Good stuff! Two key points I would add: 1) If you're grandfathered into the 20 year retirement plan, then do the 20 years and get that pension check every month. 2) If you plan to transfer your Post 911 GI Bill to your spouse or kids, do it immediately because there's a four year ADSO (active duty service obligation) starting from the date you transfer it.
3 reasons to get out. 1. Your political leaders are completely unwilling to do what it takes to win a war, but will give you a phone book set of rules of engagement and will smash you on something that it takes you two seconds to decide on what to do. 2. Senior leaders won’t hesitate to throw you under the bus if it advances their career, a lot of the time they are largely unaccountable, especially flag officers. 3. All you are to them is an asset to be used, like a HMMWV, so expect deployment after deployment in areas that ultimately won’t mean a damn thing.
The military leaders are angels in comparison with the idiotic civilian leaders. If military leaders are that bad, they learned it from the civilian side.
We and you should know by now that all politicians are related and extended family members. Of course they don't anything to happen to their relatives all over the world. I didn't worry about those inbred fake characters.
@@ursulasmith6402 huge disagreement with that statement military leaders are fucking demons compared to civilian leaders, military leaders are man children who have a big ego and go on crazy power trips simply because they can and know that junior enlisted won’t do anything back
Sir, I have a question. Why are so many recruits do so well at MEPS, basic training or boot camp, AIT, C school tech school or whatever ? After arriving to their duty station, they fall, apart. Either they get in trouble or suddenly ha e medical issues.
I can’t speak for all veterans but I can say once you reach your duty station you are much more responsible for your training and care of your body. It can be assumed that not all who lead PT are certified Physical trainers and can push folks or have training that can cause injury. This is in contrast to training where PT is much more regulated (even if it doesn’t seem to be). The military has/is taking great steps to improve physical training to be more effective and safer.
2:42 That's what I'm stuck on. I have the possibility of doing what I need to do its just a job and half to get someone to go with me on it. Trying to go honor guard in Arlington. Been thinking about using option 5 (duty station of choice) to get there but its not a guarantee though. I want to seal the deal on getting the school in the contract but knowing a liaison they are gonna try and play games with me to stay in and do something else. I would take any advice.
Don't make an emotional decision to get out based on toxic leadership! I agree with that comment 100%
Yeah, until you realize that Toxic leadership killed your friends by making them commit suicide.

Toxic leaders is more than a reason to get out.

3 reasons to get out?
1. Barracks
2. You don't need any other reason.

If you are ready to turn the page, do it....
If I had 5 years left , I definitely would push through.. shiiddd that’s a pension
If I'm not being challenged, I'm more likely to want to leave. This has nothing to do with "leadership". I don't have to like my bosses but it helps!
