I have to disassemble my HU-650, not HU-850. I got stuck at removing the front plastic and whatever comes with it. It looks similar, yet different from this construction. Another guy with an HU-850 removed the front before the sides - interesting to see it can be done both ways. I will try removing the sides next like you did.
You dont need to remowe the sides. Just two screws on each side. And three little pins on top. Flat screwdriber will work. And that's it. Dont forget to take of 4 little handles.l from front panel. Bass treble and other rwo. Good luck
@@TheLeAntony Thanks for a quick reply. I replaced those with 1 watt 1ohm resistors, but it still makes clicking noise and gets loud all of a sudden even when I turn off the stereo. Buttons work fine. I can select fm, am, cd changer, but there is no sound. Just clicking sound every 5 or 10 seconds. Would you think replacing those transistors on the opposite side of resistors would fix it?
I have attempted the fix by replacing the IC controllers under the metal plate. During the process I found two pads chipped-off from the board :( I would add a jumping wire i knew where them traces connect to. Does anyone has an idea if a schematic for those boards exists? Used units are expensive and it's sure they are going to brake sooner or later

No part2? Which parts did you swap?
Front Panel lights not working on HU-850. Maybe you tried to fix it and can share how to do it.
front panel lights? lcd lights work good? mainly if i remember right there gonna be a light tube issue. i can try to fix for you.
@@TheLeAntony Only button lights does not work. It would be great if you could fix it.
Did u manage to fix the problem and how?
yes. by changing two IC on the board. but not having much time to make part 2 :D
@@TheLeAntony Did you replace two 2SD1760 transistors, or the two resistors on the opposite side?
@@paxanrus no. Those transistors good. I changed only resistors. Used two 0.25w with leads.

@@paxanrus no. Therebis a problem with sound processors. Under metal plate near those transistors

if you provide me some more info, pictures or something, i can try to help find right tracers for you, because i have some donor boards left
Cool
