      Husband and I make a Summertime variation of that. MACARONI cooked and drained, add in canned or packet TUNA (drained very well), add in Mayo (texture to your liking) and mix the above mentioned together. Once mixed-up add in canned or frozen (thawed) GREEN PEAS... folding the Green Peas in gently so you don't crush them into the mixture. Season to taste. I add in Paprika, Salt and Black Pepper (sometimes fresh Onion. Good hot or cold. It's a great 👍 Summertime Dinner or Cover Dish choice, convenient and easy.

    I went to Wall mart today purchase a lot of fresh vegetables in the produce section as well as a chicken checked out and it was simply $60. And a few cents. I will change my shopping habits and simply buy highly nutritious food and my cooked chicken and I can make it. Hallelujah I believe I can make it one week on this.

    I take a 25¢ ramen noodle package n add some leftover chicken from the night before and a handful of frozen mixed veggies about 1/3 cup. Bring water or broth to boil, add veggies let cook for about 3 minutes add chicken and noodles and cook for another 3-4 minutes and you have a quick, cheap n healthier (then just ramen) chicken noodle soup for 2. Cost is about $1-$1.25 per serving. I like adding the dry onion, garlic powder and cayenne pepper to mine

      It was really challenging for me too when I just had a cooler. My food was constantly getting soggy. Until you get a fridge one idea is using a lot of canned foods like tuna, chicken, roast beef and even canned hash or small low cost canned ham and other shelf safe foods like rice, beans and noodles or ramen. Veggies like potatoes also last pretty well. If you are camping with other folks you can take turns preparing meals and sharing so you use up what you cook.

Plus he drink water and mineral water. Gave up soda, and other drinks. Gave up breads. In other words gave up carbs. I drink tea and I have always ate small portions. Costco probably sells millions of cans of it every year. So, a lot of people don't mind eating it.

      Did you go to Costco? The chicken cones in 6 or 8 can package and is $2.31 per can. I got the rice at thr 99 cent store for 70 cents when they were going out of business. Thr total is $3.01 divided by 4= less than $1 a serving as stated in the video. You can substitute Zatarains rice at WalMart for $1.64 which would make still make it under $1 per serving.

      I said per serving. There are 4 servings or 4 MEALS.
      $ 2.31 plus 70 cents = $3.31
      divided by 4 =82 cents per serving. Which according to my math is less than a dollar.

    Something tasty but how healthy is the meal. High salt in rice spice and canned chicken juice preservative, rice not nutritional and high carb on glycemic index( not good for diabetics). We need to eat healthy. Also, this isn't a $1 meal. We can't even get a can of beans for $1 anymore. And, who eats only one serving size as indicated on the package ? I don't like to be a downer but I wouldn't be healthy on this meal.

    • @gloriouslifeonwheels3621
      @gloriouslifeonwheels3621  4 місяці тому +3

      Yes, it is a $1 meal per serving. As I clearly explained, the chicken was $2.31 and the box of rice was 70 cents. In my math that adds up to $3.01. Given 4 servings that is less than $1 per serving. You just wrote about diabetes and being healthy. I would think if that is a concern you would limit yourself to one serving. Me and my daughter did. I don't know where you shop but I am able to put together $1 per serving meals all the time. It just takes some creativity. This meal could easily be done as I explained with chicken not from a can and veggies could be substituted for rice. Again, reguires some imagination.
