      The western media will continue to deceive and mislead the people with videos from decades ago in China, making them feel that they are living in paradise, and they don’t even want to face the reality. China has basically undergone major changes in five years, and the West is far behind, but they are unwilling to let the people know the truth. If China is so bad, China occupies 142 of the world's top 500 companies and ranks first in the world. These companies are all Chinese companies and have nothing to do with foreign companies. The United States spends $2 trillion on wars every year, but it has never cared about domestic Tens of millions of homeless people, the United States, the most powerful country in the world, is boasted by the media. It is so watery that it can’t even win Afghanistan. It spent 10 trillion dollars to attack the Taliban, and the gap between the rich and the poor in the United States is shocking. Shocking, 1% of the people control 90% of the wealth. China also has a gap between the rich and the poor, but it is far smaller than that of the United States. The key is that China has 1.4 billion people.

      I actually avoid talking about China, bc it always turns into a heated debate. In the end, even after presenting facts to folks who had zero first hand knowledge of their own, there’s lots of animosity and no minds are changed. The brainwashing here in the US is legit!
      Debunking fake news about China here is a totally pointless exercise that can be counterproductive, instead

      Oh, in every society there will have such sections of people, it depends what percentage of the whole. There are also rotten apples again that is the ugly unspoken sides in each society. Usually when times are hard & tough more of apples get rotten. Look at the West & the socalled free & democratic West. They have rotted & getting worst, Britain started rotting after WW2 thru to the present, US started 30 years ago, NATO started 10-15 years ago. Its now accelerating, implosion awaits them.

      @ex0duzz Рік тому +1

      That's both good and bad. Good since China's haters/enemies like USA underestimate China and allows China more time to catch up and surpass USA and west. Bad that neutral or friendly countries don't give china the respect it deserves but frankly I don't think China cares to talk much. They let their work/actions do the talking. Because it those neutral or friendly countries start giving china respect it deserves then USA and west will probably also wake up and attack China even more then already. China can wait another decade or two to get the respect it will inevitably get. But by then China will be too strong for USA and puppets to stop or contain China like with more chip bans.

    People who reflexively call others talking about the reality of China is a positive light "brainless" or "woman" are stating their ignorance and bias. As a Chinese who has lived in the West and have Western colleagues in China over 3 decades, I conclude that the people who succeed living as expats anywhere are those who are adaptable, open-minded and flexible. Wherever you roam, you will never change the environment, it will change you; so being positive and accepting you limits is key to stretching yourself and growing to overcome your limits. First reported by American Prospect on Feb. 9, the bill was stuffed into the China-centered America COMPETES Act that just got passed by the US House of Representatives. A majority of the half-billion-dollar fund go to the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), a state-run media service that oversees Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe (RFE), and Radio Free Asia (RFA), which have a record of "blurring the line between objective news coverage and pro-American propaganda," the article wrote.

Being a foreign teacher in good schools means you are getting possibly above average pay. There are still a lot of ordinary Chinese people working hard (I don't want to use the word struggling) to improve their lives. The proverb of Mu Lau Hu will change as time goes because there are more and more Yang Xifu and majority of Yang Xifu has never been become Mu Lau Hu. And when those Yang Xifu gets older they will also become new modern Ah Yee as in line with the policy of the central government of China which is Chinese Modernization.

    Cost of living in China is quite low for the common people that the average savings rate just went up to over 45%. That is people save over 45% of their salaries. Which other country could match that? In Canada and the US, a big chunk of salaried people live from paycheck to paycheck so the average savings rate is quite low, below 5% most of the time.

    • @blue-xb1cq
      @blue-xb1cq Рік тому

      actually more like ~75% for them. Just 3 years of savings and they can make a decent down payment for a 100 sqm flat. In London and NYC, not possible within a lifetime.

      Food, transportation, rent, is inexpensive in China. The culture of the Chinese is to save and they all have bank accounts. When they travel, they spend more than any other tourist. Ask companies that cater to tourist, they will tell you. A piece on Canada news yesterday that Chinese tourist are not coming to Canada, and many stores may go broke.

    You are such a breath of fresh air with admirable determination of opening peoples' eyes in the West, while some will eventually see the true and hopefully one day see China for themselves, make new friends, experience the Chinese culture. However, many whom are internally racist would only choose to believe anything negative about China and disregard anything positive. Sadly it will be their lost, they are being fed with lies from their government, media, daily news.....so, where is the Freedom of knowing the truth and freedom to decides their opinion of China? I guess the true Freedom in the West is not exactly what it is and quite the opposite, very sad.

    Expatriates coming from western countries enjoy a quality and standard of living than they would in their own countries with similar terms of engagement. This is especially true for posting to South East Asia and Far East. China, in particular offers personal safety with all the conveniences in a spectrum of services and facilities which otherwise are simply not available or are beyond their affordability.
    Modern accommodation, variety of delicious food, diverse cultures, most affordable transport and health care, together with non political freedom offer a meaningful life that many dream of. For those in the teaching profession, they are treated with courtesy and respect by the students, parents and the society. Teachers enjoy a high social status because once a teacher even for a day, you assume fatherhood to the students for life.
    Western media negative reports on China are for political correctness with their governments to stop China from progressing to threaten their global dominance. Practically all foreign visitors or residents share experience of a friendly China and praise its achievements, many of which are ahead of the developed West.
