Only criticism I got is the handle. The primary reason why you don't see round handles on tools like this is for edge alignment. With an ovate cross section, you get tactile feedback telling you where edge of the tool is pointing. Plus it helps to keep the tool from turning as you hit things.
Cool hammer, but you should cast the two copper faces separately. Then, cut a pipe thread on the back. That way, you can unscrew and recast them when they become too deformed. This also gives you a chance to use different materials (lead, plastic, brass) on the same hammer.
Ogni volta che vedo i tuoi video noto che hai macchinari sempre più evoluti, segno che gli affari vanno bene 😉. Te lo meriti perchè sei veramente bravo e produci oggetti molto particolari
A. Make plugs out brass/copper, screw them in B. fill in the head between the screws w/ heavy shot (or the busted/chipped carbide cutting tools from your mill/lathe [for a deadblow] Very cool design and build
Interesting idea. For tightly threading round things (like 03:20 or 10:00) try using a strap wrench, it's relatively cheap (you can find decent ones as cheap as 10-15 euros) and will spare you a lot of effort.
Lok'tar Ogar! I never would have thought you would have got a sponsorship from WoW, lol. For anyone that hasn't been interested in it until now, I can say without a doubt that now is the best time to start playing. I've been playing on-and-off for 18 years (around 19,000 hours in total) and in my opinion, the gameplay has never been better. The story of The War Within is shaping up to be some of the best we've seen in a long time, too. Would absolutely recommend. I can tell exactly what weapon is being made in the next video, and I'm really excited to see how it turns out.
Always exceptional craftsmanship! A pleasure to watch. Would you ever consider (or point me to the video I missed) a video on your casting setup? You have a table, is there a pile of sand, do you mule on the ground, etc. Thank you and all the best.
Very ingenious. you're video smiled me because I live near Firminy, a town in the middle of France. Your 1904 anvil is a real collector's item, you are very lucky
Thanks a lot! I think any kind of copper alloy will work harden faster then copper. So plain copper should be the best for a dead blow effect. That's what I remember at least, I've not looked into it. 😁
Brass and bronze are both harder than pure copper. I don't know for sure so don't quote me, but I believe that it'd behave similar to the aluminum, depending on how much it's been used. (As it work hardens it'd get bouncier.)
Interesting! As a "wood-aholic" there are some woods that can be threaded, boxwood, if you can find it is one. I think that is a plumbing pipe, and I did find out that they are tapered rather than straight threads, not positive though. A few other woods can be threaded, like lignum vitae and some of the rosewoods. I don't have much of a machine shop though.... I have a number of wood mallets though.
Pretty cool idea! I have to say though, having worked in several machine shops, we always used Dead Blow Hammers (the rubbery-type filled with shot) for setting work into vises.
What about pushing a solid copper rod through the connector and put it in a press - it should grow thicker and the thread will engage and keep it in place. I know nothing of metal work - just love to watch you guys. My speciality is wood turning. Kind regards.
I love every bit of this build except for the burning of the handle. I have a couple of USN copper hammers from my uncle who served in WW!! & Korea War. I only look at the hammers.
I kind of like black handles for my hammers. I did all of them a while back but tried to be a special snow flake with this one doing only half of it. As of now I like it, but I can always burn it all 😁
Another simple method, deglove some copper wire, pack it as tight as you can, and strike it with a hammer (gently). I won't fuse together, but it will mold together and thus allow you to stack it pretty tight. Then put that inside a pipe and mush the ends so that it doesn't come out.
Beautiful. But is copper as hard as tempered steel? I'm genuinely curious because I want to try making a few blades for my friends and myself. Nothing like what you do, just a few 6 or 7 inch hunting knives
No it is no where close to being as hard as heat treated and tempered steel. It’s not even as hard as non-heat treated steel. He made a copper hammer because it is non marring. Meaning it won’t dent metal stuff that he hits. It’s like a more persuasive rubber mallet.
@@DaleDix brass, by definition, isn't pure. He just wants something that's mechanically soft. Brass (regardless of the type) is always going to be mostly copper.

Stay tuned for my next build: an iconic sword from World of Warcraft! You won’t want to miss it. Coming soon!
Yes! I love those crazy video game builds.
Crosses fingers for Corrupted Ashbringer.
If it isn't Ashbringer I will put my entire foot into my mouth
What is the name of this song. It's awesome.

единственный блогер из моих подписок, выпуски которого не хочется ускорить в два раза, потому что он уже это сделал за меня. красавчик!
Well designed, very well made and functional tool..!
Always enjoy your video’s. You’re the only metalworker I follow for a long time now.
Very cool as always, you do awesome work!
Clever hammer build. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎

💯💯💯
I don't think this is his first WoW sponsorship; he's built several other weapons from the game...

It’s a nice looking hammer 🤌🤩
Ça fait plaisir de voir cette vieille enclume fabriquée à Firminy !😊

That came out super cool man. Nice!
Great project and I really like that
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Bloody brilliant!!
Good to see another video, feels like it's been forever.
Very cool looking looking copper hammer. I new it was going to be awesome when I saw "BIS" on the side!
Your videos brighten my day.
Oh thank you!!! Take care❤️
Quite an innovative idea. Love your creativity.
Very ingenious.

Curious to see what you're working on next! Love your projects.
Toujours des beaux objets, merci de nous régaler. South off France
Great Copperhammer! Greetings from Finland! 🔩🎅🏻👍🏻🇫🇮
A very nice work piece. I wonder what a brass or bronze hammer would look like. Thankyou for posting, a very calming experience.

Hello mister beautifully made good job well done
Just the thought of you posibly making gut's sword gave me goosebumps. 😅
What an awesome channel
Lots of love from Bangladesh ❤❤❤
The threads were ingenious
SHALAMANE
I haven't played WoW in over a decade but I still have a lot of fond memories of my time there.
😂
The best nostalgia feeling.
Awesome work bro ❤😊😊
Very nice work!! I enjoyed this video I have never watched a hammer like this being made I think you did a excellent job!! I 👍👍
That intro covered the entire process 😂
Really like your skills!
Very cool! Thank you
Great film and beautiful hammer. Mahalo for sharing.😊
Looks like SHALAMAYNE!! That will be super epic, if that's the case. I have a replica, but I'm really looking forward to your video(s) on it.

Wouldn't be a very good video
To me, that was genius!
Very nice steampunk hammer, well done dear friend. Best regards
Have you thought about a traditional bronze alloy for your recast of the hammer next time?
That will be very handy, would you think of doing one in brass?
Same her...20 Years World of Warcraft...I Love this Game ;)
I have used brass fittings in that size. Maybe that instead of galvanized? Prettier, maybe, polished up.
That dagger from black rock of the dragon that blows random people up would be an epic build.
How awesome 👏👏
Very nice sir six stars
Love that its BIS (Best in slot) haha
oooohhhhh oh its time hammer time !!!
Hammer made with a plumbing fitting, something I recall doing (pretending/playing) as a kid
VALEU BROTHER!!!! 👍

I like it.
I know each metal has a particular use and purpose, what will this copper be used for primarily?
What brand is your electric smelter, and do you like it
Very nice work! Also, are you in your new workshop? I'm excited to see your next working space 😊
Not yet! Turns out I'll move in September.
I wish you made Frostmore out of nikel bronze or german silver or silver bronze
Kind regards
A larger handle would have been OK but still kudos to you for a very useful hammer.
use cutting oil when using milling machine.
super 🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍👌👌

مثل همیشه عالی بود
Coper and iron create a galvanic couple. The iron will begin to corroded very quick
Not if it’s dry and oxygen free. Dissimilar metals are joined all the time without corrosion. Look at explosive metal fusing for reference
kool hammer bro, are u gonna be making videos of the sword making.
Yess! Coming real soon 🔥
Thank you!
Maybe you could cast some interchangeable hammer faces outta different alloys
Whats the name of the music you put to this video on Facebook? Shazam and Soundhound cant find it.
che liquido hai messo hci???

Interesting, but isn’t copper a softer metal?
People still play that game :o. Shocking I thought they milked everyone dry years ago.
Dude, you must be living in a cave… WOW has been #1 MMORPG by far since its launch… They still have about 129 millions active players…
What are the applications of a copper hammer?
Useful when you are working around flammable gases, since it doesn't create sparks when you hit metal. Also useful when working with soft sheet metal.
It's a soft metal so doesn't damage most things.
cool! thanks both of you!
Thats Anduyns sword, right?
Time for a leather hammer right?
Why did you do this the hardest way possible?
20-year anniversary? Why must you attack me like that?!? Ouch.
please would be fantastic see the weapons of elden ring forged by you
That truely is a BiS hammer!
👏👏👏👏👏👏🤜🤛
Why didn't you just use brass fittings and save a bunch of work? You could fill the inside with lead shot to. It'd be heavier and a dead-blow.
Maybe the fittings aren't pure brass?
@@DaleDix brass, by definition, isn't pure. He just wants something that's mechanically soft. Brass (regardless of the type) is always going to be mostly copper.

Just one question though, why copper on both sides?
