Great collaboration on this topic by Sofi and Jim Warford. Sofi's work is well known to most of you all, but maybe Jim is a new name to you unless you read one of the many articles he wrote for Armor Magazine while he served as an active duty Armor officer and even into retirement. He put in an amazing amount of research on this vehicle and dug deep to find pretty obscure information about a system our intelligence agencies completely overlooked. Hats off to him for his diligence and hard work on bringing this system to light and to Sofi for her as-always great presentation skills and for getting it put together on her channel.

I've never seen one up close. This is really interesting to look at. All the vehicles we were exposed to were ZSU series vehicles and BTR vehicles. Your very informative with the information you provide. Your information is so much better then the S-4 sections back in the day. A Very Happy New Year to you SOFILEIN.

Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it and learned something. What I liked in particular: the compact style (no rambling around as in videos of other tank youtubers), and the fact that you did the talking yourself (you have a cool voice), not standing next to another expert who did the talking. Keep it up - and if I can make a wish, a video about the T-10M you were photographed next to would be great!

Anyway, may I please point out the epic, no the most epic hair ever EVER on planet Earth at 0:57?

It's funny, somebody left a comment on the War Thunder news entry about why the American tech tree was getting so much focus at top tier, and one of the Dev's response was that the US had an enormous variety of aircraft during the middle Cold War period. And this video, when she talks about the Soviet exercise, we see the threat that those aircraft were designed to counter (specially CAS aircraft and aircraft capable of carrying large bomb loads).

Thank you Sofilien! I'm at present transitioning from my study of Gernan armoured vehicles over to Russian armoured vehicles.
It might be a little dangerous to say, but I'm really intrigued by the development/appearance (?) of the SU-152. Of course everyone is aware of the very famous ISU-152/122 series of SP vehicles but I think it would be REALLY interesting if there was a study of the SU-152. As far as I have been able to ascertain, there was such a vehicle as the SU-152.
Please excuse me if this is a simplistic request and that I've missed a whole series of information on this matter. I find the existence (..or not) of this armoured vehicle to have aroused my technical interest.

"Suka," was a pejorative applied to the SU-76, probably because it was lightly armored, had an open fighting compartment, and the Zis-3 field piece was marginally able to deal with the "cats" of the German army by the time the vehicle was entering widespread service. I helped restore an example kindly "donated" by the NKPA in 1950 (after 1st MARDIV Marines cleaned out the dead crew). It was then used against its former owners as evidenced by the large white star on the hull covering the original red star. At some point she ran over a mine which pierced the lower hull and the oil pan in #1 engine and spinning a journal bearing. After 40 years in the rain she was pretty ragged but after twelve hundred hours of sandblasting, priming, and painting she was proudly added to the collection at the Marine Corps Air/Ground Museum at Quantico VA.

The schematic drawings indicate the vehicle's ammunition stored around the loader's station right next to the hull, a hit on this tank, even one that does not fully penetrate would create spawling hot shards that would almost certainly ignite the ammo inside.
