Congress' Sam Pitroda advocating 'inheritance tax' has provided BJP with more ammunition to attack INC. Amid the political slugfest, PM Modi sharpened his attack at the Congress during a public rally on April 24. Notably, after his comments snowballed into a controversy, Pitroda sought to downplay the issue. Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Pitroda wrote he only cited US inheritance tax as an example. The Congress also swung into damage control mode and distanced itself his Pitroda statement.

What is so revolutionary about “Inheritance Tax”. It was there in India all along, in the name of “Wealth Tax”. It was only in 2018, it was abolished by Arun Jaitley ji.
