  • Zeibekiko (Greek: Ζεϊμπέκικο) is a Greek folk dance with a rhythmic pattern of 9/4[1] or else 9/8. It is most commonly broken down as:
    1/8 + 1/16 + 1/16 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/16 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8
    or as:
    1/16 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8.
The name is derived from Zeibek warriors of Anatolia.[2]
The dance is of free choreographic structure. Although in older times the dance was danced by a pair of either the same or opposite sex, it has been evolved a solo dance strictly masculine and is considered in some cases offensive to be interrupted by another dancer. Occasionally dancers perform feats such as standing on a glass of wine or a chair or fireplace, or picking up a table, adding a sense of a little braggadocio and humor.

they dance many greek dances and sing many greek songs in Turkey.....does not mean is turkish! same in Greece we dance also a belly dance (tsifteteli) but we know that it has arabic roots,we dont claim is ours!!!! learn to respect first before you enjoy a diffrent culture!!!!!!

@@stachimos185 We have more in common than you think, especially in the Aegean parts of Turkey our cultures are very similar.

LOL look at all these butthurt cry babies who are getting so triggered. Who fucking cares who invented what? We both have really similar music, really similar food. Nobody is claiming to anything. The guy merely said that we have the same traditional dance, he didn't say Turks invented it. Take a fucking chilling pill and don't get so defensive about every single thing. Only really ignorant and stupid people (from both sides) still hold these ancient grudges...

@Nicos Frangeskou Technically we are Oğuz Türkleri not Mongols. Mongols are to be our closest cousin. Yes of course I know the meaning of Zeybek, Zeybeks (Efeler). If you want to have some sense of history, you can check out. And last I am not crying; but laughing.🇹🇷🤘🐺

@Nicos Frangeskou Of course Greece contributed humanity philosophy, no deny of it. At the same time Turks contributed humanity war tactics and systems which Europe used to benefit till 18th century. Additon to this Turks contributed humanity science and philosophy in Turkistan (Buhara, Semerkand) in early ages. Turkey is still one of the most 10 powerful militaries in the world. Dont worry you will see the power of Türkiye Cumhuriyeti again in your lands.🇹🇷🤘🐺
