- Every year to kick start the new year we do a polar plunge! We like to dress up in a theme that was super popular that year, so this years was Wednesday Addams themed! Not only did we decide to film this in December, but then on the actual day of filming, everything in Texas froze! It was snowing as we jumped into the freezing cold water, and eventually got so cold even our hot tub stopped working!
It snowed during our polar plunge! Watch us try to make it to the finish line, and see if we can break the record for the coldest year ever! Tune in for a special 2023 Wednesday edition of the Polar Plunge Challenge!

I find it so cute how everyone’s hyping each other up! Texas’ winter seasons in the past couple of years probably haven’t been the warmest lol, love that you guys still stuck to the tradition no matter how cold it is☺️

@@BrooklynAndBailey I'm from South America and I can honestly tell you it's not nice to be hot during Christmas because you're sweaty and you need lots of cold drinks. I know it must be nice and uncomfortable to be that cold, but you get to enjoy snowy and warm Christmas so you can get a hot drink. You get to enjoy the movie film Christmas, but you don't see many movies of hot weather Christmas!

I used to do this as a kid and teenager in the mountains during winter and summer retreats. I have good memories and am glad that I did it (many people would not do it). The camp gave an award if you did it every morning.

This is what we do in the Netherlands (well not everyone, but a lot of people)!! Except we go to beaches, going into the ocean! Without a hot tub to throw yourself in afterwards! This year it was very warm though. Between approximately 51 and 60 Fahrenheit (had to convert). But there are definitely years where it is as cold as it was for you guys, or even colder! All of you did great!
Edit: translated we call it “the new years dive” but you could translate it to plunge too of course! And we have definitely have had years with snow! The Netherlands has the most places where it is done and the most participants over the world! (Even though we are a tiny country!). In our county it has been done since the 1960’s!!
