Howdy. I have a new-to-me 1995 Chevy Sierra 1500 pickup with original 4L60e tranny (as far as I know). 228,000 miles. Runs good. Only symptom I have is delayed shift from 1st to 2nd. It waits until 2,700 to 3,100 rpms. I can usually make it upshift to 2nd by easing up on fuel pedal just a little for a moment at various lower RPMs. Does it hot or cold, in cold weather and warm. It misbehaves when selecting "D" as well as "3". It will downshift from 2nd to 1st, as it should though.
Everything else operates as it should. Fluid is clean, red, and exactly full when warm/level. Fuses all good. No CEL or stored codes (used jumper wire method). No visual leaks or consumption. Filter condition is unknown, as I haven't removed pan.
Is this the 1-2 solenoid / solenoid A failing, more than likely? Or the 2-4 Servo? Or the 1-2 Accumulator valve? I have no CEL or stored codes.
Also, is there a way to manually shift it to further narrow down the issue?

Great explanation, what happened to the video sections that were cut out?
I am building an electric vehicle using a C5/6 differential (so 4l60e bolts up) and want the rear motor to both be disconnected as well as get a low and high gear. I'd use a powerglide, but the gear spread is not enough. I would like to reduce the weight and simplify the trans if possible, and only have 2 gears and neutral. Don't need reverse. Maybe 1st and 3rd gear, but from the video, it seems I can physically lock the 2-4 band, and then can shift 2 to 4. If anyone can get some insight on best way to do that, I'd appreciate it. Will not have a torque converter and will use an electric hydraulic pump.

At 25:54 I think you were in error, you showed the lo roller clutch working on the reactionary ring. Is should have been the planets inside circled as the reactionary ring is connected directly to the tailshaft/wheels ¿¿¿¿

At 34:33 There could also be shown a line from
Reactionary ring gear to transmission casé
indicating parking pawl holding rear drive
    wheels stationary ¡¡¡¡

I always wondered, what would you get if you re-routed the hydraulics such that the reverse input clutch would apply in third gear in addition to the 3/4? Would that relieve the beating the latter gets?

That would help third, but that housing needs to be held in 4th. It would be tough to time the apply and release of the rev clutch just to benefit 3rd. There are some good performance options, like the drum at 4l79.com or the sonnax smart drum. Www.sonnax.com
