- The Town of Litchfield Park is located outside of Phoenix named after its founder, Paul W. Litchfield (1875-1959). He was an executive of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company who came o the Phoenix area in 1916 in search of suitable land to farm a long staple cotton. The east cost cotton supply had been devastated by the boil weevil and the African supply had been greatly reduced by World War I attacks from German U-boats. Litchfield was not successful in motivating local farms to grown his long staple cotton. The Goodyear tire and rubber company decided to buy there own land and started growing long staple cotton. Join me as I tour the towns historical sites including, the wigwam resort, the oldest church in town, and the historic Goodyear cemetery.

Thank you for the video. I am a new sub. Thank you Dr. Jose Viela for the fine work you are doing. You Sir are a great man in my book. I apologize If i misspelled your last name.
The Wigwam is one of my favorite places in the entire state.
How cool to find this video! I grew up less than 100 yards behind the church. Moved here in 1956 and have relatives still there. Thanks for the memories!
Thank you for this video!
4:18 There are only a relative handful of community churches from that era left throughout the Western states. It was common to use a wooden kit purchased through Sears Roebuck or Woolworth to build your church. The problem is, those wooden churches burned. In other words, adobe rules!
Great video! Please, do you know any information about this Dr? Any way i could look into some of his work or more about the history of the cemetery?
Nice find, locating that Dr. Would not want to live in that housing area. Poltergeist wasting to happen.
Haha exactly what I was thinking
Thanks so much for checking out the video. I wonder how many of those home owners know that information.
