I just purchased the 10.5 for small off the beatin path skinny water fishing. I did a video on it . I really like this platform . Thank you for sucha a well designed platform. Tight Lines
I put my 45 quart Yeti in the back sideways before. Fits just fine and didn't overload the yak at all. I weigh 210 lb and even with a cooler that size full of drinks and fishing gear I wasn't even close to overloading the boat
And a pedal drive that way I can pedal paddle or put a gas engine on itcuz I've got a few fishing spots offshore that I inherited that are way too far to paddle and you'd be dog-tired pedaling
The 10.5 is more manuverable , 12.5 tracks straighter but still pretty nimble for a larger kayak. There would be other questions I would ask to make sure you get the right one. How much do you stand to fish, do you stand and paddle around looking for fish?
@@KakuKayak yeah I was hoping you would say that, lol. Thanks for the help...will you be at the Greater Philly Expo fishing show from Feb. 22nd til 24th?
Love the boat only wish it had a couple of things a little bit larger tank wellmainly so I could sit some sort of a seat in there so I can take my little girl with when she wants to go without having to buy a tandem kayak
@@KakuKayak now that's clever way to do it,😀 now if only had a pedal drive in there are put gas in it on the back had the pedal drive in there for backup and go out and Chase that boat's name sake fish I personally am all about redundancyI want the only reason I don't come back is something that happened to work I can't get back lol
I would amend my comment from 3 years ago. I do not like the foot controlled rudder on it, you have to sit to far forward to use the foot controls. You definitely need the hand controlled rudder with pedal drive. But pedal drive comes with the rudder. I like the rudder with my wireless controlled motor, other than that the rudder works well for drift fishing, or paddling thru crosswinds.
I have a Wahoo 12.5 and it's the best kayak I have owned. Easily the most stable SOT I have paddled.

I have considered a sit on top for about a year and this is one I am leaning toward. Thanks for the information.
I am picking this one up today. Super excited!! I've wanted one for a couple of years.
Awesome, congrats
Thanks for the video review. Well done. Great kayak.
Hey my kayak that I purchased has these pre-drilled holes all around the kayak. What kind of accessories can I purchase for these

Love the open deck. I fish rivers and lakes and don't do any ocean fishing at all so will the longer 12.5 be okay or would the 10.5 be better.

@@KakuKayak mostly a bass fisherman so I do like to stand a lot. Also like to take my 4 legged fishing buddy out with me!
@@MrJayt0625 then the 12.5 is your yak. Plenty of room for your buddy, and it paddles better standing up

have a customer that put a little bench seat hooked to the rear tracks for his little girl to go fishing with him

Im dreaming with this yak
Stupid question. Since I use it a lot. Will a anchor trolley work on this craft? Thx in advance
Who can I contact in California to get a kaku wahoo yack.
Your dealer locator says there was a shop but no web site. Any west coast states
I pretty much let Austin kayak handle the west coast states. They ship anywhere for very cheap
Can you fit a fishing pole underneath for storage?
I suppose you could, I’ve never tried it.
Would this cut thru the surf for fishing nearshore /offshore?
Do you guys sell the new handles, so someone with an older model can upgrade?
We do, just send us a email to info@kakukayak.com. we are out of the extras at the moment but we will have more soon
Can this yak be set up with a foot controlled rudder?
yes, it is rudder ready. we have rudder kits for it

@@KakuKayak the kayak that I purchased does not have a pedal drive. Do you recommend that I still get a rudder
My ultimate goal is to put a trolling motor on it but in the meantime I'm going to be paddling in local lakes here in Canada
Are they made in China?
They are moulded in American owned factory and we finished riggging them out in Florida
:)
