Definitely remember the show and happy days many spin offs. I did not know that dolls were made of the laverne and shirley show. I loved lenny and sqiggy. Gotta see if I can find a set of both on ebay. Thanks for a great review and the trip down memory lane. I'm a 66 baby so I saw these shows wen they first were on tv.
I used to watch these shows out of sheer boredom! When I only had access to 3 TV channels. I vaguely remember seeing these dolls and a friend had a Fonzie mego which I thought was cool. Later I remember wishing I had a Fonzie for his leather jacket so that I could use it for an Indiana Jones figure I was trying to improvise out of mego/big jim figures. This all transpired in the 80s!
Ya I used to watch the re-runs of this show in the 80's. Also I can't understand why they didn't make Squiggy much shorter than Lenny. Probably used the same body mould as Lenny to save on production costs. Neway thanx for the entertaining video. :)
This is awesome. Daivd you forgot to mention another spin off of happy days was the very forgetable Joanie Loves Chachi whch ran from 1982 to 1983. David do you have any thing associated with JLC? Thanks again for showing and telling the history of your collection. Say Hi to LPH and Flipidy sorry if i spelled his name wrong The Penny Marshal doll looks more like Phyllis Diller
I only very vaguely remember these, and while they are ugly dolls, especially that Laverne doll, by far the ugliest doll that I remember from my childhood was that original Cher doll from about this same time period Yikes! I'm pretty sure that was a Mego doll too wasn't it? Talk about wicked witch looking lol.. I used to love the show too btw, probably watched all the episodes about a dozen times, classic show happy times
R.I.P. Mort Drucker! I learned so much from his writing and illustrations growing up! ;)
His artwork was fun!
Thank you for sharing this memory .keep um coming
Thank you, I will

I've probably seen them 100 times in reruns as a kid.

See how the memories come flooding back!
Awesome
Laverne looks like she could have doubled as the Wicked Witch of the West.
I could see the laverne doll being a schoolteacher type of character I don't know why but that's how she comes across to me
I see what you mean...
I wonder if Penny & Cindy saw these. Thanks for this. Sad Michael’s the only one left.
They must have seen them at some point.

Yeah, the body molds are identical. Funny thing is that because of the larger head sculpt, Squiggy actually looks a little taller in the package!
I didn't know about these-must have been Limited
Mego made a handful of items that people aren't aware of. Most Mego collectors focus on the big name lines like Super Heroes or Planet of the Apes.
I loved that show, had Lavern & Shirley MIB but not Lenny and Squiggy.
The Lenny & Squiggy are a lot harder to find.
The faces were changed to protect the innocent.
Das German girl version of Laverne.

That's right, Joanie Love Chachi, though I had mentioned it but I guess not. No, I don't have anything associated with that show.
@@MarkFH1966 thank you i guess i missed it when he said joanie loves Chachi. Love your name by the way.

those are some REAL ugly dolls. My ToyBiz 'Aunt May' figure just got WAY better lookin.Great post !
Mego was never known for their spot on likenesses of characters!
