Hey everyone, I'm SO happy this one's finally out - first and foremost because it's been requested so much over the years. I hope it was worth the wait for all those who did request it :) Secondly, making this took so much longer than anticipated, since on top of all the usual everyday life (hehe...) stuff, Coronavirus caught up with me after having evaded it for all those years. I'm doing a lot better now (although still not nearly 100% recovered), so I really finally wanted to get this one out. Anyways, I'm pretty happy with how this vid turned out. It's such a cool acoustic song and works really well with just one guitar. That being said: it IS actually quite challenging! Beside "Sleeping Sun" probably the toughest one I've done on this channel. If you're trying to learn it, be sure to bring a lot of patience :D And make getting the picking patterns down first the priority. Also, I think it'd be interesting to do a video about Coldplay's alternative tunings. It obviously seems impossible to include every song but just an overview of some of them. I know you have a tight schedule but it's just a suggestion. And also, do you plan to ever make tutorials with electric guitars? I notice you barely have them and I think some Coldplay songs are great on electric guitar.

Hey nice - thank you :) Yeah, it really is kind of tricky. It helped me a lot to check out the instrumental version of the song that's flying around on YT. In the original, with the voice, quite a lot of the guitar parts get buried under the vocal track.

Hey Rece, thank you so much :) Glad you're enjoying my cover. As for mics in this video, I used an AKG Perception 220 + the built-in pickup of the guitar. Those two go into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface. For recording software, I use Logic Pro X with some basic reverb, delay, EQ and compressor effects :) Hope this helps! I’ve been “getting by” with just a Blue Yeti mic for my guitar and vocals but it seems to always create some sort of weird sound whenever I’m recording vocals for my little covers on Instagram. Soooo I figured I would look for something new! Plus, I could use a better quality mic for recording guitar for my band too so this could possibly be a good choice!
@@rece.w Hey no problem - anytime :) I've been using a K&M 23956 pop filter for a year or two. Nothing too crazy, pretty cheap, but hasn't let me down so far! As for mics, I've never used anything other than AKG, really. I've had this one for well over ten years now - can really recommend 🙂
