great show! Since you like vikings you're going to love this. It is great from the beginning! It just hooks you right from the start and just gets better and better. I love all the openings and endings of this show!
"is it worth watching" words can't describe how amazing this show is
I've read the manga for years and was really happy with the anime adaptation, can't wait for season 2
I do love this anime so much!😍 And op are so powerful!
The anime is based on the saga of thorfinn karlsfanii the man who tried to create the first north American colony in Canada but it eventually failed
Survive Said The Prophet are definitely one of my favourite JRock bands. Also yay, you're a fellow Arseling! The Last Kingdom is one of my favourite historical dramas.
Really recommend checking out some sport anime openings/endings. My favourites are Kuroko's Basketball, Haikyuu!!, and Run with the Wind. They all have pretty epic songs.
Run with the Wind appreciation!! I would love for him to listen to the openings too!
@@laurainathunderstorm More appreciation is definitely needed for our Chikuseisou boys!
ヴィンランドサガのOP・ED、リアクションしてくれて嬉しいです!!
アニメもめちゃくちゃ面白いので、是非見てもらいたい!😆🔥
Milet is amazing
Drown is sick, had it on my playlist since this aired
She appeared on the first take too, absolutely goated
Found her first though Reiwa when i was listening to Man with a Mission, and ive loved all her music since. Probably my favorite female artist
That first opening is the reason why I watched the show and I love the show. You should check it out!
Rezero op reaction
I think I would like it a lot, besides being more realistic and not having that fight of magic powers common to shounen (which pleases those who are not a fan of anime), it has an excellent story and it is one of the shortest, because it only has 1 season so far.
Vinland saga is a great 2nd anime, not only becouse it has an amazing plot, and the mc is similar to Eren in a sense, but also it matches the animation, unlike death note for example
i agree
Man i just want to see your reactions on every episode of Vinland Saga. Its definitely worth watching. Since i watch it in 2019 it began to be ny favorite of all time. Greeting from Serbia 🇷🇸
Please do react to Re:Zero openings and especially the endings. I'm sure you'll love them. It's a dark show as well, so I'm sure it'd be to your tastes
I finished this anime yesterday.
It's some of the best fiction I've seen with some of the best characters in fiction I've ever seen also.
If u like Attack On Titan and are looking for an anime of similar taste and worth, this is definitely it.
