So as for said theories about this song, I think that the girl's group of people has separated itself from other cultures of the world because of some strange disease/infection/virus/whatever as represented by the eyes graphic pattern. (There's more below) For whatever reason this girl ends up attached to or using this machine that seems to be showing her the past possibly, which is why she says she doesn't understand anything and why she says lines like "a wall that doesn't seem to be built with wood" or the line about "extremely straight lines in the air." The first one being some kind of manufactured structure made of metal or plastic or something else inorganic, and the latter, if you watch the video, seems like missiles or something similar. Additionally, she talks about "synthesized/composite/mixed earth and earth" that appears to be quite poor soil. That sounds like it might refer to radioactivity? I feel like this in combination with her ignorance implies they might be in some post-apocalyptic time. The second verses talking about the Reptile Tribe I don't really have anything solid for except that it may be talking about some kind of gas weapon? It's worth noting that when she first mentions the reptile tribe, it shows images of swords with reptiles wrapped around them, which might fit in with the first tribe being warlike also, and could be another reason they separated. Also, in the last section, it shows the eye pattern spreading out from the curved pattern that the reptile tribe created. So, continuing, in the process of being attached to this machine, something goes wrong and she gets "infected." It might even be that she was seeing the other girls memories(with the face paint) and that somehow that girls personality infected her(hence her suddenly having the paint). Which may even mean it's an infection that spreads through information, like to have knowledge of the thing means to be infected by it. More thoughts: Basically everything gets infected by that disease, whatever it is. The girl's ID tag, if that's what it is, is "Nephna" written in whatever runes the artist is using. The fact that the adults never really talked about the problem may relate to the theory that the disease is information. Even talking about it could incite an infection. In any case, part of the problem is that this song is a part of a concept album I believe, and that album only has 4 songs with lyrics, and 2 of them don't have lyrics online anywhere, so i can't really study them. The rest of the album is instrumentals. So it's quite possible more of the story is revealed in other songs. The other song Calla Soiled has uploaded on his channel is from the same album. That song doesn't really reveal a whole lot, but it does seem to have a theme of genetics just from the art, and this video does as well, so I think genes and the information in them is a theme at least. So yeah. -Gasarocky
I'm so late, just to say that the part from 3:00 to 3:35 is the "Chorus A", reversed. Afterwards ("until 4:00") are just echoes(?). And whatever heard in the conclusion isn't something reversed, so... We need another approach, if we're to use it in the discussion.
there is a thing called "information hazard" that put you in danger just because you have that knowledge/information so I think your theory that it's an infection spreading through information is very possible, though it's not actually "infection" but just getting harmed by knowing it. more like a curse on top of that, there's "Roko's Basilisk" that is a kind of information hazard so the reptile eye at the very beginning of the MV and at 4:38, and the reptile on the sword may be a reference to it by the way, I think the "synthesized soil and dirt that seems so pitiful" is just concrete floor...maybe? the same with "a wall that doesn't seem to be built with wood" that's probably a cement wall
2 years late to the discourse but my interpretation is that the uh Nephna girl is observing both advanced cultures (cage tribe) and primitive cultures (reptile tribe) and seeing that they both make the same mistakes. Comparing/contrasting the two tribes helps demonstrate that humans have not changed in this regard no matter how much time passes. much like in our own world where people see the hypocrisy of our actions but do nothing to stop it, so she too sees the repeated ignorance, and is frustrated with it. At the end perhaps it's implied that her own culture is facing a similar dillema, and she blames herself.
The name "Nephna" is written in the old slavic script, Glagolitic as "ⰐⰅⰒⰘⰐⰀ." It renders the letters N, A, P, H, N, A, literally to the script. Since it is pronounced "Nefna", a better transcription to Glagolitic would have probably been "ⰐⰅⰗⰐⰀ." Glagolitic is based on the Greek script, but not as directly as Cyrillic is, which proceeded and replaced Glagolitic as a script to write slavic languages in.
Thank you for the compliment haha. It's certainly easy to make a bad translation of this because it's context is so unclear. I had to do a lot of theorizing to help the translation make some kind of sense to the listener. ~Gasarocky
MikuTetofan Yeah, the word for "extremely" there is "超(chou)" which is basically "super". The word I TLd as "curved" could also be "warped" but going by the graphic I picked "curved". And lines is just lines so yeah. Straightforward but just unclear in the first place. I feel like it's just supposed to be some kind of technology. ~Gasarocky
My interpretation for the eyes painting over everything after the DNA shift is... how after some cross cultural, personally significant catalyst comes to pass... fear, assumptions, and first impressions will be more powerful in constructing and perceiving realities, as opposed to script, language, communications, and our humanity.
Seems a war to me.. i also saw this album's CD cover its like definetly againts unknown creatures.. I hope they are make another clip but its seems not posible bcuz its like abandoned album for now..
@@cleanStr Its about humans being tribal and civilizations collapsing over and over because of it while humans ignore the civilizations that collapsed in the past repeating the same mistakes over and over
Always thought this song was about how minor differences like culture and in the genetic code (like for skin color) are misunderstood and feared by ignorant people, leading to genocide.
Yo yo, I'm not being rude or anything I swear, I REALLY like this song and the subs are deliciouS just-- I've been going through videos, and I understand people without epilepsy wouldn't know to mark the video as " epilepsy warning ". I know its not tumblr LOL but its important here because the videos, and Im epileptic and kinda getting an affect from here. So I'm only asking it would be super cool to just put " epilepsy warning " here or something--thankyou;;; and i love this song buT I CANT WATCH THE VIDEO CRYING
Aw man sorry that never occurred to me, do you think a warning at the top of the description will suffice for most people? Or perhaps a quick annotation will be necessary? I'll try and take this into consideration from now on whenever a video has quick/bright flashing lights and whatnot, which I assume is the issue here. ~Orio

You might be on to something in regards to the virus/disease theory. Much of the background art has cellular qualities to it.

This song is truly beautiful it really deserves more attention

I remember this song, interesting art :'D
Finally an understandable translation! Such a good song.

I only wonder what she means by the Extremely Curved Lines.

These are no runes but old cyrilic alphabet. Some day I might translate...
