Very cool of you to do a throw back of the Spawns we grew up with and to give a newer generation a sneak peek. This is my very favorite time of the year.
Oh snap, so that's where those accessories are from!! LOL I still have this figure and some of the accessories (The wolf is my fave), was my favorite Spawn figure from back in the days. I remember taking that cape off (I think I still have it), and sewing together my own cape from from old swimming trunks that I cut up, it came out perfect. I also had some neon green "play-doh" substance that I thought glowed in the dark, so I stuffed the eye sockets with it to create better eyes. To this day it was one of my first and best "customs" I ever made.
Love that you give retro Spawn so much love. Great videos that have led to some great scoes(Violator 3, Overtkill 3, and that Billy Kincaid just showed up on my doorstep a few weeks ago)! Keep up the great work!
I remember I would always see Spawn III on a lot of the advertisements and wanted it, sadly I could never find it when I was a kid. I ended up getting him off eBay and he's the center peace of my Spawn collection.

Just saw that Spawn at the LCS last Wednesday. I noticed the photo of the figure on the back didn't have the kind of silly looking big link chains. Todd really needs to take the cape and light up eyes from that one and do an update. How awesome would that figure be if he took this newest MK figure with the classic costume (needs to get rid of the right arm and leg gauntlets) and gave him light up eyes and a flip out cape? The Sam and Twitch figures were very cool at that time too, but this latest box set of them are an improvement in every way. Those are some giant mitts Twitch has, lol. Could you replace those giant chains with some smaller ones like you did the Nekron figure? I think that Spawn would look bad ass with better chains, that really looks out of place to me. Cool review!
I have the first Spawn figure, somehow because I don’t think they were sold at retail in my country back then. I personally don’t like toys with intrusive gimmicks, they are fine if it don’t mess with the articulation.

God I loved this thing as a kid. Light up eyes, lil buddies, huge spring loaded cape, classic styling. Still a great toy.

I really want a classic violator. the clown fits his old image more than less, but a bulky violator just feels off to me.

I just got the special edition spawn III but it didn't come with the owl. It came with the wolf and bat but I really wanted the owl 🦉 ☹️☹️☹️☹️
