Well, after a long 21 months since March 2020, BA have now finally put their superjumbo jet back into revenue service, starting off with a month long of crew familiarisation flights between Frankfurt and Madrid. I managed to nab the first flight of the A380 since it last flew passengers pre lockdowns. The atmosphere onboard from the crew and passengers was so great, everyone enjoyed the flight and to all be back and doing the things we loved.
And yes this is my first time ever on an A380 - Now that I've been on one, I truly appreciate the amount of engineering and work that went into building this masterpiece of aviation, and I'm so glad they are now back in use.
I tried to make this flight video a bit more unique to my others and made it a bit more like a trip report, hopefully you will approve of this style. I also want to thank the entire crew who operated the BA902 on November 8th and provided an excellent service, especially for letting so many enthusiasts visit the flight deck after we arrived in Frankfurt.
The only downfall to this flight was the news I received after landing in Frankfurt - That being that my grandmother had sadly passed away. Quite a hard moment to come by, especially when I am abroad in another country. Other than that, a perfect inflight experience and one of my best short hauls so far

Superb full flight video Casey I enjoyed it. I am very happy you were able to take your first flight on a Airbus A380 and I hope this won't be the last. Inside of that super jumbo look like a movie theatre lol. One of the things I notice with you that I don't see any one else does is to check the distance between your knee and the back of the seat in front of you with palm of your hand. I see you do that many times.
Amazing video! Glad to see the BA A380 back. They have been bold unlike other major European legacy carriers in keeping them. Personally I do not think they need all 12 but could stick to 6? Hope BA find a good strategy to make them cost effective in the longer-term

So sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing ... I hope that your memories of her provide some comfort during this time.
Fun fact: This isn't the first time that British Airways has flown the A380 to Frankfurt. They previously have flown the A380 back in 2013 to Frankfurt, for the purpose of conducting training flights to shorter flights within Europe before they began long haul routes especially to some US cities.

I saw this flight in flight trader 24 on Monday
You’re so lucky you got to fly an A380 because I’ll never get the chance to fly an A380, though please don’t say I’m being a pessimist because I have good reasons (which I wasn’t discuss) to prove it. Though I did get to fly on a high altitude 777-300ER at untold speed and considering I only fly domestically, I’d say I’m pretty lucky. Plus this can be a teaching lesson for me that there are more important things in life than airplanes such as being kind and virtuous. Great flight nonetheless!👍👏😃
