      Love hunting on the treasure coast. I have another video after hurricane Nicole of some of my finds. Wish I lived there to hunt those beaches all the time. Best of luck to you! I plan to go down to fort pierce sometime in the eBay future to hunt too. Maybe I’ll see you there 👍

      @jameshabovick8949 found some good stuff south of Sebastian inlet. I’ve heard the beach sanding is awful. I understand why they do it, but it crushes us treasure hunters haha. Happy hunting and best of luck out there!

    I’m actually going to Hilton head in a few days and I’m taking my metal detector 😁

      Good luck out there! Lots and lots of tourists this time of the year. Was at the beach the past few weekends and saw no one detecting, myself included as it’s been very hot and had gatherings out there I need to socialize at vs detect haha. Towel line should be loaded and I would think plenty of people have lost jewelry in the water too. Thanks for watching, maybe I’ll see you out there!

    I found a $10 bill at the little disc golf course at the church on the island about a year ago.

      @@Burntchurchtreasurehunting I was making my way through the 4-5’ tall brush by the little river to get out of sight so I could relieve myself. Found it stuck in the brush. No idea how it would have ever gotten where it was.
      Would love to meet up sometime and detect with you if you’re interested!

    Hey I'm from Hilton Head! I need a better detector - I just got the basic garret to see if i'm into it not realizing its really only good for completely dry material. So mostly I only found heaps of trash and kinda got discouraged. But im moving onto a boat and traveling florida so I figured I should upgrade detectors and pick it back up! Especially now that Im finding shipwreck info! Thanks

    • @Burntchurchtreasurehunting
      @Burntchurchtreasurehunting  27 днів тому +2

      Lots of good wrecks in Florida. I have hunted a couple dozen times down there and have a couple videos up of the times I did find things haha. Minelab makes some good detectors for both saltwater beaches and dry land. Equinox models are solid and now that the 900 is out, it lowered prices of the 600 and 800. I use an 800 but am saving for a Excalibur ii, they just aren’t cheap. Best of luck hunting and hit me up if you want to go on HHI before you leave. I should be down there hunting the morning of the 20th this month most likely on Burkes

    Is the best time to go always after a storm? Every decade or so they dredge from off shore and dump it on the beach..I wonder if that would be a good time to hunt as well?

    • @Burntchurchtreasurehunting
      @Burntchurchtreasurehunting  27 днів тому

      Absolutely a good time, maybe the best outside of prime tourist season. Coligny is a good spot during the summer, you can go all hours of the night since you can park and walk. The other heavy populated beaches like Burkes and Dreissen have parking lots that close around 9, so you risk getting a ticket or towed. I’ve been on coligny a few times in the middle of the night after storms haha

    • @RamblinRoverMatt
      @RamblinRoverMatt 26 днів тому

      @Burntchurchtreasurehunting I never knew you couldn't park at chaplain park after 9 and I've been here for 10 years. But I'm down near coligny. I bet you could park at the end of singleton road and be good for a few hours. Only problem is at Hightide you won't be able to wall over to burkes on the beach because there's a creek inlet right there between em

    • @Burntchurchtreasurehunting
      @Burntchurchtreasurehunting  26 днів тому

      @RamblinRoverMatt correct and both. I usually park at the shops by coligny and walk over at night, normally in a group of 3-4 people (all detectorists). Yes that inlet on burkes breaks it up though. Found some cool stuff in it in the past though

    I have heard several times that there is an ordinance that prohibits relic hunting on the island itself, is this true ?

    • @Burntchurchtreasurehunting
      @Burntchurchtreasurehunting  Місяць тому +2

      It depends on where you go really. Beaches are fair game, some areas not so much. I use an app called Regrid, it allows me to check property owners etc to make sure where I am is public property. I stick to the beaches because I know I’m good there, I get private permissions for searching other sites in the area, Beaufort, Bluffton etc as there are lots of war relics in the area. Never had a run in with police yet 🤞 but know some that have, and they have just gotten warnings or asked if they’ve found anything. Trespassing would be different though I would think, especially on protected areas. Have you hunted down here before?

    • @johndubose1395
      @johndubose1395 Місяць тому +2

      @@Burntchurchtreasurehunting I am in Summerville and have never hunted there although there was so much civil war activity there.

    • @Burntchurchtreasurehunting
      @Burntchurchtreasurehunting  Місяць тому +2

      @johndubose1395 tons of civil war stuff here and other wars too. Lands End towards Fripp island would be a good spot too. Best of luck on your hunting! Hit me up if you want to hit the beaches some time. School starts back next week and it’ll be prime beach time with much less of a crowd haha.

      Thank you for watching. I will work on trying to perfect the craft for videos. Thank you for your feedback too as it definitely helps me improve. Without good feedback like that, I would otherwise not know what to do to make it better for viewers. Thank you again for the feedback and for watching 😊

      Give it a bit more time if you can we’ve had tons of tourists the past month or so. Work the towel line in the softer sand too, should be easier digging with items towards the top. Best of luck out there and thanks for watching!
