Amazing Sir choice of music spot on the amazing sounds of the who and Quadrophenia. I have the UA-cam app on my television so I was able to watch it on a very wide large screen and the impact of the music and visuals were wonderful so I aruge anybody who can do this to do it
So pleased you enjoyed it Martyn and also the music too. I will have to look at it on my tele too and see what it looks like on there. ;-) Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate that. ...........Graham
Well Done!! Loved this video -it reminded me of my first trip from Plymouth to Brighton on my trusty Vespa P200E in 1982 -231 miles each way and it didn't miss a beat -me and my brother - 2 up left Plymouth at 03.30 a.m. and arrived in Brighton a 09.30 . I'll never forget this trip and we are going to do the same trip this August sticking to the same times as i've just bought another Vespa 200 after many years of being without one due to marriage and kids etc. Can't wait to get back to the Mod Mecca!! You could NEVER explain just how good it was to someone who wasn't onto the scene.
Many thanks John and yes, I now have some fantastic memories I can recall whenever I want of this fantastic day, plus of course the ride bought back many memories of 1965 when Brighton was my local haunt so it worked both ways for me. ............Graham
Superb job you've done with the bike Graham and visiting the holy grail on her must have been brilliant. I could tell by the look on your face that it was a good run . My brother was one of the original mods back in the day ,riding his Vespa with a leopard print seat and raccoon tail on a tank Ariel. I was one of the 1979 revival bunch ,two tone suit and loafers. Well done ,on what looks a beautiful scooter ! Andy
Hi Andy and really pleased you enjoyed it and yes, I did too - much more than I thought I would if I'm honest. I didn't realise until playing the video back (which was taken by my good wife hanging out the car!) how much I was grinning and all those memories came flooding back as I rode through Brighton, just like I did so many times back in 1965 and also wearing the same Parka as back then too - it has been washed a few times though since then!! lol. A truly great experience and one I shall never forget. ..............Graham
Graham, Graham, Graham!.... Thank you for bringing back memories of my Vespa during the 1960's!... Wish I could have joined you on a fabulous day!... Cheers mate!
No worries mate and pleased that I bought back the memories for you as they did for me, it was truly a wonderful day and not to be missed. ...........Graham
Love this Graham, Bloody brilliant.... AND Wow... what a day . I had goose bumps just watching that big smile on your face while your having a blast on this amazing day.. A totally awesome road trip.... Scooter is looking a real beauty.. Thanks for sharing mate... All the Best Garry..
Well I don't know what happened there Garry because I replied and then it vanished!! Anyway, really pleased you enjoyed it mate and obviously by the look on my face at times then I did too!! lol. I didn't realise until I played back the video how much I was smiling - I looked like a baby with wind!! lol. I have to admit at having goose bumps too when I started off riding along Madeira Drive to park up and seeing the others looking at the scoot, I felt quite proud. I'm so pleased that I made the decision to go and do it because I just know I would have regretted it if I had not gone. All the hard work was worth it, just seeing the amount of people photographing it was worth it. Thanks for those kind comments mate and as always, they are really appreciated. ............Graham
its ok if you loose a message, just don't loose the plot... well not yet... lol All that hard work was most definitely worth it, and one of those things you just have to do.. totally amazing again... when watching you I could feel your passion and excitement of those months getting the scoot ready for that one amazing experience, awesome.... Just got to plan for next year now.... ;- ) Garry
We have been looking back over the year so far and to think what we have achieved - garden projects, Lakeside and the scooter - we haven't done too bad really!! Absolutely no way could I go back to work again, I'm really having too much fun!! lol. Don't worry mate, I won't loose the plot just yet a while - I just don't want to loose my marbles because I've got some crazy oners and twoers and a couple of fivers as well. ;-) Cheers for now Garry. .............Graham
Tch! Sheer luxury - we had to break old glass bottles and roll the glass into balls over stones (in the snow with no shoes - couldn't afford shoes) to get our marbles - kids of today just don't know they're born!! lol.
I have a thing about the "comedy mod" that you often see I.e trying too hard and forgetting less is more at times (especially the clothes some clowns wear) however .. when I seen your face smiling driving down to Brighton and that classic tune it brought a lump to my throat! .. well done you and living your dream .
Thank you Gordon, you would think at my age I would have grown up but I just wanted to do this just one more time - to relive my youth back in ‘66 wearing my original Parka which I had then and I wore it with pride (an M48) which apparently is quite rare now but I would never sell it, it has too many memories! Thanks for the comment, really appreciate that. Cheers. ………..Graham
Simply superb Graham. Great to see my home town again too. So all that is left now to completely interlock the two hobbies will be the arrival of a scale model of the Scoot on Lakeside :-) Thanks for brightening up my day. Cheers, Bob
So pleased that you enjoyed seeing your own home town again Bob, I raised my arm up for you like I promised I would when I passed the Brighton Gates. It was utterly brilliant and I so enjoyed myself. I do have a mini me on a scoot the same colour outside the cottage where I am just setting off for a ride - maybe you missed it, it hasn't got all the mirrors and chrome on it though so that could be a winter project for me!! ;-) ............Graham
You've probably seen the video Bob but just check it out at 3:47 and you'll see me and the scoot. ua-cam.com/video/Zg65g9MKQm0/v-deo.html Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
What a magnificent day mate, the scoot looked fantastic and you had beautiful weather.Glad you had a great time and are back home safe.Next trip on the scoot ,South Devon for a cream tea. Naahh forget the tea a Crabbies on ice !!well done ,fab video..Craig and Maria
I had a ball Craig and Maria, what a fabulous event that turned out to be - the ride down there and back plus the day at Brighton - I couldn't have asked for more. I'm very lucky to have had the chance to do this and I have to thank my lovely Hazel and family for encouraging me to do it and I'm so glad they did. Yes, Crabbies went down a treat when I got back actually when no doubt you heard me burp - sorry about that! You want to try Crabbies and Vodka - that's even better!! lol. Not sure I could do the trip all the way down to Devon though but worth a thought. ;-) ...........Graham
Well done Graham, your scoot looks brilliant, you certainly have your blind spots covered with those mirrors mate, some of those had more Bling than Mr T.
There's not much I cant see to be honest, some are useless but most will give me a decent view of the rear but they're mainly just for show apart from the four on the handle bars - they are working mirrors. ;-) ............Graham
I said I would see you on the tele , just watched it on my tele and it looked fabulous . A very memorable occasion for you and your family .......Peter
Really excellent idea and very well done-i'm getting another scooter soon and will definitely do the next Brighton weekender just like i did back in 1982-that was an unbelievable weekend
Many thanks for those kind words mate, really appreciate that. My scoot is now up for sale as I now know that approaching 70 then I’m not really up to it anymore, a great shame but I need to be realistic, it’s been great fun though and that weekend was magical for me - just like I did for real back in 1965! 😉. ............Graham
Brilliant video Graham and brilliant soundtrack too. Looks like you had a fabulous day.... the smile on your face says it all. What a great turnout too, so many great scooters and period outfits too lol Everyone looks proud and quite righlty so.
Absolutely true in what you said, you could tell that the vast majority of folk there were proud to have been there and also being a Mod too. I think everyone there was having a great time, it wasn't just me who had a great big grin on their faces, a fabulous atmosphere all day long. Thanks for the comment mate, much appreciated. .........Graham
For myself I am a Biker or was, though you certainly seem to be enjoying yourself on the ride down grinning ear to ear! The pleasure of two wheeled transport has to be experienced to understand. It looks as though you all had a great time..
Thanks Stuart and yes I did enjoy myself, very much thanks - I think the grins gave it away!! lol. You're right though, nothing like that feeling of freedom when riding. Fantastic atmosphere the whole day. ..........Graham
Graham, the Flight of the Bumble Bees never sounded as great as the scoots left for the ride out. What a fabulous weekend for all who took part with even the weather adding to the occasion. Start your planning for next year now.
Hehe, yes I know. I have no idea what that sound is from but it's certainly not the exhaust or engine noise - maybe I trapped a bee inside the camera casing!! lol. The whole of the weekend was fabulous but I guess my favourite part was entering Brighton on my scoot - so many memories came flooding back to me from when the last time I did that way back in 1965 - I was even wearing the same Parka!! The planning has already started for next year! ;-) .............Graham
Really enjoyed the vid. Brought back memories my Dad had a red and white one sold it to a young bloke who altered it beyond all recognition chrome and dozens of mirrors. Lovely to see smart dressed people in the film
Thanks Mick, there were some awesome looking bikes there too mate, not just scooters - I was very tempted to turn to the dark side after seeing one (haven't a clue what it was though lol) but it looked superb. Glad you liked the Who track, there aren't that many people around who don't like The Who. ;-) ..........Graham
Nice one Graham, finally got a chance to view your video on my laptop and a really enjoyable watch, all i could see was a very happy MOD with a permanent massive grin across his face lol!! your scooter looks incredible and the colour scheme looks amazing , well done on having a great weekend in the sunshine with all your fellow MODS MODS MODS !!! cheers DAZZa
Many thanks Dazza and really pleased that it was worth it for you. And if you could see me now then that stupid grin still hasn't gone!! lol. The scoot went really well, just a few hesitations to begin with - crap in the fuel I think but the ride home was perfect. And to me she looked perfect sitting alongside all the other scoots and didn't show me up in any way - I was in fact feeling really proud with a sense of achievement behind me. ;-) Thanks for watching mate and the comment too. ..........Graham
Hi Graham. Brilliant vlog. Think you had the best looking one there. Hazel looked good on the scooter as well Looked like you were really enjoying yourself. Thanks buddy. Pete.
Thanks Pete and yes, I think you can tell from the big smiles that I was really enjoying myself, the ride down was just awesome especially entering into Brighton, it bought back so many happy memories of when I was 16/17. Happy days! 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks like you had an absolutely fantastic day and made priceless memories. I hope the weather will be as good when I get down there. Just bought a 1964 Li 150 to restore, so possibly make it in 2018 with a bit of luck. Scooter looks fabulous, every credit. Take care on the road
Thanks mate and yes, it was a fabulous day, it turned out to be the hottest day of the year. I decided over Christmas to sell my scoot in March, I’m getting too old old for this now and I don’t feel safe but she did me proud and got me my dream so time to sell and move on. Take care mate and hope you make it to Brighton this year. ;-). ..............Graham
Fantastic day out be the look of it, and the smile on your face, could almost smell the two stroke engines. Thanks for the picture and mention. You made me search through a few boxes of old pictures, I managed to find 3 of my old TV 175 (200), all taken in my parents back garden, one with me alone on it, one with me and my sister and one with my mother on it. All in black and white. The scooter had 1 airhorn, a fly screen and a small front mudguard, a backrest covered in rabbit fur. They were the only extras, (we was poor in those days, gov, ner), but I remember thinking it was the best scooter around. Robin
Hi Robin, this was the first TV I saw there so I thought I had better shoot this just in case I don't see any others but there were quite a few in the end which I'm sure was as god as yours. ;-) We all had a great time and I'm really pleased now that I made the effort to go, it was fantastic and the weather helped a lot too, the turnout was massive , I have never seen so many scooters all in one place all at the same time - just incredible and that 2 stroke smell - lovely! ;-) ............Graham
Thank you very much Dom, yes to say we had a great time is an understatement - it was bloody fantastic and I really enjoyed the ride into Brighton and no one can take that memory away from me which will live with me now forever - that was such a great feeling. ;-) Pleased that you enjoyed it mate, that's the main thing. ..........Graham
Couldn't sod the rest Dom, not in my nature as such, I do what I want most of the time but I do take into consideration other people too but the problem is you try pleasing over 4000 people - that really is asking for trouble so I have to just try and hit the middle ground and go with it - then I sod the rest because I know I ain't ever going to win with those !! lol. ;-) .............Graham
Graham .. greetings.... Looked as if you had a fab time, glad the weather held out for everyone. Some very nice scoots on show, recognised one from around our area as seen him out and about nr chester. Glad all went well... happy memories ... cheers ... steve
Thanks Steve and yes, I (we) all had a great time and of course the weather helped a lot too. The scoots were from all over the country which was good to see. Happy memories indeed of not just this event but also the happy memories I had which came flooding back to me of 1965 when I was last riding through Brighton on a scooter!! lol. Thanks for the comment mate. ...........Graham
Hi again. I have now watched the video. What a great day you all had. One little thing to mention.... On the basis that to break one mirror brings 7 years bad luck I hope your scooter never falls over !!! Great video Graham.
Thanks Michael and if that ever happens then I may as well go out and shoot myself because I doubt very much if I have got 7 x 22 years left - I may as well get it over and done with !! I could of course just thumb my nose at superstitions and enjoy life like I'm doing now!! lol. ............Graham
I'm glad you enjoyed it Stuart and it bought back some memories for you as it did for me and yes, I was smiling a bit wasn't I !! lol. I really was enjoying myself. ;-) ...........Graham
Looked like an amazing day out, and glad you were able to get there & back with no issues! Maybe that can be your next project for Lakeside Graham on his bike.. Might even be worth a trip for me next year just to soak in the atmosphere as there were simply MODs everywhere.
It was a fabulous day out Roberto, I have actually go a mini me on my scooter outside my cottage on Lakeside so that is covered too! ;-) You would enjoy it if you are into this sort of thing, I saw several Italian photographers around with their assistants taking photos of the scoots and the mods with all their Mod cloths on and some looked fantastic and had obviously made a real effort, one took a photo of me on my scoot so I don't know where that will turn up!! lol. ............Graham
fantastic Graham !! brilliant video of your great day..loved the ride !....couldn't have done it without The Who !!!!..perfect...and of course behind every great mod there's a great modess !! really pleased for you mate..mission accomplished cheers dave
Brilliant! criminal not have played Quadrophenia. You looked the business and so did the scooter. Even had the urge to shout "Bellboy" at the screen :) well done
Thank you very much Greg, it was a fabulous day and I couldn't have asked for more. Would I do it again? At the drop of a hat now! Thank you. ...........Graham
Congratulations Graham, what a fabulous experience for you, well for you both and it was lovely to see you smiling so much, I think that's what two wheels does for you, makes you forget everything else and takes you for the best ride of your life. Sunday 27th August 2017, officially declared the hottest August bank holiday on record, Mr Graham Foulston, wearing a Parker, priceless :0) Proud of you matey.
LOL. Mark, all I can say is that I didn't care how hot it got, there was no way I wasn't going to be wearing that Parka on the way down or going home either - I was looking at some of the people wearing a T shirt and thinking to myself oh how they would laugh if they fell off because their injuries would obviously not hurt!! ;-) The main thing was I enjoyed myself as you no doubt spotted by the amount I was smiling which looking at the video, seemed most of the time!! The Parka came off immediately I parked up. ;-) Cheers for now buddy. ..........Graham
So glad you enjoyed it Stephen, you would have loved it there if you had gone, the atmosphere was brilliant and I loved every minute I was there. Another thing I can tick off the list to say that I've done it and will hopefully will do again next year. ;-) ............Graham
Thank you very much Reinhard, I guess being as happy as I was is the main thing for me and believe me, I was having my own ball sitting on that seat riding through Brighton once again on a Lambretta, it bought all the memories flooding back the last time I was doing that which was 1965 - it was just a fabulous experience that I will never, ever forget. ;-) ..............Graham
Your enthusiasm and excitement was infectious Graham. I'm so glad you enjoyed the run to Brighton. The scoot was beautiful, the lady on your arm was beautiful, You were...Did I mention the lady on your arm was beautiful? LOL! Great fun my friend...Regards, Solomon
Solomon, I am so pleased that you enjoyed this, I certainly did my friend and it has done me a power of good in so many respects. Yes, the lady on my arm is beautiful, not just in looks but in her nature too - I'm a very lucky man indeed. ;-) You take care my friend. .............Graham
Great vid Graham(inc music) Glad you had a great time.Invoked some memories (great) for me. You had great weather too.i'm glad it all worked out good for you. Jack
Thanks Jack and yes indeed, it did work out being a fabulous weekend with as you say, great memories and lovely weather too - I'm really pleased that I made the effort to do this now and will hopefully be there again next year too. ...............Graham
First and foremost well done Graham making the Brighton run and home again safely. Music is my real pleasure since I was 14 (1979), but I would have been on the other Quadra' side in my leather jacket back then. I great song choice with the lyrics theme of things as I've Had Enough too, as you well know Graham. A lot of Chrome on display which always looks well on a summers day. Though I would be kicking myself if I spun out and had seven years bad luck x per mirror - lol. Looks like a great day and run for you, with plenty of fine accessorised scoots on show and yourself looking the part in your Fishtail and all the MOD (pun intended) Cons. Your scoot looks great and nice that you had a support team, backing you up throughout the weekend, which is always appreciated by any reasonable person (so well done folks). The only thing would be the amount of grey to black oil to petrol mixed fumes you inhaled. Especially that you have committed to stop smoking now and I think you got your yearly dose in one day of coffin nails - lol. Thanks for sharing, as miss riding my beauty a Yamaha YZF R125 these past four years with my health issues and it sits outside (no garage) looking miserable, unloved (but she is), and needs a good clean up, service, mot, and insured again. Plus on the QT I would be still riding on L plates still since my first motorcycle bought in 1995 (Suzuki GN125, the YZF is my 2nd) to enjoy the open road on two wheels.
Thanks John, we had a brilliant weekend and it went exactly how I wanted it to go. I didn't go on the ride out and filmed it for about 10 minutes, you're right though the smoke from all those scoots was too much for me and had to pack it in - one of the reasons I din't go on the ride out as you have to sit and wait for ages before you all set off. But nevertheless the experience of the day was what I went for and I wasn't disappointed. ..........Graham
Well that is the main thing, to have a great time. As for the smoke, yeah sitting behind them all with an open helmet you'd be coming home black and being called sooty - lol. Lucky for me for my past ride outs I have a helmet with opening notched positioning viser, but also it is hinged to lift the bottom chin right up to one's hair line. So I don't have to take my lid off to drink, eat or have a puff. They are great and help to keep the bad weather off your face too than a open face lid.
wow full respect on forfilling your dream i to would like to do that trip but at 55 i thought i was getting to old for it but you at 70 has refired the dream many thanks alb
Hi Albert and thanks for the comment. Yes it was my dream come true and I had an absolute ball and thoroughly enjoyed myself that day and riding through Brighton was unbelievable - I had goose bumps at times seeing people turn their heads and looking. But now that I have done it then I will now sell the scoot and pass it on to someone else to enjoy. The joy for me was getting the scoot ready for the trip and of course the trip itself. I don’t want or need to do it again so it’s now time to sell. Take care and hope that you have the chance to complete your dream too. ;-) ...........Graham
You had so much fun and it came across on your video. Loved the music. Seemed like the Lambreta overshadowed the Vespa on the sea front. All the best, Barry. Devon.
Hi Barry and yes, I did have fun - felt very proud too as I rode along Madeira Drive to Park up, basically a years worth of work on the scoot and passing the CBT all was coming to fruition in one hit - fabulous. I have to admit in having a few goose bumps along that part of Brighton, it was a fabulous feeling of a sense of achievement in that I had done what I set out to do. I'm pleased you liked the music too, that's a special track for me personally which is why I chose it. ;-) Thanks for the comment Barry, I really appreciate that. ..........Graham
Noticed a lot of scooters heading south on the A12 Lowestoft to Felixstowe (on my way up to Halesworth) didn't notice you out and about! some great still shots though, enjoy your riding
Thanks Vince but Lowestoft would have been in the complete opposite direction to Brighton which was where I was heading although they do have great turnouts along the East Coast apparently - maybe one for my next trips out. ...........Graham
Well done Graham, you did well. Looks like it was well attended & great weather, Glad you enjoyed yourself & I guess it'll be same again next year. Liked the music, nothing wrong with the Who.......!!!!! - Kev
Cheers Kevin and yes, you are spot on about me enjoying myself, I have to admit that about a month ago I wasn't sure if I was going to do it but so glad I ended up doing it in the end, I would have kicked myself if I had not gone. ............Graham
Brilliant Graham Reminded me of my youth, was a Mod myself, I had many Scooters started off with a brand new Starstream traded in for a GP 150 then bought and rode lots of Li's TV's SX;s and best of all an LDB 150 which i regret selling to this day. A real rarity now as you are no doubt well aware, your machine looks and sounds great if you look after a Lambretta it will run forever i will look out for your next Vidio on you Scooter. By the way currently rebuilding my layout with lots of great idea's coming from you, Richard Dave and amazing John Regards Alan Massie
Excellent stuff Alan and so pleased that you enjoyed it mate and it's great to have another Mod that understands what it's all about! ;-) Your scoots sound amazing from what you had in the past, the photo of the GS160 I showed was mine I was rebuilding about 9 years ago so I had to put that in when the words "I ride a GS scooter with my head held high" came on! ;-) Pleased that you are rebuilding your layout again and yes, look around YT and you will see many layouts where I too get my inspiration from, it's all to do with sharing and helping other folk achieve what they want from their layout - good in'it !! ;-) ............Graham
Nice video Graham, I can see that you really enjoyed the day as in every shot you were beaming all over your face! You also managed to find some unusually good Bank Holiday weekend weather. ................John
Hi John and thank you for watching the video, I appreciate that this kind of subject matter and also the music is not to everyones taste on what is essentially a model railway channel and so to receive as many comments as I have is a terrific response - so thank for at least watching mate, that's really appreciated. ;-) ..........Graham
Brilliant. Glad you got the weather and the smoother (than your street!) roads. Scotland took the rain this weekend for you mate!!! ;-) Nice shots from the wide load escort vehicle behind you too. You must have swallowed some insect life with all that grinning you're doing! I have to say, MAD 7's headlight display aside (he must tow a spare alternator behind him!), at such a large gathering you more than held your own with your mighty steed, and looking very dapper yourself. Been looking forward to this video and it didn't disappoint. Well done mate. Cheers.
Sorry about pushing the rain up into Scotland for the weekend but you know I needed the good weather! ;-) It was worth all the insects being swallowed to e able to grin like that, I couldn't stop!! Anyway, thanks for the comment Davie, it's always appreciated mate. Thank you. ...........Graham
Graeme, well done bud, like the video, I'm an old Mod myself (have 3 vespas), i too want to visit Brighton on bank holiday (its a hellova mighty trip for me by scoot, i live in Edinburgh).
I was indeed a lot of fun, very much so. If you look at the photo of me and the wife sitting on the scoot then the beach is directly behind us with easy access down to it. Or of course you could just jump over the green railings!! lol. ...........Graham
Cracking vid mate, I'm very jealous, it's something I longed to do for a long time but need to get a scooter first (some day) and a ride from Glasgow to Brighton may take a bit of planning. Your scoot is tops mate, very nice indeed. Well done Sir.
Fair play to you buddy. Great scooter. Did you have far to travel? No issues with the Who track , it's your video after all. I only gave issues with the "40 somethings fancy dress" on the scoots in Brighton. There aren't many real Mods left. Just Mod for the day type. Well done sir.
Hi Graham. Pleased you did it no serious bother - that's a bit of a trip for a vintage vehicle......and the scooter. lol . All credit to you for doing the trip with L-plates, and any critics would definitely not be Mods or motorcyclists. Forgot how good The Who were. Well done. Alan.
Theres always going to be the critics Alan but no matter, no one can take away from me the fabulous memories I have now of that wonderful day - pure magic! ;-) I thoroughly enjoyed myself which is the main thing. .........Graham
Hi Graham, that may have been your first, but after a day out like that, I'm sure it wont be your last. Sun, sea, sand, and loads of mod,s on scooters. great video Graham. Cheers John.
A little tip for you Graham .if you want to play this on mobile go to share and tap copy link then go to safari and paste the link then press and hold the refresh button and it will say request desktop site tap on that and it will load the desktop version of UA-cam on iPad and iPhone
Thanks Oliver and pleased that you enjoyed it. Thanks for the info on the YT fix as well, I did know that but hopefully if others read your comment too then that may help, I think I may demonstrate how to do this in a future video as this is going to crop up many times - not just on my videos but others too. .........Graham
No worries Lester, we can both have recent memories now. ;-) My memories of 1965 came all flooding back to me as I was riding through Brighton again - fabulous and I couldn't stop grinning!! lol. Such a good day all round including the great weather too which helped. ............Graham
Thank you John and yes, 'scoots' will do just fine. ;-) I think we all had a great time all helped along by that fantastic weather we were blessed with. Thanks for watching mate. ..........Graham
Looks like you had a fab time. grinning from ear to era. just a heads up, although you have done your best to blur out the car number plates you can still the red cars plate clear as day in the reflection of your blue Audi
Glad you had a great mod weekend....I presume the was good from all the great comments.....only it says video not available? .....regards fred..ps all other channels and vids are fine puzzled 😕 fred
Hi Fred, the problem is because you are probably trying to view this either on a phone or tablet which do not allow the small adverts that accompany any video which has fully authorised copy write music on it (which mine has on this occasion), you can watch this on an ordinary laptop, desktop computer or even a television though - bizarre and a real pain in the a*^e. Sorry about this but it's a UA-cam thing which I have no control about but in my defence I did put this at the very beginning of the information box just below the video which you should be able to see and read. ...........Graham
Thanks Graham.....I didn't read the drop down box bit , and yep I only use iPad.....I loose the will when trying to use my old old laptop lol ....will have to watch on TV tonight hopefully that'll be ok ......a pleasure to hear from you ....fred. No doubt it'll be a thumb up !
No problems Fred and sorry to cause you a problem just viewing this video, it really is a pain but hopefully you will enjoy it when you get home later on. It's worth remembering this problem though because this is happening a lot now, not with just my videos but other peoples videos too. I have had this and just thought nothing more about it thinking that it was deleted or I just wasn't allowed to see it for some strange reason but no, it's because of the music content not being able to play on mobile devices because of the associated advert that goes along with it. Anyway, thanks for getting back to me and please let me know if you manage to view it - thumbs up or not!! ;-) ..........Graham
I'm not sure how many were there to be honest Mark, it was very hard to gauge because there were so many and spread over quite an area. There were a few there with more mirrors and certainly more lights than mine - they made mine look quite tame. The ride out I showed was a fraction of who went out, I didn't show more because I didn't want to bore - just to give a flavour, but it was good. ;-) .............Graham
So glad you enjoyed yourself. lovely area the in laws live in as well. couldn't get there as i had to work at sea. really wanted to get along and see you. as you say, next year!!!
No worries Des but now that I've been once and experienced the atmosphere there then I'm sure I will be going again - hopefully next year so as you say, maybe we'll meet then. ;-) ............Graham
No Des, the scoot needs a clean but that can wait a bit as I now have loads of other jobs to do and catch up on as well as Lakeside. ;-) ...........Graham
Wow Graham Excellent take's me back to the good old day when I was a Drummer in a group and I had my scooter your Scooter look fantastic Graham and it looked like a good day was had by all well done: George
Thank you very much George and glad it bought back some memories for you, my memories were all flooding back to me as I was riding through Brighton again too. We all had a fabulous time which was the main thing. Thanks for commenting George. ..........Graham
Thanks David, well now I have done this then it has given me more encouragement to take my full test so you never know, maybe next year then it will be sans L plates. ;-) I think we all had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for the comment mate, much appreciated. .............Graham
a nice bike with just one gripe lose the L plates, if you have already passed your test well done and the music was great I have been a WHO fanatic since they first became a band they are the best
Cheers mate and thank you. I have decided to sell the scoot in April, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself over the last two years builder her up and making the trip to Brighton - something I have wanted to do since 1965 when I was a Mod with a lammy, I've now got that out of my system so it's now time to move on especially as I'm nearly 70 and I just don't feel comfortable on my local roads. But it has been great and have no regrets, so no need to take my test but if I were to have kept it then I would have taken it. Thanks for the comment mate - much appreciated. ............Graham
Hi Graham. Any idea why this video has come up with a "This video is not available" caption for me please? Given the comments it is probably something I should be doing I guess?
It's a UA-cam thing Philip, you are probably trying to view it on a phone or tablet, you can view the video with no problem on a laptop of desktop but no mobile devices - sorry about that mate but that's the only way because it contains music which requires a small advert which phones and tablets don't like. ..........Graham
No worries Philip - I just hope it's worth it for you. I have just watched it on the big telly and it's come out well considering the bumpy roads of Brighton!! .............Graham
Thanks Red and the thanks should go to my wife who did most of the videoing because I was otherwise somewhat busy enjoying myself!! Cheers for now. ...........Graham
In the cavalcade did you notice any scooterists with more mirror power than Graham Daltry ?? I only spotted one possible contender. Bet the over-riding smell of wintergreen in 25 degree heat was something to behold....( I hope I die before I get old ) my generation baby !!
You only saw a fraction of the ride out as I didn't want to bore people too much but there were many with more mirrors or about the same as Purple Haze has so she was not over dressed for the weekend by any means. ;-) ............Graham
Thank you Norman, I'm pleased I went and it turned out to be a great day for all of us. ;-) Cheers for now mate and thanks for the comment. ........Graham
Hi John, It's because you are viewing it on a mobile device - phone or a tablet, Please read the reply I wrote to Tase above where I have describe how to solve the problem - I did put all this in the written description. Thank you. .......Graham
Just out of interest - can you see my description and what to do if it is unavailable plus all the comments or is everything not available? Cheers. ...........Graham
Many thanks Richard and no, 42 is not baking hot - it's ridiculous !! lol. I would die in that kind of heat. I was in Tenerife a few years ago when it was 42 and it was unbearable for me and many folk not used to that heat. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
There were a few mobility scooters there Dave all dressed up with mirrors and lights, one chaps riding his even had a German style WW2 crash helmet on and so I'm sure you would be made most welcome!! ;-) ..........Graham
you have a truly awesome scooter my friend its a real head turner,i had a px 125 back in 82 im now 54 & thinking of getting back in to the scene & videos like this just inspire me to do so. ps NEVER apologize for playing THE WHO people either get it or they dont
not complaining about the music this time Graham! saw the film in the ABC, East Street, Brighton, when my town was still "edgy" and not spoiled by a load of bearded hipsters who think their London money can buy the place.
Cheers Paul and thanks for the phone call too, really appreciate that buddy. What a fantastic day that was and the grin as you said just says it all, pleased you enjoyed it though - I certainly did and it was so worthwhile going and glad I did it. Thanks for the encouragement mate. ;-) ...........Graham
Glad you got to do the ride Graham, a true memory for you. Well done.
Many thanks John and yes, I now have some fantastic memories I can recall whenever I want of this fantastic day, plus of course the ride bought back many memories of 1965 when Brighton was my local haunt so it worked both ways for me. ............Graham
Watching this in 2024, beautiful bike. I missed the 60s and later MOD revival. Would love a nice scooter, tempted. Hope you’re still riding Graham.
Thanks for those kind comments mate and as always, they are really appreciated. ............Graham
its ok if you loose a message, just don't loose the plot... well not yet... lol
All that hard work was most definitely worth it, and one of those things you just have to do.. totally amazing again...
when watching you I could feel your passion and excitement of those months getting the scoot ready for that one amazing experience,
awesome....
Just got to plan for next year now.... ;- )
Garry
We have been looking back over the year so far and to think what we have achieved - garden projects, Lakeside and the scooter - we haven't done too bad really!! Absolutely no way could I go back to work again, I'm really having too much fun!! lol. Don't worry mate, I won't loose the plot just yet a while - I just don't want to loose my marbles because I've got some crazy oners and twoers and a couple of fivers as well. ;-) Cheers for now Garry. .............Graham
We could never afford marbles... had to use Grandad's glass eyes..... lol....... 8-)
Cheers. ………..Graham
@@GrahamFoulstonyour welcome .. handsome scoot BTW.. Nice paint job .
@@gordonspence6544 Thank you, it’s sold on now as it did the job I wanted it to do, I still see it occasionally on Facebook though.
Yes Graham I did miss that. An excellent suggestion for a winter project. Cheers, Bob
You've probably seen the video Bob but just check it out at 3:47 and you'll see me and the scoot. ua-cam.com/video/Zg65g9MKQm0/v-deo.html Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Got it!!!
;-) Excellent.
Hehe, I'm famous then - even if it is on your own tele! lol. It was a great day Peter in every respect, I'm so glad I did this now. ............Graham
Wow..What fun!!! I certainly enjoyed riding along!! I hope you get to enjoy that more than once a year...
Oh no doubt about it, this won't be ridden just once a year - just not ever in the rain!! ;-) ..........Graham
Lovely to see smart dressed people in the film
well done Graham, i'm not a scooter man mine was a Triumph Bonniville but i'm with you on the music. Love the Who.Mick
Hazel looked good on the scooter as well
Looked like you were really enjoying yourself.
So glad you obviously had a fantastic time mate! Brilliant video, fantastic music, lovely weather. Job is a good 'un mate! Well done.
Dom
Thank you very much Dom, yes to say we had a great time is an understatement - it was bloody fantastic and I really enjoyed the ride into Brighton and no one can take that memory away from me which will live with me now forever - that was such a great feeling. ;-) Pleased that you enjoyed it mate, that's the main thing. ..........Graham
With the best will in the world Graham, the main thing is that you enjoyed yourself. Sod the rest of us! Thank for uploading the video!
Dom
Stunning scoot, Graham. Top tunes too! Great video. Only a bit jealous! ;)
I reckon that's the best way. Certainly mine!!!
Wonderful trip down memory lane Graham, great to see how chuffed you were on the ride down. Well done.
I'm glad you enjoyed it Stuart and it bought back some memories for you as it did for me and yes, I was smiling a bit wasn't I !! lol. I really was enjoying myself. ;-) ...........Graham
Smashing video Graham. you were grinning from ear to ear, music perfect for the video, and a very under rated "Who" track, all the best Mark
Many thanks Mark and really pleased you enjoyed the video and the music too. Thank you. .........Graham
Many thanks Dave and so pleased you enjoyed it mate and as you say - mission accomplished - onto the next one now. ;-) ...........Graham
Brilliant! criminal not have played Quadrophenia. You looked the business and so did the scooter. Even had the urge to shout "Bellboy" at the screen :) well done
Well done! Glad to see you had a really fab time. A glorious day for a tip out and a day at Brighton.
Thank you very much Greg, it was a fabulous day and I couldn't have asked for more. Would I do it again? At the drop of a hat now! Thank you. ...........Graham
Beautiful Scoot! I have a 1964 Li150 in my shed awaiting the funds and time to restore - one day!! Music fantastic also.
Congratulations Graham, what a fabulous experience for you, well for you both and it was lovely to see you smiling so much, I think that's what two wheels does for you, makes you forget everything else and takes you for the best ride of your life.
Sunday 27th August 2017, officially declared the hottest August bank holiday on record, Mr Graham Foulston, wearing a Parker, priceless :0)
Proud of you matey.
Great stuff Graham! Wish I could have been there...like old times!
So glad you enjoyed it Stephen, you would have loved it there if you had gone, the atmosphere was brilliant and I loved every minute I was there. Another thing I can tick off the list to say that I've done it and will hopefully will do again next year. ;-) ............Graham
Hi Graham ah yes the thrill of being on two wheels, all looks like good fun to me. Great sound track as well very well done Dave.
Many thanks Dave and pleased that you enjoyed it, we certainly did and I had a great time riding through Brighton once again. ............Graham
Great machine, Great weather, Great day and what a Great experience! Oh boy, you did look so happy........Reinhard
Glad you had a great day , scooter looks fantastic and cool music to go with the clip !!!
Cheers Glynn
Excellent Glynn and really pleased you enjoyed the video and the music that went with it - I did!! ;-) ..........Graham
Hi John and thank you for watching the video, I appreciate that this kind of subject matter and also the music is not to everyones taste on what is essentially a model railway channel and so to receive as many comments as I have is a terrific response - so thank for at least watching mate, that's really appreciated. ;-) ..........Graham
what other song would you have played?! brilliant choice of sound track to act as a back drop to that fucking belter of a scooter and weekend
Did the motorcycle training people allow you to learn on your lambretta,or did they insist on a motorcycle?
Thank you. ...........Graham
looked a superb day mate !!! thanks for sharing!
No problems and glad you enjoyed it. ;-) ............Graham
Where did you start out from Graham, if you don't mind me asking? You looked the dogs by the way.
Lovely scoot, great video and really enjoyed it, will hopefully see you in Brighton at some point!
Beautiful bike mate enjoy thanks for the video
Graeme, well done bud, like the video, I'm an old Mod myself (have 3 vespas), i too want to visit Brighton on bank holiday (its a hellova mighty trip for me by scoot, i live in Edinburgh).
Ever thought about racing it at the Isle of Man TT 😂
That looks like it was a lot of fun. How far a journey to the beach?
Music was perfect for it too.
I was indeed a lot of fun, very much so. If you look at the photo of me and the wife sitting on the scoot then the beach is directly behind us with easy access down to it. Or of course you could just jump over the green railings!! lol. ...........Graham
Oh, I meant... how long a journey from your house to the meet, at the beach.
Oh sorry, I misunderstood you completely then, I think it was about 40 - 45 minutes journey time, something like that.
Love, reign o' er me,yes,a great song, nice one! 10/10 for the scooter and video in general.
Hi Graham, that may have been your first, but after a day out like that, I'm sure it wont be your last. Sun, sea, sand, and loads of mod,s on scooters. great video Graham. Cheers John.
Absolutely100% true John, if I can do it again next year then I will definitely be going. I had a fabulous time there . ..........Graham
Graham really enjoyed this ride and thanks for taken us out for a ride lol cheers Robert
Hope it wasn't too bumpy for you Robert!! lol. Glad you enjoyed it mate. Cheers. ..........Graham
Just found this video. Beautiful scooter Graham. Really nice 👍
Looks like you had a great time Graham. The who song went with the video very well I thought . And well done to your camera crew .
A little tip for you Graham .if you want to play this on mobile
go to share and tap copy link then go to safari and paste the link then press and hold the refresh button and it will say request desktop site tap on that and it will load the desktop version of UA-cam on iPad and iPhone
Really Enjoyed that Graham, talk about bringing back memories of Brighton And Margate on our scooters .Thanks
No worries Lester, we can both have recent memories now. ;-) My memories of 1965 came all flooding back to me as I was riding through Brighton again - fabulous and I couldn't stop grinning!! lol. Such a good day all round including the great weather too which helped. ............Graham
Great holiday with a lot of very lovely scoots (hope I got that name right lol). Nice one Graham and thank you for sharing :)
Thanks Steve and the plate is being blurred as I type but it takes a while to process but it is done - thank you. .........Graham
Whatch ut for the postman.
Great vid Graham 2 thumbs up on your scooter but did i see one with more mirrors on? How many scooter there this year mate?
I'm not sure how many were there to be honest Mark, it was very hard to gauge because there were so many and spread over quite an area. There were a few there with more mirrors and certainly more lights than mine - they made mine look quite tame. The ride out I showed was a fraction of who went out, I didn't show more because I didn't want to bore - just to give a flavour, but it was good. ;-) .............Graham
Congratulations Graham on a fantastic achievement for you and the scoot 😁 Love the music too, can't go wrong with the Who 🇬🇧
Thank you Paul and exactly my thoughts too and glad you enjoyed it - I certainly did. ;-) ........Graham
Now it's back to the 5:15 and out of your brain on the train 🤔🚂🚂🚂
Hehe, God he looked a wreck in that scene didn't he!! What a brilliant film though. ;-) ...........Graham
I find that after wiring point motors I look in the same shape 😂😂😂
Hehe, I know what you mean Paul, unfortunately for me I look like that all the time!! lol. ........Graham
So glad you enjoyed yourself. lovely area the in laws live in as well. couldn't get there as i had to work at sea. really wanted to get along and see you. as you say, next year!!!
No worries Des but now that I've been once and experienced the atmosphere there then I'm sure I will be going again - hopefully next year so as you say, maybe we'll meet then. ;-) ............Graham
look forward to it. your folks are only up the road a bit from here as well. i suppose its scooter clean before the next episode of the trains !!
Good on you Graham. looks like you had a ripper of a day. Get off those "L" plates though!
David
Ah, okay. Thanks Graham. I'll wait until I get home then. Thanks again.
No worries Philip - I just hope it's worth it for you. I have just watched it on the big telly and it's come out well considering the bumpy roads of Brighton!! .............Graham
Great Video, Great Scooter and a Great song
karl Joseph Clarke Thanks Karl - what a fabulous day that was! Cheers for now mate. .......... Graham
Great video, looks like you had great fun, perfect weather for the ride too ....James.
It was indeed James and thanks for the comment mate - much appreciated. ..........Graham
Nice scooter Graham. good job on the video. I could see you had a great day good on you.
Thanks Red and the thanks should go to my wife who did most of the videoing because I was otherwise somewhat busy enjoying myself!! Cheers for now. ...........Graham
Yeah caught ourselves on your upload mate, Coasters SC. Cheers.
I really enjoyed this video and thanks for sharing 🏍
No worries John and really pleased you enjoyed it mate. ;-) .............Graham
Fantastic Graham, so glad all went well :-)
Thank you Norman, I'm pleased I went and it turned out to be a great day for all of us. ;-) Cheers for now mate and thanks for the comment. ........Graham
Why carnt I see this video it just says this vid not available
Hi John, It's because you are viewing it on a mobile device - phone or a tablet, Please read the reply I wrote to Tase above where I have describe how to solve the problem - I did put all this in the written description. Thank you. .......Graham
Graham Foulston thanks graham great vid some thing I have always wanted to nice one and thanks very much

Just out of interest - can you see my description and what to do if it is unavailable plus all the comments or is everything not available? Cheers. ...........Graham

Congratulations from a Lambretta man Italy!
Great stuff Graham. (P.S. 42 is baking hot!!!)
Many thanks Richard and no, 42 is not baking hot - it's ridiculous !! lol. I would die in that kind of heat. I was in Tenerife a few years ago when it was 42 and it was unbearable for me and many folk not used to that heat. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham

ps NEVER apologize for playing THE WHO people either get it or they dont
not complaining about the music this time Graham! saw the film in the ABC, East Street, Brighton, when my town was still "edgy" and not spoiled by a load of bearded hipsters who think their London money can buy the place.
One Word...BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!
Anytime mate, i enjoy having a chat with you, better than messaging here.
Absolutely - speak again soon. ;-)
I did not know you were into heavy metal.
