Happy Dareklausmas! This was fantastic. Thanks for having me take part, you’ve done a fantastic job with the channel this year and I hope 2022 brings a lot of great things your way, my dude!
Thanks so much for the kind words Matt, it's always a pleasure working with you! It's been really fun collaborating and connecting with fellow ComicTubers this year, and I can't wait to get back to it in 2022! (also, we've gotta trademark Dareklausmas.)
Your voice came on, and I was like, oooh, I know that one! Just got this for Christmas and it’s soooo good. Will definitely need to get the other books too!
I’m gonna have to check out this story as soon as I can!! Morrison is one of my favorite writers of all time so there’s no way I’m missing out on something written by them
I'd highly recommend it. As someone who's just recently gotten into Morrison's work, I think Klaus is both a great jumping on point but also a great coda to all of their stories. It's definitely less meta and genre-bending, but it still feels like Grant through and through.
Hey, great video, dude! Been waiting a long time for this one! Grant and Dan have made something truly special here and the idea of making Santa Claus into an immortal superhero is just inspiring! I don't think there will ever be another iteration of Santa Claus as cool as this one! I can't wait to add this to my collection and I look forward to your next video! Happy Holidays! 🎄🌟🎁☃🦌🎅
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it! I'm right there with you, leave it to Grant to make something as weird as "superhero santa" totally work haha Happy Holidays!
This is Morrison at his superhero best you have to put Klaus along with his takes on Superman and his runs on Batman Doom patrol animal man and new x men as master superhero storytelling.
Glad you liked it! Klaus has definitely shot to the top of my list, but I also like Batman: Noel a lot too. I actually made a video on that last year, and I think Owen Likes Comics just dropped his own video on it!
@@ForEveryKindofGeek I saw it. Batman Noel is my favorite Christmas comic and it might be my favorite Batman comic of all time. Your video on it was also excellent.
I'll admit, I've never been that much of a fan of Morrison's work. Even All Star Superman, a book touted as one of my favorite character's best stories I thought was just okay, not even coming close to the immense hype fans had built upon it over the years. But this book actually catches my interest. It sounds a bit strange and out there (I mean it's Santa Claus: Year One for Pete's sake), but compared to a lot of their other works, this is probably the closest to normal Morrison has done.
That's fair, I do think that Morrison's work is a bit of an acquired taste. It's even something that they've commented on, with them working to make Klaus a story that's more universal and accessible. I see it as the perfect stepping stone to their other works, it still draws on a lot of genre-bending and meta tropes but it's never too showy about it.

Cool book. Nice art. It was violent but he was too nice. Wish it was b darker. Wolves instead of reindeer. Pure comic.
Just another male view by a male writer and a male artist of a male character. 🙄
I don’t know if this is a joke or not, but Grant Morrison is non-binary, and has identified as such for some time.
