  • Let's take a quick look at how to build a trailer hitch in Scrap Mechanic. This hitch is extremely effective and really easy to build. The mechanism only requires 6 bearings, 1 controller and 1 switch. I believe this design could be the best hitch possible in Scrap Mechanic at the moment.
Craft the hitch into a truck, semi truck, or train and let it pull anything you throw at it. The hitch is designed to do nothing but grab the trailer and not let it go. The trailer end of the design is built with a bearing so the vehicle can hinge and turn. The two top arms help lock the trailer to the forward car and not allow it to roll over. The four side locks help to prevent the trailer from sliding left or right and front or back.

Thank you for pointing out that we can do this. I literally use a lesser version of this hitch for my drill and saw attachments now.

have you though of using sensors on the trailer and have the legs extended by default so when you back the truck up it tucks the stand for the trailer up?

That's interesting. Though I don't know how you would go about disconnecting the trailer later.

hmpf... so i have to watch/search 2 videos
and in the other one, it's not shown how he build it , right? xD

+Taebs I made the other video first and then had some requests to show how the hitch mechanic worked. I'm sorry, I didn't know people would be so interested in the hitch. There is a card that pops up over this video to direct you to the other one if you are interested in seeing it in action so there isn't any need to search.

Oh okay. Then appologies my behavior.
First I do if i click a video is to dissable the "notifications" since they block the video with nonesense or commercial in 99%.
I didn't knew you are the 1% that use it for what they should be used for ;)

It's all good! I understand, those annotations were the most annoying thing there for a while. I do the same thing as you haha
