@ I did go and say that about my last camera, the Lumix G9 so I got a wait and see but my powers out so low light camera sounds like a dream come true, and I can get sharp images with the g9 when the lightings good, and it’s more weather proof, but I have to test the same iso and F stops to see if it can out right replace the lummi given all the features Plus the post had two fans with it but after the G9 I really like 30fps and never record more than a few minutes run and gun, and I have the G9 as a second cam if needed for over an hour recording But I think having a DJi pocket plus the Sony is all you need Plus a drone and 360 camera on your setup Much love you’re hella funny!
Damn This is such a nice wedding film. Love tha pace change and feel to it. Epic work. After seeing your work and hearing your review I am considering getting a ZV-E1 for my video work and relegate my A7iii to photography.
I NEVER want to hear anyone else refer to this camera as a “vlogging” only camera. It’s a PROFESSIONAL camera. You are proving that! The quality of that wedding reception from the image, editing, sounds, & everything else is 🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥 I’m enjoying my Zv E1. Definitely still learning and messing up a lot with iso and what not but I’m getting the hang of it. It’s worth learning because the the intelligent auto mode won’t give you the full capability/quality this camera has to offer. Great video 🏆
Good hint with the smartphone fan - but it doesn’t work, as those fans a typically a bit to big to fit inside the backside of the screen opening on the ZV-E1..
I'm on the fence about what to upgrade my A7C to, an A7C II, ZV-E1, or A7 IV. I have an FX30 and A6700. I would like to use the ZV-E1 for green screen, but that dual native ISO gain at 12,800 is crazy; 3,200 and 2500 are a much better gain levels for green screen and adding cinematic light. I'm not a fan of using ND filters, and when you crop on the ZV-E1 you're at less than 4K upscale to 4K, but that can be good to soften lenses. Most cheap lenses have vignetting and doing an APS-C gets rid of that, and APS-C wider field of view than on APS-C due to in-body lens corrections. When you crop in 1.5x you get half the pixels and way better rolling shutter. When you crop in 2x you get 1/4 of the pixels, so 33MP 3:2 sensor is about 24MP 16:9, which then turns into a 12MP ASP-C sensor, which will still have much larger pixels than a 26MP 3:2/20.1MP 16:9 sensor. The question is, where does that low light performance actually matter?
Hey, video idea for this camera. Put it in the weebel s3 mounted to a tripod with a 18mm lens and see how it does in that tracking setting. I would think with the weeble doing left right up down the camera would handle the zooming and avoiding the stretchy parts on the sides of that lens. Walk around and go back and forth, stuff like that. If all of that works together youd have a heck of a set up! Thanks Vu!
I have an FX30. I am going to be doing a wedding for a friend. I am worried about low light during reception. Do you think the ZV-E1 would be a good choice as a full frame to use on gimbal during reception? And can I mix crop and full frame in the same video? Thanks. You are a funny dude! 😀
People obsess too much about the gear. I'm happy to shoot with 40+ year old lenses. While the zv-e1 is now my main camera my second body I purchased recently is a humble Oly OM-D EM1 MKII. Photo centric camera realeased in 2016 that would still be enough for me today to shoot anything. The stabilisation is better then in zv-e1. It has phase detect AF that's is competent. Great colours and decent low light for a micro 43. It was dirt cheap and I'm quite amazed how good the video looks.
My only hesitation(I say hesitation even though I just got it) is the lack of dual cards. But think i'll stick with it, just dipping toes in to video along side the a7R V
Breakdancing sharks OP. Seriously, Vu, hard to concentrate on the camera's performance when I am gobsmocked by your cinematography and editing. Did you have a second shooter for Joycelin and Andres wedding???
My ZV-E1 manages 90 minutes of battery life during 4k24 H.265 10-bit 4:2:2 recording on a V60 SD card. No overheating. I wonder which wedding ceremony takes longer than that.
That fan won't fit but your idea is valid ( also the magnetic part worries me) my simple fan hack works and in talks with a big parts company do make a cooler
@@nVuFilms Well if you find one that fits tell me so far not found one that made sense but again not even that sure if active (so needs to touch the lcd part) transfer is needed. But research is being done... its a problem now but i am sure the people now searching in china will find some parts to fit :)
I was looking for Tilta fan cooling system made for Canon R5 and maybe we can use it for the sony ZV E1, but I have no measurements to know if it can fit the sony. bummer!
Seriously was considering the R8, but the zve-1 specs make much much more sense. Oddly UA-camrs have been hurling insults at this camera and none of it seemed to make sense. “DON’T BUY THIS CHEAPER A7S3 IF YOU WANNA BE A PRO!” It was ridiculous. Thank you for taking it to a professional job and showcasing the results. Thank you for the honest review.
It is a great camera, but what about the single SD card slot? That is the main reason I would not shoot a wedding with it. Can you do external and internal recording simultaneously? Maybe external 4k and internal fhd simultaneously? That would solve the overheating concerns as well. Thank!
@@nVuFilms I keep coming back to rewatch that wedding video to get inspired. You did an amazing job, i think I watched it more than the couple had lol... where did you the music from?
Du ma let's i tell you something as a viewer. Because of the "new" preview video feature on UA-cam, when I scrolled down to your video, it's actually auto run for 2 seconds before I can click on your video, so just push your introducted back about 5 seconds.
hi vu! so im interested in timelapse on a slider, i wasnt to do "move shoot move" as i do long exposures.. a lot of motorised sliders that do this use a shutter release cable, but afaik the zv-e1 has no multiport.. do you know if the usbc port could trigger the shutter? or is the only method over bluetooth / wifi? thanks
ive spent way too much time researching this.. sony say it is possible to trigger shutter via usb-c but they dont / wont support it. but a. third party could. as far as i can see, the only way is tpo modify a compatible bluetooth remote with a port like a 2.5mm jack, and link that to the slider. then the remote triggers the camera.
im between the a7iv and the zv-e1.. im loving this zv-e1 spec, but im also loving the resolution of the a7iv, ergonomics for better cooling and clear image zoom / being able to crop in with aps-c lenses. they both seem amazing in low light. i do a fair amount of timelapse, slider, hyperlapse type stuff, so cropping in with dynamic stabilisation is not ideal if for some reason the frame drifts halfway through. from your experience, do you think the zv-e1 is the way to go?
One major drawback which goes against the EV1 to use it as a primary camera is the single card slot. I am also on the same fence as yours while looking for the upgrade to the full frame, especially for videos and the ZV-E1 ticks most marks compared to the other top contenders like A74, Canon R6 and the Nikon Z6II/Z7ii (only negative point is no in camera 10 bit recording). But my dream camera would be the Nikon Z8 if the pocket allows. Z8 is the one camera which ticks most mark and is future proof for more than a decade with the in camera 8K recording and the proven Nikon build quality.
The only benefit of a7iv over zv e1 is dual card slots, 24 megapixels, viewfinder and no issues w overheating (maybe regular size hdmi) The zv is better in every other way
Great video as always! Lots of truth here. It’s a great camera. Like you said any camera is great right now the limitations are just users at this point.
Hey Vu! Just wanted to say thank you for spending the time to make these helpful videos. I hope to one day shoot weddings and get a lot of inspiration from your films. I don’t mean to sound harsh in any way, but I wonder if you could be more careful with some of the words you use…for example the microphone metaphor you used in the beginning makes some people uncomfortable and I wouldn’t want any kids out here to take it inappropriately. I like when they hold a Lavalier mic in their hand… so dumb. I have decided I’m not buying anymore cameras for awhile…. That and I just bought a $2k wildlife lens so I’m broke
Damn you really swaying me into buying this little thing hahaha! Lived in MD and DC, moved to Florida almost two years ago. IDK if it could survive this hot temps all year round, maybe if I buy one of those loser fans 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was watching a UA-cam d-bag review the Panny s52x the other day and they interrupted their video with a 1.5 minute rant about how bad the ZVE1 is...Hasn't even tried the ZVE1 so THEY DONT KNOW, then went on about all the specs of the s52x which don't mean a freaking thing but to about two or three people (WTF is BRAW anyway), and BTW, They were definitely on the Panasonic "Japan" trip so definitely got the camera and lenses on their "long term loan" program. Total load of BS..ZVE1 and S52x two completely different cameras
so i read this camera can also overheat in timelapse mode! when i say timelapse, i mean proper timelapse, in photos mode.. the video timelapse has restrictions. the manual states it can get hot during this setting.. but the manual for the a7iv also says this.. has anyone out there done any timelaspses in photo mode and can report if they had any issues?

I like when they hold a Lavalier mic in their hand… so dumb. I have decided I’m not buying anymore cameras for awhile…. That and I just bought a $2k wildlife lens so I’m broke
Lol
Damn you really swaying me into buying this little thing hahaha! Lived in MD and DC, moved to Florida almost two years ago. IDK if it could survive this hot temps all year round, maybe if I buy one of those loser fans 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol
sir i am a cinematic photographer i am confused whether to buy fx30 or zv-E1 sir plz tell me which one will be better
Get a6700 if you are photographer
@@nVuFilmsnot photo grapher I am cinematicgrapher

I was watching a UA-cam d-bag review the Panny s52x the other day and they interrupted their video with a 1.5 minute rant about how bad the ZVE1 is...Hasn't even tried the ZVE1 so THEY DONT KNOW, then went on about all the specs of the s52x which don't mean a freaking thing but to about two or three people (WTF is BRAW anyway), and BTW, They were definitely on the Panasonic "Japan" trip so definitely got the camera and lenses on their "long term loan" program. Total load of BS..ZVE1 and S52x two completely different cameras
Yup
so i read this camera can also overheat in timelapse mode! when i say timelapse, i mean proper timelapse, in photos mode.. the video timelapse has restrictions. the manual states it can get hot during this setting.. but the manual for the a7iv also says this.. has anyone out there done any timelaspses in photo mode and can report if they had any issues?
I honestly think it is overblown light canon highlights
@@nVuFilms my thoughts too, thanks!
How to be a cinematic filmmaker without camera masterclass 💀 😂😂😂
Lolol
You are absolutely right, bro, zv-e1 is a great camera. But here, in Europe, it cost 2700 EUR body only (about 3000 USD) and that's sucks :(((
You have to add vat / gst taxes to the US prices to compare. The EU prices are always inclusive taxes.
Stop being so much dang better than me
Nah bro I ain't even all that lol
I'm seriously thinking about getting a S5ii or S5iix for personal stuff. Open Gate. really gives me a one stop camera for family trips. But my Sony stuff is always the money maker.
Why would you do that and have to run different lenses for different mounts. Makes no sense
@@nVuFilms one to try something when I'm not on the clock. two I 'want' something that has higher burst rates than all my Sony cameras. I love just taking long bursts of photos of my grandkids.
Been holding out for a "mini a9 or a mini a1" for 5 years.

I came for the reviews but stayed for the sucking off mic jokes.
