Randy Rhoads grave is on my bucket list of places to visit! As good as he was at such a young age there’s no doubt he would’ve been the greatest guitar player that ever lived. I was fortunate enough to hangout with his brother and sister, very nice people! Thank you for covering Randy!
Color near the cemetery he's in he's not really in the mosque near the front entrance he's in a family mosque in one of the buildings on Eastside cemetery towards the middle they had to make a decoy because people were disturbing his grave which is next to his grandparents and mother and his unmarked when I was a kid I was a teenager lived in the city where he was buried not too long after he was laid to rest vandals broke into his grave and stole his guitar he was buried with they had to relocate so that's just a decoy
I never knew the full story of Randy's death, and I was only five when Swede died and never knew about him until now. Thank you for sharing these tragic stories, it really helps keep their memories alive.
I really appreciate your time watching our videos. I think history is very important to remember because we learn so much from past mistakes and past successes but also because history explains how we come to be.
@@jbenziggy I feel the exact same way, Jeff. I follow your channel closely (as I grew up on the West Coast in Las Vegas) and just absolutely love history as a whole. As I've always heard it (mostly from my parents) that "Those who ignore the past, are certainly doomed to repeat it and exists for us to learn from no matter what the subject matter". As I get older, I find this to be very true. Thank You for doing what you and Sarah do, I greatly appreciate you both very much and as long as you two make these videos, I'll continue to watch and support your endeavors!!!!
@@play4u67 I spent the first 31 years living between Southern California and the Yosemite area. The past 23 years I've lived in the Las Vegas area. I bet we pounded the same dirt here in Las Vegas.
I remember that race very well. We watch the race all the time really listen to it back then it wasn’t televised to later. We saw the wreck on the news at night
That was dreadful way for Rhoads to end his life.,he was scared of flying so trusted that man, as did the. Lady. A real tragedy as he sounds to have had an awful lot more talent to share with the world. God bless him 🙏🙏🙏
I watched Indy 500 with my Dad every year. He was a CHP officer and enforced speed laws but LOVED car racing! He passed on his love of NASCAR to my youngest son. My son was hospitalized several times as a child, but he occupied himself with racing! It was a great distraction from all the illness he endured.
I saw Randy Rhodes final performance here in Knoxville Tennessee at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. Will never forget it. I was 18 then, now I'm 57. All those years and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Rest in peace Randy and Thank you for all the amazing memories. 🙏🏻
Happy Sunday! I'm a huge Randy fan since way back. Thanks for this (*and all) episode! Cheers! There's so much to learn about Randy. He'd offer lessons during the tour. He'd appear on local radio stations and let fans know where they could meet him and get a lesson. If I ever find a time machine, one thing I'll do is keep a few guitarists from getting on airplanes.
Love and eternal peace to Randy, and his mom. Randy is still a hugh influence on musicians worldwide. It's great to see the younger generation honoring him and keeping his spirit alive! I'm grateful I got a chance to see him w Ozzy in Dec '81! At the Cow Palace, SF Thanks so much for the vlog!
Randy Rhoads was way ahead of his time🎸😃In my opinion Ozzy Osbourne's solo career would not have been successful without Randy😁He was a legend, I cried the day he died😭That crash with Swede Savage was horrible😫May they both R.I.P.🙏🏻Thank you for this👍🏻ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
Thank you for sharing the story about Swede Savage. I have been to the 500 26 times and just returned from the race yesterday in same corner Swede crashed in, turn 4. It was a miracle he lived through the wreck itself. RIP Swede!
Randy Rhoads was like a bright comet that burst onto the scene and his presence brought an almost magic quality to whatever he touched.. and it seems as soon as he lit up the room..he was just as quickly gone , with everyone shaking their heads in disbelief wondering why the room remained a little darker after he left. And all these years later he is still adored, admired and held up as guitar royalty. Such a short career (Ozzy-Quiet Riot), but it has forever left it's mark in music history. Ozzy may well have never gotten to the place he rose to without Randy, Ozzy is known for having good guitarists but of course none could ever equal the magic of Randy...
I Attended the Indy 500 from 1981 at the age of 14 days old to 1998. We always had seats at the middle of turn 4 . you could always see the impact on the wall where his car had hit until they installed the "Softer" barriers around 1997. My Grandpa would tell me the story of Suede Savage and How they watched him in the car while it was burning and how horrible it was along with the Crash. And how after they pulled him from the wreck Even tho he had to be in Unimaginable pain, still lifted his arms to the crowd as to say he was okay.
I am not a Indy fan nor a hard rock fan but these two guys rose to the top in their fields. It is sad to see them meet horrible ends while still achieving that top in their fields.
Randy was beyond great, in all fields of guitar playing, his first love was classical and regardless of where he was on tour, he would seek out a special player he was informed of, so he could learn all that more. He was beyond kind, humble as heck and genuine as a human could be. There are few greats in the field of guitar playing, for me he will always be my favorite. Rudy Sarzo has mentioned some interesting insights into the plane flight, which are worth a read but too long to go into here. Tragic, both these lives were taken far too soon, may Randy and Swede both know the Glory of Gods Kingdom!
Great Video Jeff! I vaguely remember watching Swede Savage's accident when it happened on t.v.. I was in Junior High when Randy Rhoads died. Such a young man to have died. As always, you have a wonderful way that you and your wife Sarah present things. Thanks 😊!

I see this cemetery outside of my living room window from Redlands (I live on a hill). Randy's crypt is right next to the main gate so I see it coming and going each time I visit the cemetery, A homeless friend of mine told me recently that he has spent many a night with Randy sharing the joints and Jim Beam that fans leave for him. Someday Randy and I will be neighbors (actually closer to Swede's and the Earp's).

I grew up in Fontana, just west of San Bernardino. It amazes me how many famous people both from decades ago, and of more recent times are buried in San Bernardino.
Yep, lots of interesting folks buried there! Thanks for watching!
@@jbenziggy Thank you Jeff and Sara for a very interesting show. California is my home state, and you show us things that even Huell Howser didn’t show on his California’s Gold program.
Fascinating stories
Thanks much! Larry
We appreciate the view!
