Fun fact: "The Mouse"'s robe is a proof that he lied for being an apprentice because the robe that he wear is a senior enchanter robe. Makes sense as it is a Pride Demon in disguise.

My mages make things so fun. Using area of effect spells like inferno in certain areas makes it last even during the cutscene if while you are casting a spell you activate a trap the code will overlap causing you to be teleported to who knows where. I got glitched outside the map and it auto saved...spend 20 min trying to get back into the game or reply my last 2 hours lol.
I like the origin story better than the rest of the game actually. I wish you could spend more time here. The whole game could have been dedicated to circle politics and the tower overtaken by blood mages or possibly the main character even possibly thwarting it or something.
I wish depending on what origin you choose you get a companion later from your origin, mage would have jowan, human noble would have ser Gilmore, dwarf noble could have gorim, dwarf commoner could have leske, dalish could have the elf mage I forget her name, city elf could have your cousin.
to betray jowan or not is one of the hardest desion in the game out of all the origin stories. I don’t want to betray my only friend but Irving has been a good master and his look of disappointment is crushing. It feels like a lose lose situation.
I think you are using the word friend very loosely here. We don’t get enough of jowan to grow up to him. And from what we can see of him, he is not reliable, doesn’t tell you he is practicing blood magic, doesn’t respect your oath of secrecy. And just how hard is it to get a god damn rod of fire request form signed on your own.
And also the first enchanter Irving is a pleasent and nurturing mentor. Hell even knight-commander is more pleasent than jowan, he is kind of a DILF too that knight-commander except for that whole purge-the-tower business.
If you want to become a grey warden so you can leave the tower for good, you should remain in the circles good graces and not break the rules. Luckily in the end it works out the same way but your character has no way of knowing that. A big risk if you want out of that cage. But despite hating your caged life I’d always choose to be good in that situation and support irving. He’s been good to you, you’ve been his favourite pupil and leaving with the grey wardens after that feels a lot better. Jowan seems aloof. Doesn’t trust you enough as a friend to tell you that he was a blood mage. Their choices got themselves into the mess they’re in, some people are beyond redemption
In my first play through I betrayed Jowan, and a lot of my friends told me it was an evil decision. I disagreed, the story didn't give me enough to know what sort of friend Jowan had been to my Warden, and he seemed willing to get him into trouble with no consideration as to my wardens future. All for selfishness. Or "love". Its silly.
I like to personally believe the harrowing or even the fade being the trap that it is, is merely a reflection of your own emotions and being made manifest and when you enter you are broken into shards that take on minds of thier own.
I have five favorite games and one of them is the dragon age franchise.. now I remember playing this for the first time and I different origins such as human Noble and I did the dwarf Noble the castless dwarf.. and when I do the mage one I didn't really like it cuz I didn't think it can really make a difference and for the longest time. but when dragging age 2 came out I love the mage in that game.. the only downfall is that you have Carver instead of Bethany... and it was only a couple weeks ago that I started playing dragon age again and then I decided you know what I'm going to try the mage walk through maybe it'll be a better challenge but as I was starting to play it I started liking it and then it's my favorite class... you can do a lot of damage when you're a mage here and I couldn't believe that I didn't notice when I first played it.. this is one of the best origin stories out of the sex
The Mage Origins felt more like an RPG version of Harry Potter, if the Mage were oppressed by Templars and locked up in towers, demons end up possessing the Mages which could lead to destruction and the Chantry are always preaching that magic is dangerous and people who use it as well as those who aren’t humans deserved to be hated and feared for it.
Okay idk how that ever happened bc I couldn’t find info online about it and couldn’t reproduce it at the time. But anyone ever got abominations instead of mages during the last fight ? It happened to me once. Instead of the like 5/10 mages that spawn, it was the same amount but abominations that were neutral enemies (attacked everyone) idk if it was a bug or something but I swear to the Maker that it happened!
@@SeventhheavenDK yeah it’s unrelated and yes last fight. I was just asking around to see if it happened to anyone else. Maybe that was a one time thing.
I was just wondering how you got to trigger the dialogue with Jowan at 41:51 also with Senior Enchanter Torrin at 46:44. I'm playing a mage playthrough right now and can't seem to get these dialogue options you got, hence making me curious. :)
Is there always a small chance for an apprentice to meet a Pride daemon in his or her's harrowing ?? Did this pride deamon slipped trough without the mages knowing or was he the real test ?? Meaning, putted there by the other mages ? Sound unlikely that they control a pride deamon ??
IIRC, the Circle basically puts up a giant sign in the Fade saying "FREE APPRENTICE BODY HERE 4 RENT" and just wait for a demon to pop up. Our Warden was pretty much just unlucky enough to get 2, I think.
wait a moment the whole philatery blood thing is teaken form a mages blood when he joins the tower of magi wich most of them are send in at child hood ages when ther magic shows it just hit me they took a huge bootle of a childs blood like dem if that's the start of your life ther i start to get why they dont like the place
Well, Templar? How does it feel when the shoe is on the other foot? How does it feel, to become powerless? (Note: That's what I would like to ask Greagoir - sure he isn't as bad as many Templars, but he also supports a system of oppression and abuse of power! Seriously, Tevinter does without Templars as far as I know, so mages can actually govern themselves!)

Also if you listen to how he talks you can tell he's hiding something
Nice, thanks for the info :D ! never noticed.
I like how the Pride Demon congratulates you and offers some advice before leaving peacefully :D
He does congratulate you, but he also warned you if you slip up, he will take him
If you can expect that from a demon though I thought he was warning him about the blight
In my view, since He tried to possess you by deceit and failed, He's too prideful to resort fo force.
