My friend wanted to add a little more top speed without losing torque. He does a lot of highway riding, which made his Grom easier to get up to speed without getting close to redline. Plus his gears are a little taller now so he can go a little longer before he shifts It definitely is an improvement though because it keeps up with the flow of traffic easier now
@@JamesOnWheels not exactly so! here in Thailand the 2021 still had the 4 speed gear box in the SP Motor.....the 5 speed gearbox did not show up until 2022 model year.....I know I have one but it suits me fine here in BKK!

stock gearing being 15/38. why did you do 14/34 instead of 14/38?

@@xBernestox yeah for the 2021 and current models have a 38 teeth sprocket, it’s because it’s a 5 speed manual instead of a 4 speed
