For me personally, I like one that isn't so jealous. Some of these ladies take it way too far. I've always followed the - Look but don't stare rule. I shut one down once that tried that old trick question - "Do you think SHE'S pretty?". I replied "Yes, she is". When she got mad, I replied "You knew she was, and that's why you asked me. Would you prefer I lie to you? Why didn't you ask me about that fat one over there?". Silence...

Damn. I made a lot of mistakes like this. I put her on an allowance, and eventually she had me paying the whole family an allowance. It started off just little bits at a time - "oh my sister needs a medical checkup", "oh my aunt's dog needs an x-ray", "oh my uncle's motorbike broke", and then eventually she was like "hey why don't you just set up a direct monthly deposit to their accounts so they don't have to bother you for help all the time" and stupidly I thought this was a good idea. Damn, I was running a whole payroll out there. Careful bros, these Filipinas can be extremely convincing. I won't make that mistake again.

Not accepting money from the foreign guy isn't necessarily a green flag. Theres something called the "Long Con". They know foreigners trade stories.

@JasperinthePhilippines no really. The smarter filipinas know the foreigner will get accusations from loved ones back home saying "its all about money, shes playing you". If she can avoid asking for short term money, and play along, she can often get that fool for a house or a car or college support. Asking for money is a red flag, but the absence of that behavior doesn't always equal a green flag.

I stand by what I said before. The fruit quality in the Philippines outside of Davao city is extremely low compared to mainland Southeast Asia. That is the main reason why I won’t live in Manila long term. I want my diet to be mainly fruit sir. Most of the fruit here in manila is imported from other countries sir.
