Defense looked great, sad to see Dean go down after having such a great year. Hopefully that second LB position doesn’t become a hole for other teams to exploit.
Ugly or not, the birds advance and I'm happy. And, they're still at home. That gives Dean time to heal up (if he's not done for the season, that is), for any mistakes during the game to be worked on, etc. My favorite moment of the game? Q finally got his INT when it was needed the most. Happy the birds got the W. Onto the next opponent. Fly Eagles Fly, baby!
He had a brace on and crutches, he might be done. Really hope the MRI says differently and maybe we get him back for the NFCCG or the Super Bowl. edit: Nvm just saw the news, torn patellar tendon, he’s out for the year :(
Considering all of the injuries in this game he chose to protect the team by taking a couple kneels vs putting the defense back on the field or potentially injuring himself when that play literally sealed the WIN
Saquon really is what Philadelphia means to me. Most people in the fan base wanted him to score and stat pad. Imagine if Jake slipped and injured him self on the PAT. Instead he slids and makes sure everyone is safe. He’s that guy thats knows what you want, but does what is needed 💪🏾
Highlights make the playing look better than it was. If we can’t execute the ending result then highlight plays are pointless. I hope we tighten up next week
They’re not dangerous though … with all the turnovers and players the packers lost and how bad the pack played eagles should have smoked them by 40 points .. It’s a win but not a good look for the eagles against a packers that were playing with bench warmers and qb basically handing them the ball. Hurts and the wr need to step it up because Barkley can only do so much
Hey bro, The Pack and their fans are the absolute class of the North, looking forward to the next matchup, maybe Lambeau next time, I’ve always dreamed of visiting for a game…
I'm glad we got the win, but Hurts and the passing game will have to be a lot better if we're going to go all the way. Hope it was just rust. Also, the defense needs to do a better job covering short out routes to the sideline. They kept allowing the Packers to get 1st downs on those types of plays. Whether it was a communication issue or a coverage issue, they need to make an adjustment. Besides that, the defense played amazing as per usual. My last concern is Elliot still missing kicks. I hope his play doesn't cost us a chance to go back to the Superbowl. I left this game with a lot of concerns on offense and special teams. Defense is the only reason I'm optimistic.
@Deepestdrip Like I said, he missed a kick. An extra point is still a kick, an easy one at that, and he missed it, no excuses. I don't care if he's got an ingrown toe nail he shouldn't miss an extra point. Yea, it happens, but that coupled with all the misses this year, especially beyond 50, is worrisome. He only made the 3 kicks cause all of them were in the 30-yard range. He's been off all season, especially at long distance, and it looks like he lost some leg power he had a 50+ yard field goal attempt that didn't have the distance, wasn't wind either. Cause I know that excuse will be coming. Lol
@@Ps4User-zs1wy Well it was snowy and windy on Sunday, and Jake again made all 3 FG attempts, including one from 44 when it was coming down hard. What's the excuse now bozo?
@Deepestdrip You were the one with excuses, jackazz! I never made excuses for him. You're the one who just made excuses for him again, bringing up the weather conditions. Yea, that's a factor, and I'm glad he made all his field goals at least. Especially in those weather conditions cause the reality is snow does affect things. You do realize that missed extra point almost cost us the game? The final score was 28-22. If our defense didn't stop Stafford there we lose by an extra point. That's my whole point in my 1st comment. I hope he doesn't cost us like he almost did in this 1. Anyone who's watched all season knows Elliot has been shaky at times he's down to 78% success rate with field goals overall, and beyond 50, we don't even want to talk about that percentage. Get at me when he makes a 50+ yarder. If the coaches even trust him to kick from that distance at this point, we've been punting it instead of going for field goals at that distance. He makes a 44 yarder and you act like it was beyond 50 and he proved something I said wrong he hasn't. Everything I said was on point. Later Clown!
First time I went to an Eagles playoff game in person. Goedert's TD and Baun's pick competed for the most amped I've seen an Eagles crowd in a while. Highlights don't show it, but Hurts still needs to stop holding on to the ball so long. Resulted in a lot of drives stalling out. Let her rip and trust your guys to catch it man. Tanner showed us that it can be done.
As much as I get annoyed with him holding the ball, I'd much rather him throw it away instead of forcing it and causing a turnover. I think the mark of a good QB is the decision making to not do anything dumb.
@@_fameONE - but he didn’t throw the ball away either. The third down conversion rate was pathetic, that has to get better. It’s not all due to Hurts, they have to fix more than just him.
As much as I hate his opinions, Dan Orlovsky posted a tape review on Hurts and said that he actually played great for what the defense was giving him. Nobody could get open. The dudes that did, he was able to get them the ball on time in the right spot and they both scored. He might have missed maybe one throw to AJ over the top that would have been a TD if he took a bit off it. He had a QBR of 111.4 lol. Kudos to Green Bays defense, they kept playing hard.
Mostly positives to take away from this game. The D balled the F out with 3 TOs (4th one was STs on the opening KO) and holding the Packers to 10 points. Love came into this game on a fairly hot streak with minimal TOs over his last 8-9 games. Plus the physicality on both sides of the ball and the way the Eagles imposed their will more as the game went on was great to see. The only issue I have, and it was something I was concerned with coming into the game, was Hurts coming off a 3.5 week layoff and having to face the Packers' D that's a top 10 unit. He protected the ball, which is playoff games is even more crucial than regular season, and didn't turn it over so that's a plus. He's going to need to see the field better and go through his reads quicker going forward if we're going to make a SB run. He didn't have to put the team on his shoulders this game, but there might be a game where he's going to have to do it and he's going to have to be sharper than he was today. Again, I wasn't expecting to see Hurts lighting it up this game due to the circumstances, but we need him to have shaken off the rust in this game and be better starting next Sunday vs the Vikings/Rams. I did like how he stayed in the pocket on the first TD to Dotson where most of the time he would have sprinted out to his right. Also like that it was Dotson he found so that showed he was keeping his eyes downfield while maneuvering in the pocket. Some of it is the play calls, like where's the hot read when facing a blitz? They still haven't incorporated that into the O at this point? When every commentator, post game pundit, and even loads of us fans are yelling for them to have routes for when there's a blitz and yet they still haven't done it, how the Hell does that happen? You have Barkley, FFS, you have a big athletic TE in Goedert, you have slippery Skinny Batman who can create his own separation and yet you don't use one of these guys as a safety blanket for when there's a blitz? They can do more things to help Hurts be better. When you're going to practically abandon 1/3 of the field (the middle) then you need to be creative with your O and its schemes and have viable options for your QB on a blitz situation. The good news is the Packers are the best D we'll face on the NFC side. Think they were ranked 7th overall with the next best being the Washington team at 13th then Lions at 16th, Vikings at 20th, and Rams at 26th. So if this was the O's toughest test and they came through without TOs and did enough to help win the game then that's something to feel good about. Just have to hope Hurts shook the rust off and they will add some creative wrinkles that will help make them less predictable to defend.
Yes they won. I expected a close game. They maybe should have taken better advantage of the turnovers. Jake missed an extra point. Dean got injured. But it was pretty good.
i am only going to say one thing about the field goals and point afters. Look at how the kicker plants his foot and how he moves after he kicks it. He has already decided in his mind how he will move and the plant tells you all you need to know. I used to be a kicker. Look at the videos of kickers that do well versus kickers that do not. Slow it down after the snap.. don't get me wrong a bad snap or a bad hold is something to overcome, but if you do slow it down, you will see the kicker has already decided which way to move after he kicks it. The plants tells you where it will go,
Love to see Barkley’s selflessness with that last run, nice job by him making sure to end the game without rubbing it in

Slow it down after the snap.. don't get me wrong a bad snap or a bad hold is something to overcome, but if you do slow it down, you will see the kicker has already decided which way to move after he kicks it. The plants tells you where it will go,
