Man, what a match! This one was difficult because Tawanchai landed some heavy hits, and likely racked up a lot of points from those insane push kicks, but Petchmorakot played that whole match so well, sneaking in so many punches in the exchanged and knowing when to go on the offence. I honestly thought Petchmorakot likely won, but I can definitely see how you could score it either way. Tawanchai is probably my favourite Muay Thai fighter at the moment. Close fight. I originally felt like it was close, with Petch potentially winning out (I was bummed since I was rooting for Tawanchai), then the decision surprised me. However, after rewatching it, and then brushing up on my thai scoring conventions, I understand why Tawanchai won. Still close fight though, as a viewer I wish the fighters had taken more risks so we could really know who could go the distance, but I understand that this is their livelihood, and injury prevention is part of the game (as well as not taking unnecessary risks and getting KOd).

First time watching, I thought Petmorakot had the advantage. Second time, I notice more how he was trying to pass off hitting Tawanchai's blocks as real hits when they aren't. Definitely to his credit he pushed Tawanchai out of his comfort zone, that alone was quite remarkable. Still, on the second watch, I agree with the decision, but man, that was close. Very impressive fighters, both.

I don't know much about the rules of this ring, but if they score teep too, then that's probably why Tawanchai kept quite a lot points in the first 2 rounds. I'm cheering for Tawanchai and the fight is so good I can't almost tell who's winning, most points from Petchmorakot is by countering Tawanchai attacks and Tawanchai lands quite a lot punch too, great fight for both.

Well-deserved win for Tawanchai he outstriked Petch with powerful teeps, lowkicks and 1-2s. Petch with nothing much to do relies on his jab and clinchwork with some knees and counters but it's not enough. Amazing fight between the two well done I think a rematch is coming soon.

low kicks and teeps doesn't count so much. In a Thai stadium he might have lost. Two major fouls after a clinch for Tawenchai. But it's a close fight. It is especially very annoying that the referee immediately stops the clinch

@@zenkatta i‘m sorry, what?! kicks r what counts the most in muay thai. really well timed teeps, which tawanchai for sure knows how to throw, r also a good way to score. and his teeps aren’t only timed really well, they’re also quite powerful. just look at how petchmorakot falls backwards and trips all the time when he gets teeped by tawanchai. and also a lot of the low kicks thrown by tawanchai landed clean on petchmorakot‘s lead leg. i really don‘t see how tawanchai could‘ve lost. he arguably won at least 3 rounds, if not more. and petchmorakot was stalling a lot through clinching from the 3rd round on, his gas tank was empty

I chose Muay Thai to be my topic in my table of specifications in the Teaching Assessment subject of my 3rd yr college there where I learned that the scoring system does not rely solely on striking and takedowns they also score using dominance if your enemy makes you fall back even if you are the one who throws many strikes there's a possibility that they will score the enemy because they made you hurt so they sometimes thinks you are scared that is why being a technician in traditional muay thai style is so hard to properly establish unless you knockdown the opponent.
