Gotta love how the kid puts himself in front of Huitzil, and then he’s like “lol nope” and puts him on the background where he’s not gonna get hurt
I want more Fighting games to have dynamics like this instead of fights being all in voids with soulless gifs of people in the background
seeing him beg his robo friend to get up with that VA is too much :(
Huitzil reminds me of the Iron Giant
The kid blocking the opponent at the start is too cute
I always found so cool the way Huitzil protects Cecil with a force field when the opponent hits him with a special attack
My heart always melts at that last part. That little interaction is the epitome of why I love these two. Not necessarily because of wish fulfillment, but because I’m always a sucker for the trope of young kids forming unbreakable bonds with monsters or otherwise dangerous beings. It’s so freaking adorable.
The dynamic of children when any imposing being or person as a companion is fascinating
the series potential with Cecil is immense there's a short story fanart piece where Anita an Cecil rule together
As a mexican, Huitzil is cool in my eyes, but as in Darkstalkers featuring monsters-based characters from around the globe, it would be cool if mexican monsters- based characters would be added or prefered a lot more
Well there's the rumors that Amingo from MvC2 was meant for a canceled Darkstalkers 4

I love this series. Learn so much and made me purchase Darksiders Resurrection on my PS3!
Those two could always end up together so it isn't really a contradiction. Anita is the most powerful individual while Cecil has the most powerful force at his fingertips.

Maybe with the absence of Sentinel in MVCI, Phobos/Huitzil should be present in this game as a playable character. He would be so much fun to play and we need our TOKEN robot!
That's actually a very clever idea to a replace for Sentinel
I think this character went through alot of development. From a boss human killing machine to a defender of earth to a protector of a younger loved one. Might actually be my favorite character in capcom history

i always took it that both cecil and anita would be rulers of humanity(cecil guiding advancement with the huitzil and anita connecting the human realm with makai with morrigans help.) and i loved how the huitzil in the ovas started out destroying everything to keep the universe from being an uncontrollable disaster but realize that the darkstalkers and their intent to fight is needed and decide to destroy pyron before he becomes a destructive ruler, i could see that alongside cecil and anitas power to become humanities saviors being a big reason for jedah creating the majigen if an ova based on the 3rd game were to be made.(lol also huitzil punching lilith in the butt is funny:3.)

My favorite Darkstalker! Was particularly pleased to see his unused combiner Final Guardian make an appearance near the end of the video. Also like that you included the anecdote about the "lame" accordion joints.

Even though I do like Huitzil, I feel like there was a big missed opportunity to have a more faithful adaptation of the actual Huitzilopochtli, or at the very least an Aztec character named Huitzil. Still, if there ever is going to be another game, hopefully they put in monsters/figures from Latin America
He's like the sentinel from the x-men children of atom where it has the same stage as him & when he loses the match 2 times, both the giant robots from the background collapses & he's more like bumblebee in transformers

Huitzil will always be my favorite character in Darkstalkers, right next to Lilith.

The one with one of the biggest character development is a soulless robot
i actually liked phobos/huitzil as a boss and adding cecil just gave me T2 Judgement Day vibes. pyron was like akuma and amakusa fused.

Watching these videos I see way there isn’t a new Darkstalkers game.
I found your channel a wekk ago, subscribed a week ago and notice your last video on this was a LONG time ago and now lord and behold, a new video lol Life is funny.
I know the Mayans existed in Mexico, but it would've been cool if they used the Mayan location as an excuse to include a less represented Central American country in a fighting game roster, like Nicaragua.
This makes me want to watch The Iron Giant again...

Although this character is not a native of Mexico (since he comes from space thanks to Pyron), I really love him, his story, his design and his moves.
Sadly, there's some inconcistencies:
1 the place huitzil was found in teotihuacan corresponds to the Aztec culture witch was settled down in the center of Mexico, while Cecil is a Mayan kid, culture that was settled in the south part of Mexico, part of Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador, thus, that would be impossible for a kid to make such travel alone. Perhaps a misunderstanding.
2. What came first? The story or the model? If it was the story, huitzil should have had a different style, if it was the model, huitzil should have a different location.
And for the record: Falcon Aztec, from Megaman Zero first game, was supposed to be based on Huitzilopochtli, but the idea where rejected since hummingbirds wasn't as imposing as they wanted it to be.

I always wonder why Capcom tends to change so much when they localize their titles to the West. I’m guessing they changed Phobos to Huitzil because of his(?) place of origin. Not sure about the other three Darkstalkers characters though. Aulbath and Zabel sound cool, but Gallon? LMAO
There should be Cyberbots versions of Phobos/Cecil and Donovan/Anita.
