The floating rock thing you're talking about is called a Lagrange point. See below and check wiki.
In celestial mechanics, the Lagrange points are points of equilibrium for small-mass objects under the influence of two massive orbiting bodies. Mathematically, this involves the solution of the restricted three-body problem in which two bodies are very much more massive than the third.

35:30 it's not under water, the whole place is upside down, if you flip it upside down it is definiitely a pond or some sort, you can even see stairs going to the water. so technically the lector is shooting the light "down" into the pond. we and the lector are in the roof.
This upside down city kinda brings back to mind that theory Ashikai had about the world of Teyvat being itself upside down underwater in the real world, with Kaenriah being actually in the right direction, with the Irmisul tree at the center of it all... idk how it could make sense but I was surprised she didn't bring that up.
If the city is flipped relative to Teyvat, and Teyvat's bubble is upside down, maybe that's the real surface the Heralds are trying to break through?
If the leylines are a kind of life-support recycling system, and Dainslief is somehow tied to them, sustained by them, breaking the shell of the world would probably screw with that.
@@morlock2012 possibly, even though I doubt the Chasm would go that deep, implying it is physically linked to Kaen'riah (if it really is in the underground...).
As for the leylines, to say it metaphorically, it would actually be like bleeding because of a cut, so, yeah...
I wonder if the Husks are remnants of other members of the Twilight Guard, of whom Dainsleif was the Twilight Sword. The black Husk armor overlaps quite a bit with Dain's look. He is also titled as the Boughkeeper, which fits if he represents the blue-coloured Irminsul trees.
The second I saw Venti I immediately hc that he went to Inazuma because he's angry Angel share banned alcohol at their event so when hearing Ei opened the frontier he ran there after weeks of being sober because he can't replace Angel share with Cat tail
He surely has alternative motives like figuring out for himself what happened with Signora (even though he surely already knows) attempting to catch some gossip with Ei or both
I wonder how he's gonna do that last bit, since he said he and ei wasnt on speaking terms for quite some time in his voicelines
Venti is also a famous bard in Teyvat, so maybe that's why he's there. The first festival in the post-sakoku-decree Inazuma where he can enjoy sake and authentic inazuman celebrations sounds right up his alley! I'm more surprised that he didn't join the lantern rite than seeing him there 😂
[Edit]: What if the irminsul mushroom is actually a tree that's upside down? We don't see the top, but the roots of an unearthed tree with some fungus in-between?

With regard to the the "multiple planets gravity fields interacting in funky ways" that sounds an awful lot like Lagrange Points. To quote from NASA's page:
"Lagrange points are positions in space where objects sent there tend to stay put. At Lagrange points, the gravitational pull of two large masses precisely equals the centripetal force required for a small object to move with them. These points in space can be used by spacecraft to reduce fuel consumption needed to remain in position."
There are five Lagrange points in two large mass interactions. L1 is the most relavent for this case.

Fungi are important for trees in real life. What if the mushroom takes dead energy (i.e. memories trapped in the roots of the irminsul tree) and changes it into life energy for the tree.
Mushrums in natural world work like communication device betwen the trees.
I feel like Ayato is going to be the Kaeya of Inazuma. I have the same "I work by my own rules" vibe from him.
I’m REALLY hoping there’s gonna be some Albedo/Yae interactions because Albedo’s voiceline about Xingqiu implies that he doesn’t really like Yae’s way of going about things, so I’m excited for any savage remarks he may make.
Also, OMG, DAINSLEIF HAS FINALLY BEEN RELEASED FROM THE ABYSS AFTER A YEAR OMG- I have been waiting for SO LONG. When Dain is in an archon quest, you know, it’s about to get lit. I want 2.6 to start NOW BRO, I need the details-
The black stuff that was around the hilichurls did remind me of Xiao yeaa! I was thinking we might get some more yaksha or archon war lore, since there is a new artifact set that looks like it’s pertaining to the purple yaksha, so that could be an interesting development.
But anyway I’m just rambling lol, this update looks super hype, and I’m really excited! :DD

I'm thinking the upside down city might be mechanism based. Depending on how the mechanism is turned will affect which way we access the rooms/buildings of the underground city. Thinking about anything else is 100% Painslief as you so eloquently put it
The first thing I thought of when the upside down city was mentioned was Albedo's trailer, that one bit of the video where he is falling and he has Mondstadt upside down in the background. Not sure it has anything to do with this but that's where my mind went instantly lol
Venti was also in the event quest in midsummer adventure to summon divalin so klee and others can go to the islands.
i have always thought the reason the MC couldn't go through the portal cuz they were too late and it was about to disappear Dainslef just super speed into the portal and made it just in time XD

Thats what I think too.
What makes me think that's NOT the case, is that the traveler's limbs are outlined in red as he passes through the portal. That didn't happen to the other three.
I like to think about it as the portal rejecting the Traveller rather than it just not working, like the abyssal twin was trying to keep them out. Maybe Dainsleif was too fast to be stopped, I don’t know

Pretty sure that the nameless yaksha will be one of the harbingers . Also its very sus that there are fatui tents in the chasm and one of the new artifact sets fits the nameless yaksha .
Didnt one of the yakshas sacrifices itself on the chasm to avoid something happening to liyue? The chasm crater having fatui is a interesting part although i think they are merely searching for celestia/archon relicts from the ancient meteor that fell there, who knows...
the upside-down city reminded me of the upside-down venti statue in the "we will be reunited" quest, I was thinking maybe whatever the abyss order was trying to do then, is taking place on a larger scale in this new archon quest...
I took Dainslief being affected by the light thingy along with the husks and hillichurls as a Khaenri’ah connection between him and the rest
one thing, that crystal you said looked like the traveler's ascension material: it looks like it would be the next level of ascension material, as if there was a phase 7
one other thing I noticed but is unrelated and haven't never heard mentioned: klee isn't human, she has long pointed ears, she's an elf
@@flikersprigs5641 We already knew Klee's (likely) an elf, and speculate that Alice might have been one too. Or if not, then whoever Klee's father is/was. It's just that, at this point in time, we have practically 0 concrete information on elves in Teyvat, so it's not talked about as much yet. At best, there's speculation that they might be, or have ties to, Enkanomiyans, because the statues in the region have their heads effaced, as though those heads had identifying features (say, elf ears) that someone in-game (or the devs themselves?) didn't want to be made known. Also, one of the gods they worshipped was Eris, whose name rendered into Inazuman as Arisu. (= Alice?)
I'd love to get ANY crumbs on them at all, and I doubt we'll get that in 2.6, but hey who knows!! Fingers crossed (and sorry for this long comment 😭)

We actually were going through the portal the herald made in 1.4, we just didnt make it through all the way because it closed.(the red lining around aether/lumine as they were going through the other side indicates this)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one that immediately saw the comparison of the Brilliant Diamond Gemstone when we saw that Abyss Lector scene
I wanna bet that the white/gold energy is light/pure elemental energy. I remember in the prologue that Venti states that Hilichurls are usually don't like to hang out in places that are rich in elemental energy, but we know that the Abyss order can force them to do so anyway so they eventually adapt. And since Tsumi from the Three Gateway Realms event was cool with this light energy and not the black void energy its definitely at least related closely to elemental energy more than anything.
I think the Abyss Order wants to have control over light realm energy for their Loom of Fate operation. Perhaps it brings another type of destructive power that can bring down Celestia?
I'm actually more curious to know if the Traveler will hesitate in stopping the abyss order directly controlled by their sibling. They never hesitated in stopping Enjou because its a personal project unrelated to the Loom of Fate operation. I still remember that refusal to help take down the vision hunt decree until they saw the destruction its causing. I feel like the same thing will happen.
We get a commission to inspect the chasm from the Adventurer's Guild, meet Dain and probably sass him. Refuse to get involved, investigation results are clear and the Abyss Order are causing harm so in order to get those sweet mora and primo gems we shut down the operation.
Sorry bro/sis, we'll journey through Teyvat but if the Abyss Order is in the way of my primo gems I'm taking them out 😂
Just realized that the irminsul-mushroom-thing we see in the trailer kinda looks like the big flower thing in the Serpent’s Bowels. I’m not sure if that means anything but it’s there
I think Ayato is not a gentle person versus the way they presented him to be. I am excited for him anyways.
Good observations on the waters above the actuator thingies. I thought it was like a converted energy of the light hitting the cube. I just hope we get an exciting exploration mechanic for Chasm aside from the lamp.

I think it’s interesting that you brought up the point of the abyss order having to turn on and off specific light pillar thingies. Maybe it works as sort of a switch to create specific railways and paths that the abyss order can travel through. Just something to think about :) because all these ley line pathways AREN’T PERMANENT, they don’t have a set road you can travel through. I assume that these ley lines and railways are forever changing and the roots can connect to different parts of teyvat and lead to specific destinations depending on how they are manipulated which brings me back to the whole abyss order changing those weird light pillars. Or i could be completely wrong 😭
When you first mentioned the light pouring in, the first thing that came into my mind is a black hole, because light gets sucked into a black hole. And the skewed time also makes sense, because we are supposed to have time dilation near a black hole! Now while I'm writing this, I just remembered one of your previous theory which compared ley line energy with radiation. So, what if the ley line is the equivalent of 'Hawking radiation' of this black hole and the irminsul tree is the 'Dyson sphere' that the primordial ones created to harness the radiation?!
Now these portals also look and function like worm holes. They let you travel to different places in the space-time and they are technically spheres which look like holes from any angle it is seen from..
It's just a random thought.

In honkai, cubes are associated with the Honkai, and when you get corrupted by honkai you do get a square cuby pattern on you. And Asmoday is a chara based on the Void Herrscher who is a sort of corruption of Sirin/Kiana.

Maybe the Dragonspine nail wasn't easier for the abyss order to get to. Let's take on count that the Dragonspine one is on an vast open space, this means that, even if the Adventurers guild said it was extremely dangerous, there still were adventurers coming in and going out of the mountain (as we've seen in the Shadows amidst Snowstorms event in patch 2.3), plus the nail was absolutely stuck into enormous chunks of ice, wich without the mechanisms of the quest, would have been an absolute pain to take out of there. Coming again with the open space thing, it would have been super easy for anybody to notice that the nail could be floating and surrounded by black/purple smoke wich would mean that the Abyss Order could not work in peace
Maybe this is why they took the nail in The Chasm, and not the one in Dragonspine, taking on count that this nail and the Abyss Orders activity would be way more hidden under ground
I really enjoy your theories and analysis videos, it helps breath life into the game and while speculative, you connect seemingly small parts of the story and its nice to entertain the ideas.

2:21 we actually did see him in V1.6 before arriving to GAA... we rode on his private Airplane named Dvalin express, and he had to summon Dvalin so... technically we last saw him in V1.6 which is obviously after V1.4 which was the windblume festival + we will be reunited Archon quest with Dainsleif and abyss twin.

35:25 If we do flip our own gravity (or whatever variation thereupon) to explore the upside down city, then it’s entirely possible that water is a pool with some kind of light source at the bottom (which could make sense. Maybe.) and the light… pillar… construct… thing isn’t coming down out of the water but up out of the water.
I’m just spitballing (obvs) but I think it’s an interesting idea.
The portal thing with the sibling put a whole new level on: "stop coming into my room when I'm chilling with my friends!". Everyone else was allowed entrance aside from MC who was outlined in red. Kinda feels like the sibling specifically targeted MC.
Random headcanon about why MC couldn’t enter the portal from We Will Be Reunited is that the Sibling actively put seals on certain portals so MC couldn’t follow them until a certain point / until they can make their own portals
I also found the whole underwater thing was really strange! Is it a break in space time? There shouldn't be that much water considering the chasm is super inland.

You know it’s possible the Irminsul “tree” may not have to be trees at all. I know most of them are trees and yet the mikoshi blossoms like all the other trees when we use resin or the light energy. The mikoshi just blooms into coral branches but the structure itself isn’t an actual tree. It is however connected to the leylines.
And when I think about it, the narukami tree isn’t a “natural” irminsul tree either as it’s something that shouldn’t exist. It’s connected to the leylines but it’s not a natural phenomenon. I’m feeling that the mushroom may be something similar, bc what if it was originally created by the thing that crashed into Liyue thousands of years ago? Another synthetic irminsul then? They’re powerful but they can’t naturally be activated by just using our resin at least not in one go. We cleansed the narukami tree by visiting multiple vulnerable roots to power/refresh the tree, with the mikoshi we had to hit those three towers to refresh it, and it looks like we’ll have to do something here to refresh/power/save the mushroom.
Tldr sybthetic irminsul trees can be built/placed over leylines to unleash huge amounts of power but to do so requires multiple access points to be charged and used as people are too weak to activate it. The mushroom is being activated by the abyss and I think they want it bc it’s an unclaimed major access point to the leylines.

Theres a story i dont remember where i read or heard it ingame but they say that the reason why the chasm is being shutdown is they dig something and all it contact fell into a endless sleep or coma.. sounds like the meteorite on unreconciled star event and the interesting thing is the chasm is created by a large meteor thousand years ago.
An interesting thought:
What if the skyfrost nail in the chasm isn’t being surrounded by corruption, but is rather gathering it, and collecting/containing it.
It was previously theorized that the cubes of the sustainer, similar to the ones that are coming out of the chasm nail, are meant to contain.
Which leads to An interesting thought part 2:
What if the nails are an extension of the sustainer. The connection with the cubes does seem to have some idea behind it.
It would make sense with the idea that the skyfrost nail was sent down onto dragonspine by the divine.
I saw somewhere they te seal could have been made or commissioned bij the Liyue Qixing. The commission could have been accepted by Hu Tao who sent Zhongli or Zhongli him self

When I saw the trailer for the first time I thought the abyss mage was sort of "summoning" and not activating the "tower" from somewhere above the "surface" I guess (I like your analogy of being underwater) which looks like some sort of "portal". Maybe he's trying to bring back the rest of the city? I also think the stone thing looks really like the traveler ascension gemstone, moreover, the only thing we know about this stone is its description "welcome to this world". So, maybe the mage is trying to bring back this ancient city because the traveler sibling wants to "bring their homeland to this world" just like the abyss mage said in the cutscene back at the game beginning. Well I will not try to speculate further than that, it's kinda hard when you try to explain your messy thought in another language (sorry if there are any mistakes, I play in french so it's hard to describe or name things ) PS= great video as always
on the very last point you made, the enka corner realm tower thing, its producing water. the only other thing i recall doing that so far in the game is the very top of the dainichi mikoshi directly under the helios cube itself. i think either in one of the books or from argos' dialogue, its mentioned that light,wind and water are linked and theres some kind of creation shenanigans there but yeah. as soon as i saw that upside down tower that seems to be MAKING water i was immediately reminded of the one in the dainichi mikoshi making water too. now what the hell that means? beats me lmao
Having completed the quest it's impressive how many things Ashikai got right and it's fun to see which things turned out different.
If the electro yaksha becomes playable, i think he’d be suitable to be a sword user. Like imagine him having 4 swords!!! Like they can just duplicate them to “adapt” like how they do with the loli squad they change the size of the weapons so they look proportional. I feel like that’d be cool
Maybe light and geo elements as well as leylines are circulating to this particular point due the accumulation of memories, negative energy, etc. Plus maybe the abyss lector is trying to channel the light energy to break something free (an ancient slumbering god).
the black aura around the hilichurls also reminds me of the one around the miners who were mind-controlled by azhdaha who was in the form of a young girl (spoilers for zhongli’s second story quest).

I might be wrong on this one but I think Ayato/Yashiro commision is the one hosting the festival and invited celebrities from around Teyvat. At least that's what it says on the 2.6 preview site.

At the end with the underwater and light thingy happening, what if that's under the hidden isle? since it's close to the surface, has shown to have ruins beneath it and has light reaching through the cracks. Maybe the abyss/twin is trying to reverse the time since it's the isle for the god of time and that is why Dain is being effected by it too. The chasm could be another fetch quest or lead to the underground where we'll be able to get to underneath the hidden isle.
this might be a bit far fetched, but who knows!
I think we may not come across sin-shades...with that name. Maybe it is just me, but I find it highly suspicious that all the naturally occurring Sin Shades(aka humans didn't directly cause them) we came across gave us or brought us closer to more info which shined light on the nature of Teyvat pre-Celestia. Not only that, but the only actual sin committed realistically would be the Sin of missing the opportunity/failing to take advantage of it. This leads me to believe Istaroth deliberately chose to create "Sin Shades" which would be able to bring someone strong enough and brave enough to get closer to uncovering the real nature of the world.
I think for any pre-Celestia ruins will contain shades deliberately chosen by Istaroth to guide the Traveler to the truth. We already know that Istaroth seems to have an ongoing investment in the world of Teyvat even after being forgotten. To the point she was willing to help send a seed back in time to god knows when to save a country she never visited. So to me I think this means that even if we don't see her physically come back, we are going to see her try to help and guide those who can do what she cannot, which is resist Celestia. We already know gods can and do frequently have lingering wills, I would suspect that her being a shade of the Primordial One that might mean she is dead but not perma-dead.
To explain why I say that, in some mythologies, and for this case specifically Egyptian Myth...gods can be brought back to life if reassembled. Osiris and Ra being a prime example, both died or regularly die and are resurrected. I reference Egypt since...well one my memory is bad and the most common known one of gods being reborn comes from Egypt. Though beyond that Istaroth is almost absolutely connected Astaroth and Ishtar just from the name alone(not to mention powers and Istaroth being a woman)...but they also have a connection to Egypt in the form of Astarte. Astarte being the most likely if not flat out-confirmed origin for Astaroth, and Ishtar and Astarte are considered to be the same goddess with the main difference being culture. And while yes Astarte is more connected to West Asia and Egypt...well the very next country we are getting is exactly that. Not to mention Astarte is the origin for Aphrodite, and thus would explain how Istaroth would be a goddess for a Greek civilization.
Though, I do think Pre-Celestia Teyvat was an multicultural country which would help explain how an ancient Greek culture ruin is somehow right underneath a currently Japanese culture. There most likely was an forced separation of the Cultures which formed into the Seven Nations. Though I do want to avoid this becoming a Thesis so I'll stop there.

v X.1 - conclusion of archon quest storyline
v X.2 - new area with lore subplot
v X.3 - filler story arc
v X.4 - festival arc
v X.5 - archon's story quest chapter II
v X.6 onwards - prologue chapters to the next archone questline, with intro to new mechanics of the next major version. Like how waveriders were introduced in 1.6 but ultimately integrated to 2.0 in Inazuma as a means of getting across the islands, so as the other puzzle mechanics.
I hope you can make a speculation video of what things in 2.6, 2.7, etc will be part of 3.0

That thing over the traveler's head in 32:20 seems like it's nothing about the traveler at all, but the place we are. Look close just a few seconds after that shot when the camera angle show's Dainsleif foot, you'll see another one of those things right behind the abyss lector. Also when you see some hilichurls and Shadowy Husk dyzzing, there is a big portal in the right that seems exactly the same thing, glowing some golden aura. So all those things are probably portals, or ingame mechanisms for the quest.
Also to mention, that place is also upside down ruins, they are probably inside the "upside down city" Paimon mentions. But that watery effect really is strange.
Oh, also. Those ruins have Enkanomiya architecture ;)
They even have the Enkanomiya statues upside down, holding something red/orange.
I’ve honestly thought for a small while that the husks are what happened to the guards of Khaenri’ah that didn’t get the chance(?) to maintain their consciousness, leaving a ‘husk’ with only a faint memory of their original purpose (which was protecting the people.) As for why might Dain looks like a normal human… I guess it has to do with his “immortality” and how it made him unable to loose that ‘humanity’ completely? No idea.

The mushroom analysis blew my freakin mind. It makes so much sense that the various ley lines (light lines, human ley lines, and dark lines) could be various Networks of some sort.. similar to a giant fungal network. Really glad you brought that up!
The under water part actually looks kind of like it is also under the Irmunshroom thing because the liquid looks like a washed out version of its cap, and because it kind of looks like the shroom is on an island

When you mentioned the light coming through the water at the end, what I was reminded most of is the room with the perpetual mechanical array, the underground ruins in tsurumi and the hydro boss room in watatsumi. All three of them are underwater, yet have these openings in the ceiling with light coming out of them, that too with absolutely no sign of any such thing at the surface. This just unfortunately might be one of those events.
And yes, I did try to go up through those openings but there's an invisible wall keeping you in.(that's two hours of my life I won't get back)

if I recall there are aton of gates around the map that are basically facing towards the spiral abyss gate in mondstadt, the one that kinda got the attention of people and is the most obvious is the one in araumi at the cliffs edge so who knows might be related to the portal network
26:26 yeah mention bout mushrooms network, i've watch a documentary talking bout it. they do connect trees in the forest and also provide nutrient through the ground, which also affect how some trees doesn't fight for sunlight and it works like telephone line they can communicate with other trees. it interesting mushrooms does have big role keeping a forest don't get overly crowded (maybe).
so if apply same logic we can guess the ley line going wonkers now cuz the abyss is disturbing the flow or maybe some other threat messing with the flow. it be nice thought maybe those trees in domains are dried up mushroom roots. kinda sad to think though.
One more thing to support the whole blue-and-gold thing: The Ley Line outcroppings come in Blue and Gold.

Looking at the 7 sided seal/portal, I thought of the spirals of cubical rock leading down/up to the seal were sort of like the a Geo version of the Sustainer's powers. It reminded me of that red trailer about Khaenri'ah.
Someone may have pointed this out already, but I think it's basically been confirmed that Dainsleif's connection is with the Husks rather than the abyss lectors. In the description/lore (from Honey Impact) for the Black Serpent Knight: Windcutter it says this
"A guard of some standing in the court, sundering the foes of the nation's rulers using a sword art known as 'Truthseeker.'
The Twilight Sword was once one of their number. That realm's glory has been extinguished, never again to be reclaimed."
Also part of the Shadowy Husk: Defender description says "All shall decay in the end, and this is all that is left of the Black Serpent Knights amidst the merciless march of their sins, curses, and time itself." One of the other Husk's description seems to indicate that they were all part of the royal guard of an "underground nation" so I think it checks out? In any case, this is all SO interesting and I'm so excited!! Thank you for making these videos that break everything down so clearly it makes my lore-loving heart very happy 😊🥰
The abyss portals being ‘rifts’ would make sense, after all, gold’s rift hounds do have that same word in their name (and the rift hounds in the description are said to open up portals or rifts for other enemies) if we think of built portals (spiral abyss) and time holes as ‘naturally’ stabilized ways to travel through space time, then the portals the abyss creatures can create could be damaging space time. I dunno. Just a mini theory. Also, interesting how the rocks near the seal have such a… CUBED texture
just noticed when u finish a domain and go to the tree light flows like in the trailer in to you before u get the rewards
additional note: the light/geo thingy going inside the chasm might also be ley line energy since the irminsul trees are connected to them!

He also speculates that it may be the source of all the rare ore deposits in the mine.
I think that in the billboard in front of the ministry of affairs it talks about sealing the Chasm.

The mushroom tree in the trailer its own branches reminds me of that small item the abyssal mage drop when you defeat them and it does have some connections to the Leyline that we defend in some quest if I'm not mistaken and if I heard you right~, you said Azhdaha was recovering there near the chasm when the mining was bothering his healing~ could this be in one line of connections~? The abyssal mage have been around using the white tree branches thingy to keep up their magic strong~ so this tell me more about the one mushroom tree in the chasm area~ not to forget those ones are needed to level up some weapons~
I'm sad now, an actual domain arena in the overworld sounds like a really cool detail for some reason.
I sometimes stare at the areas outside of domain arenas and wish I could go and explore them. Granted, they're not very detailed as a consequence of being areas you're not supposed to go to, but they just look awesome. XD.

Also the thing about the area with the light flowing around them (narukami island, the skyfrost nail, etc) they all seem to for the most part have floating rocks or pieces of land around them, and in Narukami island you also know for a fact that the tree is a result of a lot of time mix up thing from ei's second story quest and I ALSO suspected for a while that the reason we were able to raise the skyfrost nail at all was because we slightly reversed time? It wasn't a theory which much basis just something yhat struck me so there's that. Where there's light flowing around there seems to be floating rocks and/or correlations with time.
It also seems like at the ending bit we're not just underwater everything looks flipped. So was it that this place was kind of like monstadt and built on an island over water and then....Flipped? It just looks off it doesn't seem right
If it's a fungal network that kinda strengthens the memories carried in the ley lines concept too 🤯

also about the irminsul trees, i think its appearance varies on where it is rooted/planted. just observation. so it can look like mushroom in chasm, then the tree in narukami shrine has a shape of a fox, etc, or it could look just like an ordinary tree.
There is an irminsul tree in the chasm underground, north east on the map, in a cave covered with that level 2 dark mud barrier. Paimon prompts us upon seeing it.
