They said they were gonna do that for mw2 (2022) but made mw3(2023) instead and we would have barley gotten a new cod this year in 2 years, which I would have liked.
Non controversial opinion: Every single call of duty release since MW2019 including the laziest one’s would’ve been playable games if sbmm wasn’t there ruining each experience equally.
Playable yes, but enjoyable- still , no. They have no soul. Its not even nostalgia, the original 360 games had something objectively that a team of corporate leadership cannot reproduce
@@awepossum1059You're absolutely right about that, but if heavy SBMM wasn't in the game, it would be significantly better. It’s really sad what cod has come to. I miss playing mw2,black ops 1/2, mw3 in the their prime. You really had to be there. So much more fun. Skill based matchmaking is killing the game
These games used to be made for adults but now all they do is cater towards kids. I played COD since I was 9 years old and yes I was a kid playing a game I shouldn’t but that is how it is supposed to be. It’s silly seeing all these childish things in a game for grown adults.
Man I'll be honest I really like Black Ops 6 at it's core. Master Prestige is back. A lot of things I like. Love Treyarch. But the way the matchmaking is now, and the cheating, the way the game absolutely punishes you if you have opposable thumbs....I might be done. Played the OG games back in the day as a teenager, and I'll die on the hill that they were better games. Maybe I'm just old now...but this shit sucks.
RIP to Xdefiant. The first fps game in a while where it felt like I could chill and listen to music without having to sweat all the time like cod. Also I agree ive been burnt out on BRs. Idk how people do it hours and hours every day. I used to love apex but then it became too greedy and dry, on top of the lobbies feeling like actual ranked. And then warzone has little to it. No personality unlike the other 2 giants

Nah xdefiant was too sweaty. Hero shooters are naturally going to be sweaty by design cause of the abilities. Plus the jump spam drove in the movement basememt dwellers so killed it for us uncs
This is the unfortunate thing about activision.. They have the money to do whatever they need to market the game. There was a constant continuing decrease of players since Vanguard so they needed to pull a trick out of their sleeve and promote Bo6 like it was the next best thing. People fell for it (again). It reignited the hype for a little bit and buys them time to do another scummy trick a couple titles later. I truly think they know their games are awful, and that is how they want them to be. They don't want players falling too in love with a game because it will ruin the sales for future titles. Back in the day, people would bounce between CoD 4 through Bo1. In 2010, they all had a steady playerbase still because they were all good options to play and mix it up. Activision does not want that anymore.
Where do you play? I play bo2 on xbox one since two months and it's very enjoyable, only sometimes you find hackers but in that case simply quit and find another lobby. They're not that frequent
The old movement, the bobbing up&down and side to side as you run is actually the way it feels when you run and jump around.Sliding on your arse for 20metres in every which way possible without any slowdown is ridiculous!Take it out and COD will feel like it was.😉
well they did that in mw2 2022 but the movement was "tOo sLoW" the only issue with mw2 2022 was the maps, mini map, and footstep audio, if it had better what i just said, it would have been the best cod in years. it was so close yet so far away
@Jinzify1 Very true. But it's still a valid issue when I've just witnessed a player sliding 4 different directions in 2secs on 402 Thunder's gameplay.😏He was laughing in disbelief because it's just ridiculous.🤪
We just need a new fps that doesn't have sbmm and has good kill streaks and perks. They have made cod nothing more than a copycat class. Everyone runs the same guns and perks making most of the items in the game useless.
@@MIYayYo The only good thing about XDefiant was the maps, and the no SBMM. Everything else about that game was so flawed. The completely awful netcode, no perks, no streaks, annoying abilities, no prestige, very little replayability all played a factor and that's why it died. There was no challenges either.. nothing to grind for. It was just aimlessly playing.
@@ItsAlpa they addressed all of those issues by season 2. Unlike COD, they listened to the community. People said the weapons took too long to get attachments, they modified the level up system and added in more mastery camos. Players that were playing the game got an increase in weapon levels to match the new system. People wanted better weapon balancing, the addresses that. The netcode they finally addressed and they stated it would take awhile. It’s not 100% but it is a lot smoother than when the game first launched. They even added in more game modes that was requested. That’s the difference. The developers didn’t fail XDefiant, Ubisoft failed the developers and community by not telling the inevitable.
@@MIYayYo Blame Ubisoft, blame whoever, but it was the most obvious imminent falloff right at launch. They rushed it out which resulted in it dying. They needed to have that stuff ready at launch. The point is, their only selling point was no SBMM and devs that "listen to the community" but, I should correct that and say "listen to the noobs." So, part of the blame is to the devs. Don't be an XDefiant apologist, there is a reason that game is being defunded.
This is a social media problem. The best builds in every game propagate so fast and are so in everyones face that everyone just runs the best builds. This has always been a problem in games but it was less bad back in the day because only high skill lobbies would suffer from meta abusers. Now every elo of every game is flooded with meta abuse, the trick is sorta to just make everything broken but even if everything is broken a best build will still rise to the top. Games that allow players to build their classes will always have the meta arms race. This is why old halo was awesome. There is no class, the only way to get the good guns is win a gun fight for them
Man, it really does. I play with 2 of my friends and we played multiplayer the first few days it came out and just went over to zombies afterwards. Now we just play warzone for like an hour and that's it. We occasionally play a game or two on multiplayer just to level up a weapon a bit for warzone, but man does it feel like a chore rather than something to just chill and play.
So I downloaded the trial that was offered on Playstation+, booted up the game, and didn't make it pass the weapon class setup. There were so many attachment options and perks that I just gave up right then and there.
Well said. Their goal isn't to maximise fun by making a good game, it's to maximise profits by selling bundles. That's why the whole thing feels so cheap and poorly executed. It's incredibly frustrating because there's no reason why we shouldn't have games that surpass the old classics by now. Imagine if they had continued to innovate, had a passionate team, and cared about their games and players (many of whom had supported COD for years). Their last few releases are particularly desperate and pathetic. They can't even get the naming conventions right (looking at you, MW3 2023, with MW2 2009 maps) let alone release a playable game. They are truly incapable of reaching the heights of COD 10+ years ago thanks to corporate greed, so it's time for them to go. What a waste.
Once they started incorporating Warzone into the normal multiplayer of COD, it's been very downhill. These need to be completely separated entities because things that work in Warzone dont necessarily work in normal multiplayer and vice versa.
It sucks that a game I used to love is doing this bad but at the same time hopefully they take this as a wakeup call and actually make a good game the people want
No one can deny this in any way, it's the people who they hire and themselves. They applied DEI policies and maybe other similar policies to it in the entertainment industry which is what made their products garbage and mediocre. Think about it, Ubisoft: DEI, Disney: DEI, Rockstar Games: DEI, and finally Activision: DEI! These are the reasons why the entertainment industries are tanking.
Thank the people that spend money on micro transactions. They're absolutely the reason modern cod is the way it is. Make clowning on people that spend money on in game items a thing again.
Skill based match making is literally what the competitive playlists are for. If I wanted to have a challenge I would play comp like how BO2 was, but now SBMM makes every lobby ass
Had so many people on reddit argue with me and call me an idiot for saying this game will be dead in another 2 months. So many people get so defensive about SBMM and you aren't allowed to critique cod or you're "complaining". Weird
You have to wait until seasons 2 for them to implement a hacking fix but let’s say the hackers found a way to exploit paid in-game items devs would have that fixed in 24 hours smh
the last cod I played was bo2, I had the honor of playing cod in its golden age, bo6 was the first cod in which I spent 99% of the time playing zombies, the maps are all horrible, and as fortunate said, after playing 2-3 matches on nuketown (because it was the only decent map) you got tired because of sbmm
Bro the average player playing COD, especially with how strong aim assist is, is so much better than they used to be. It's such a shame that a game that used to be so extremely fun, has turned into a stale, repetitive, sweaty, clusterf*ck of a mess. SBMM has totally ruined CoD for me.
COD has always been repetitive. It’s call of duty. You’re on the same maps, same lanes, etc in every game. You were just younger so it was more enjoyable coupled with the fact these games are meh. The repetition has always been there
@TraumaTizedLOL1 it more so boils down to the fact that they forgot how to make decent maps and loaded the game with SBMM. I dont mind the repetitive nature of games if it's good content that is being repeated. XDefiant had the same approach that old CoDs had, with 3 lane maps and similar guns to CoD, and that game was an absolute joy to play.
Sbmm has killed cod, in the end no matter how good game they manage to create, sbmm will make it so tryhard that it kills the fun. They did this to them self so nothing to feel bad for them.

It’s not just skill based match making it’s also skill based damage. I’ve done the math on some of the fights I’ve lost and it’s 100% skill based damage. If they are a higher level than you they win, period. If they buy from the shop and you don’t, they win.

I played it a bit and I play 2042 very often. You feel the difference. The lack of space, of players, of visuals, of things to be done. Fun fact both games have almost the same pace of mechanics.
It's funny, because Village wasn't a particularly "good" map in MW3, and no one really celebrated when it showed up in your match. It was a fairly neutral map. BUT: it actually had a flow! You could tell where enemies would come from just by being aware of your teammate's presence. There was no spawn-trapping, no areas that you had to watch your back on all the time, and you could pay patiently, if not tactically, to work your way to worthwhile EARNED streaks. Nowadays the maps are disjointed with either large maps with dead areas where no combat occurs or small maps where you spawn, shoot, die, and spawn again as you get shot in the back if you don't keep moving. Obviously Black Ops is different than the Modern Warfare games historically, but the constant pressure from Activision to have maps that just grind you do dust in the name of "fairness" has just ruined the fun. The game isn't about enjoyment anymore, just engagement. And those are not the same thing, even if Activision thinks they are. EDIT: preach it Fortunate. Preach it.
Wdym no spawn trapping? genuinely curious. Because either the spawns are sticky or theyre loose and all over the place. If theyre too sticky theres spawn trapping. If theyre too loose you get shot in the back.
@@awepossum1059 Blops 6 has much worse problems with spawn trapping on objective modes than I recall MW3 having, probably due to the small size of the maps.
Did people forget how grim the MW reboot player numbers were before warzone? Cod was already on life support at that point in time.. It just back to the norm now.
Bo6 multiplayer is just plain not fun. I've gone back to Mw2019 and Mw3. My friends and I instantly started to enjoy playing cod again. Bo6 just feels empty, if that makes sense. Zombies is pretty good though.
To be honest it peaked during cod 4-black ops 1. The 4th -7th cod were played the most statistically. MW3 and BO2 were played less. It regained during warzone and cold war because people played games more during covid
I was diehard CoD from the first ever on console (Finest Hour) to MW3 got MW3 midnight launch, and could instantly tell something just felt off. Gave it up a few weeks later because it felt soulless and not right the strange coincidence? MW3 was the first ever game not worked on by treyarch or IW alone: it was Sledgehammer
Not including bo2 in peak cod is straight ignorant considering it was the last good cod up until mw2019. And now every cod after mw2019 has been dogshit. This is a painful demise to watch
Apparently, that game is going to be woke. They've already said they aren't going to be offensive to certain groups of marginalised people. I really fear gta 6 will be like the last of us 2 where they insert woke garbage propaganda into the dialogue and story for the sake of inclusion. Plus R* have pushed out the men who made the other gta games so special and replaced them with activists 😢

I started on Warzone, and I mostly played Plunder. I can play 4 games in S01 Warzone back-to-back with zero kills. Then, hop over into BO6 Multiplayer and completely slay. Warzone does not have an "unwinding after work" vibe unless you love screaming at your tv.
what i dont understand is that the community gurned that the maps were dogwater but cried out for stakeout 24/7? i get its easy for headshots but other than that, nah
You people blaming warzone for all of cods problems are no different than the partisan politics cheerleaders blaming each other over culture war nonsense instead of attacking the real issues 😂 FACT
I’m just a casual player, might hop on a few hours on the weekends. I’ve played maybe 50 matches on BO6, on Game Pass. I didn’t go positive once. The last time I played I got fed up and switched to the recent MWIII. Had at least a 2.0 k/d every match. I’m not a bad player, I’d say I’m pretty average. But when every lobby is full of sweats that do nothing but cod all day, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I think the devs need to take some time off and think about how to make COD good again. Great comments Fort.
Honestly, if they just made one big game where you could play ALL of the CODs, and just supported that, they would have way more success than remastering nuketown for the tenth time.
Same thing for the sports games. 2k/madden and cod are 2 different genres yet have similar business practices. Both have shut down modded clients, and both are greedy.
I can’t believe people still buy cod. Even if they announced a new game with no SBMM I wouldn’t even believe or trust them. We just gotta hold on to those memories from the good old days
What’s crazy is I remember when mw3 came out the community was super high on it. Coming off of legendary games like bo1 and mw2. Me and my buddies actually quit cod for battlefield 3 at the time. I remember going back to mw3 after some of the new cods came out and mw3 was such a good game compared to the new cods. It’s crazy how high our standards were for cods back in the early 2010s. I’ve haven’t bought a new cod since bo3 and couldn’t be happier not wasting my time with that franchise. I’ve been playing counter-strike and it’s been a blast. A game dev that stays true to form and not much has changed in the 25 years it’s been out. Highly recommend
I have my PS3 while at college, and have been playing the old CoDs, I literally played WAW and BO6 the same day at a buddy's house and it's just disappointing. It looks better, but it's not even worth it. It played worse, guns were worse and attachments didn't make sense. The matches were incredibly hard for no reason, I'd play a game, barely go positive after dropping 20-30 kills in WAW, then next match I'd play against people I couldn't even react too. I'm playing against people half my age and I'm not even that old and it's like they don't even go outside. I can put a whole mag into a guy with an AK and not get the kill, because I firmly believe SB damage does exist. But no matter how good or bad in WAW, a garand still does the same damage.
In my opinion, cod started to go downhill when they started making everything a micro-transaction and instead of sbmm, do what bo2 did and have a separate playlist for ranked and casual.
Cod started to go downhill when they started worrying more about competing with other games instead of just focusing on what made Cod, Cod. Ghosts was trying to compete with Battlefield 4. AW, Bo3, and IW with Titanfall. WW2 you could say Battlefield 1. Bo4 with Overwatch and Fortnite. MW 2019- onwards= Fortnight/Battle Royal in general. Last cod game that just wanted to be a cod game was bo2.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped multiplayer chronicles that comes with 20 old maps and zombie chronicles along side with every zombie map prior and tranzit 2.0 lol
Bro, they should create a COD game with like every single COD game combined so that when you entered a game, you would randomly get placed into a match on the exact same engine/map from any random game from CoD4 or earlier to now. They have so much IP and content that's just sitting in a graveyard

At least down to the point of by rank.. these multiple numerical factors that decide SBMM has to go..
Going back to older code with an early form of SBMM (based on current level/rank) I still enjoyed the games, and did not have to sweat every match..
They said they were gonna do that for mw2 (2022) but made mw3(2023) instead and we would have barley gotten a new cod this year in 2 years, which I would have liked.
If modern COD died tomorrow it still wouldn't die fast enough.
Non controversial opinion: Every single call of duty release since MW2019 including the laziest one’s would’ve been playable games if sbmm wasn’t there ruining each experience equally.

These games used to be made for adults but now all they do is cater towards kids. I played COD since I was 9 years old and yes I was a kid playing a game I shouldn’t but that is how it is supposed to be. It’s silly seeing all these childish things in a game for grown adults.
huh, lol COD was always targeted and played by kids since the beginning. Battlefield and rainbow 6 was more realistic for adults lol.

X defiant was sweaty even without sbmm which I feel like cod would be the same if they took out sbmm
Yep me and my buddies would bounce between mw2 mw3 and blops2 constantly.
Call of duty is like the fast and furious movies, they should’ve stopped making them a long time ago.
God man old COD looks like SOOOO much more fun than new COD. How on earth do I play MW2, BO1 and 2 without encountering cheaters?

The old movement, the bobbing up&down and side to side as you run is actually the way it feels when you run and jump around.Sliding on your arse for 20metres in every which way possible without any slowdown is ridiculous!Take it out and COD will feel like it was.😉
They took out slide canceling in mwii 2022. no one liked that.
well they did that in mw2 2022 but the movement was "tOo sLoW"

But it's still a valid issue when I've just witnessed a player sliding 4 different directions in 2secs on 402 Thunder's gameplay.😏He was laughing in disbelief because it's just ridiculous.🤪
We just need a new fps that doesn't have sbmm and has good kill streaks and perks. They have made cod nothing more than a copycat class. Everyone runs the same guns and perks making most of the items in the game useless.
XDefiant was that game with no SBMM and now we are losing that too 😢
@@MIYayYo The only good thing about XDefiant was the maps, and the no SBMM.
There is no class, the only way to get the good guns is win a gun fight for them
Worst Cod in years and Ubisoft shuts down XDefiant instead of capitalizing on Cod’s downfall. The megacorp publishers deserve their downfall.
Playing BO6 feels like another chore after work.
Only way I return is if they get rid of SBMM and SBD. I quit years ago when they first implemented that crap.
It sucks that a game I used to love is doing this bad but at the same time hopefully they take this as a wakeup call and actually make a good game the people want
Yeah, good luck. This is greedy Activision we're talking about here.
That's never gonna happen. The people responsible for making every game from COD4 to BO2 are long gone and have been so for many years.
COD 2019 was the comeback, then they repeated all the old mistakes.
People need to stop buying the game. All they will listen to is $ unfortunately
People have been saying this every year since bo3….just give up lol
Weird

Bro the average player playing COD, especially with how strong aim assist is, is so much better than they used to be.

@@PackerManForLife in that case, I would agree. The maps are certainly no terminal, rust, raid, standoff, firing range, etc.

I thought MW3 2023 was the worst.
Bo6: hold my beer !!
I feel bad for us OG’s that played the game at its best. The new crowd doesn’t understand how great this game used to be.
Rcxd trophy/achievement is also bugged atm
Same energy for MW 2022 via Warzone 2.0 if you survived that, this ain't shit
The amount of glitches when i play zombies has also made it unenjoyable.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped multiplayer chronicles that comes with 20 old maps and zombie chronicles along side with every zombie map prior and tranzit 2.0 lol
This is honestly sad,Activision just had to ruin the best cod since Black Ops 3,This is embarrassing
No skills based matchmaking and just easy old school COD gamestyle, and we are back.
Bro, they should create a COD game with like every single COD game combined so that when you entered a game, you would randomly get placed into a match on the exact same engine/map from any random game from CoD4 or earlier to now. They have so much IP and content that's just sitting in a graveyard
