Ive been an organist for nearly 24 years. THis is the best rendition of this masterpiece that I have ever heard. Both in Concerts, weddings and especially on youtube. Perfectly executed. The expression in your playing and stop choice are spot on!
This was the piece that I Performed for our Grand Worthy Matron / Patron and the Entrance of the Chapter Officers at the Grand Visitation of the Order of Eastern Star, as well as the entrance of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. I just love this piece it is so easy to memorize and have fun with it at the same time.
This is an excellent recording moller!!! My father is a retired Episcopal priest and former Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral here in San Diego. We have a wonderful organ but the one at Calvary is magnificent!! Thank you for uploading this :)
I've done this several times over the course of my career, both on solo organ and accompanied by one or several trumpets. Still one of my all-time favorites, played to perfection here. Voicing is unparalleled, the tempo perfect. My compliments on a great performance!!!
I don't think I have ever heard a better sounding organ than this one, even with organs with more pipes.. The notes are so clean and pure and stop immediately when any key is released. None of the grand cathedrals of Europe can compete with this organ and it's sound is better than the one of the Crystal Cathedral in Orange County California. Trumpet Voluntary really shows off this grand organ for what it is; The best I have ever heard. On a scale of 1 to 10; it's a 10
This should be the definitive example of how to play this magnificent English organ work...Correct pacing, proper use of registration and restraint on the Swell pedal makes the package complete...Thank You!!!
Fl, there's a ton of great songs for cathedral weddings: Jesu, Man's Joy of Desiring, Wedding March and Bridal Course, Wedding Processional from Sound of Music, Canon in D is another one, too. These are all over UA-cam for you to sample before you make a choice!
This instrument is massive as well as impressive and even intimidating to us who play the common little 2-manual organs every Sunday. When passing through I will have to stoop and see if I can get some "air-time" on this monster!
@helloitsmelol097 Finding the number of ranks is a difficult task without a list or a very thorough specification. If the specification lists the number of pipes for each stop, it's pretty easy. However, unit organs and organs with a great many borrowed stops make it very difficult, especially with mixtures. After all, you have no way of knowing if a stop is independent or extended just by looking at it on a standard stoplist. All you can do is guess as to whether each stop is independent.
Sounds great, beautiful organ. If anyone knows of some nice pipe organ music to be played at a cathedral wedding, please message me! All I can find is this song (its not dull and boring). I really love Highland Cathedral (tempo and strong) but it doesn't sound so good on the organ. Thanks David.
well you could search for "schmücke dich o liebe seele" performed by Ton Koopman. The organ he's playing is the Silbermann organ. Thats an organ with soul. And dont get me wrong: i do respect your opinion, it just totally collides with mine :P
I mentioned to my future wife that the "Trumpet Voluntary was the "Wedding Processional" she should have used! Unfortunately she didn't!!! Over 40 years later we still remain married!!! and she now regrets not using the "Trumpet Voluntary!" I told the organist with the Casavant Pipe organ to pretend it was a concert until the wedding march!!!!
I am well aware that the number of pipes nor the number of ranks are directly involved in the quality of the sound. Do you have any UA-cam URL links to the organs you reference? I have not found any. If there are such links please let me know. For me the clean sound is one of the best attributes of this organ; that; and the fact that the note decay is instant once the key is released. It allows for more control by the organist.

Strange. I remember playing the exact same song on this very organ!
It blows my mind that these churches are moving to music that is not including the organ. Contemporary seems to be the way to go. It seem that if people can't have something to wave their arms to they cannot feel the Holy Spirit...I for one can. To me nothing is more moving then the mighty rumble of the pipe organ, a REAL feeling of power, not twang of guitars and the tinkling of keyboard.
Slow? Absolutely Not. As a newly elected National Councillor of the American Guild of Organists and son to a Former National Councillor and President I say this. My father always told me that the way I played this piece was fit for a Royal & Presidential Entrance . Which in 2003 I played it for her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and in previous years for Former Presidents Bush Jr, Clinton, Carter, Bush Sr, and Reagan. Also for my parents at their 5, 10, 12, and 14 year anniversary.
Well i guess u never been to europe then? or at least didnt visist the better sounding organs then? Like the Silbermann Organ at St Mariën in Germany, or the organ at the dom of Passau? or the various Hinsz organs? The sound of this organ is wayy too clean.. it's got no soul in it.. The sound is so clean, it almost sounds like an electric organ.. By the way: the quality of the sound of an organ doesnt depend on the number of pipes
+Aaron Cameron I wouldn't bother. it's in awful disrepair and horribly out of tune, as the church has gone all contemporary. it's a shame, really.... a waste of a good instrument.
Aaron Cameron I bet they just don't want to be embarrassed by its sad state ;) If you want an alternative in North Carolina, Raleigh's Edenton St. Methodist church has a ~100 stop organ with nearly 7000 pipes. It's smaller than this one, but by all means still a large instrument. It's in great shape, and is constantly used. I'm friends with the organist there and I play there all the time, so I'll bet you could arrange a visit ;)
excuse you this work belongs to none other than Charles John Stanley 1712 to 1786. it is not the scoundrel Princes March. who married Queen Charlotte by Proxy, of whom was the daughter of King George III. that Prince was a scoundrel and she was disgraced because of her frigid husband. the Trumpet Voluntary in D Major is not that particular march. the one that you speak of is here comes the bride, which should never be done at a wedding ever

I will enjoy playing this pipe organ someday!

I just love this piece it is so easy to memorize and have fun with it at the same time.
I hsve played this organ. The LAST Moller manufactured ! .
R.I.P. M.P. Moller Organ Company! You certainly produced some very beautiful organs in your time; both visually and musically!!!!
Anything on the organ ...ahhh that's better 😌!!
Wonderful recording Moller! Being the son of an Episcopal Priest, here at St. Paul's Cathedral in San Diego, I really love this!!!!!
This is no doubt one off the best versions of the Trumpet Voluntary in the World. Wow!
This is an excellent recording moller!!! My father is a retired Episcopal priest and former Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral here in San Diego. We have a wonderful organ but the one at Calvary is magnificent!! Thank you for uploading this :)
Most powerful, beautiful, majestic, beautiful musical instrument on the planet. The only one reserved for the King of kings. Lord of lords.
I've done this several times over the course of my career, both on solo organ and accompanied by one or several trumpets. Still one of my all-time favorites, played to perfection here. Voicing is unparalleled, the tempo perfect. My compliments on a great performance!!!
This organ is just wonderful !
i love this it is so amazing great uses of the brass tied in with the swells

I just love the organ - and this march as well. Thank you for a nice recording and playing! :)
Beautiful. So well played.
Jack, No "requirement to be an organist",.....Just an appreciation of the music and the instrument !!
John Carleton
This should be the definitive example of how to play this magnificent English organ work...Correct pacing, proper use of registration and restraint on the Swell pedal makes the package complete...Thank You!!!
I just love organ music! So powerful!!
Dan's the man!

the POWER of that organ..weedly..weedly screech screech trumpets to my ear....organ is Flavorful~ Goldman sounds like you're 12 years old~
this was written for the organ using trumpet stops.
those
the trills were perfect
Amazing this song on organ!
This organ is 205 ranks. If it's short on anything it would be the acoustic. I think it was the 4th largest church organ when it was built.
If I ever get married again, I definitely want to be marching down the aisle to this music.
I never knew that in order to appreciate the beauty of the music there was a requirement that one must be an organist - silly me!
This instrument is massive as well as impressive and even intimidating to us who play the common little 2-manual organs every Sunday. When passing through I will have to stoop and see if I can get some "air-time" on this monster!
Wonderful, thanks for uploading!
the trompette stop on this organ is just incredible
What an amazing organ!!! Sounds like GOD himself built it by hand!

Powerful!
That would do it! Nice!

I've never come across any words to it.
2:30 There is NOTHING like a pipe organ!
Cool! There are only roughly 12 organs in the world larger than this one, so most likely I've heard of yours. Which is it?
It blows my mind that these churches are moving to music that is not including the organ. Contemporary seems to be the way to go. It seem that if people can't have something to wave their arms to they cannot feel the Holy Spirit...I for one can. @helloitsmelol097 Maybe it is an extension organ?
What is the name of this song?
theres a beautiful catherdral where i wanna get married someday and this is going to be the song i walk down the aisle to
Excellent thanks. Jesu sounds quite nice and appropriate. But I should have said, I detest the Wedding March (yeesh!!) :-)

Thanks a lot!! m(_ _)m
How many brides have entered a church to this piece?
Tempo's a little off.
Let’s not forget that MP Moller went bankrupt building this monster pipe organ 😪
die Zunge ist ja fürchterlich verstimmt; ansonsten ok
I want to get married in that church.
Ah the organ that bankrupted Moller. Such a shame being one of their better modern efforts both visually and tonally.

I wanted to come play this organ once and they told me no.
If anyone from the church finds this. I would still love to come spend time with that organ.
+Aaron Cameron I wouldn't bother. it's in awful disrepair and horribly out of tune, as the church has gone all contemporary. it's a shame, really.... a waste of a good instrument.
Joshua Sobel yeah ive heard about this. But if it is never used you think they would let some people come play it just to get some use out of it.
Aaron Cameron I bet they just don't want to be embarrassed by its sad state ;)

Joshua Sobel Yes please. That sounds nice.
This is without doubt the worst version of the Trumpet Voluntary I've ever heard.
Which is your favorite? Played *ENTIRELY* on an organ?
Sam Goldman This is without doubt the worst version of a UA-cam comment I've ever read. :)
If you think you can do better, go ahead. I would love to hear it.
You must be joking. This is the best one I've heard so far.
+moller11739 lol
excuse you
