Great video. Something you were spot on with in this vid was your cam placement. I imagine it is very difficult to always think of that but you seemed extra focused on making sure we could see everything we needed to see. Top work 👍🏼
The personalities of your Coaches for your u19s/Youth Teams also impact on the personalities of players on the intake and also when those players are training with those underage squads. So not just the 1st team
Good video on the topic that I most focus on in my academy intake campaigns. I wish SI would clarify the facilities we can develop. The latest SI info states that youth facilities, youth recruitment, and junior coaching all affect intakes' CA and PA, but won't break it down as to which does what. It's no longer as simple as junior coaching = CA and youth recruitment = PA. Youth Facilities is the most expensive, so I'd really like to know exactly how much benefit it gives.
Another good video. When you get a decent youngster, what is the best way to develop them? Is it literally put them in the first team, or can you bring them on maybe for 20 minutes a game and they will still develop? I think I read somewhere once that sending out on loan is not a good way of developing youth players?
Yes sub appearances are still good. Starting them is better but game time is the best thing for them. Loaning out can be really good if they already have a good personality, the team you are loaning them to has nice facilities and obviously they will be playing.
Apart from all the things you mentioned about the HoYD, do you think hiring one HoYD from the nation where you are managing (for example im managing in Portugal so hiring a portuguese HoYD) actually helps getting u better youth intakes since they will have full knowledge about that nation and most of the youngsters come from that exact nation? Hope i made my question as clear as possible! Keep up the great work with the vids and the streams!
Your question was perfectly clear Gonçalo. 👍 I was going to mention that in the video but I haven’t noticed any difference. I hired a Spanish guy last year on a German save I did and the intakes were just as good.
Well I have been playing FM every year going back to the cm days and I never knew that's what happens when you replace the HoYD, could explain why I keep getting terrible intakes most seasons hahah
my preferred formation is 4-3-3 without a DM and any wingers. i mean 3 CMs and 3 STs. in game, some 4-1-2-3 formations with 1 DM, 2 CMs, 2 wingers and 1 ST are considered 4-3-3 as well. is there a way to understand if my HoYD and i are sharing same ideology? i do not want to produce any wingers or DMs...
I don’t think there are any staff members with just a flat 433 as their preferred formation. Have to go 433 with a DM and retrain players, won’t take too long.
I am at chelsea Neil bath is my head of youth development I have won the league and UCL twice in the last three seasons but my youth intake is still shit my only good youth intake was during first season
Just the default skin but I have added backgrounds to it. I have a command on my twitch stream that has all the details if you want to pop in one night from 9pm and get it.
3:00 Why are you that surprised? Of course Someone else Had to be responsible for this while there is no Head of Youth Development in the mean time. The Default is that the Player is responsible for delegating tasks to staff members.
@@Oneathyou are missing the point of him talking about it entirely. I don’t think it’s widely known that you have to select who handles the youth intakes in the reports screen, I don’t think the majority of players even look at that screen at all. I certainly never read through it closely enough to realize that who is selected there handles the intakes.
@@slipknottin but everyone should know that you can delegate your staff to specific tasks, why do you except that this is something different here? I don't get your confusion. Just keep thinking logically, then you can't do anything wrong here at this part of the game. Not that everything is logical, at least task delegation is.

Did not know that youth facilities had 0 impact on U18s and U21s so that was fun to find out! Great vid!
Yeah it changed the game for me in a way too when I found out.
That first tip was fantastic I didn't even know that thank you very much.

That is a really hard thing to remember yeah. Thank you for noticing Scott, no one gives you a manual for any of this stuff! 😂
Never knew about the AM being the default when you sack a HYR, thanks!
Glad I could help C02!
Just found your Channel & watched a few - very good advice thanks.
Thank you for the kind comment Fumb!

Think we would all like to know exactly what does what. The forum post in the video is from an SI employee so I would go with that.

great tips. Solid pronunciation on Erzgebirge Aue 😂
Haha was it or am I sending sarcasm? 😂
NO WAY HAVE I BEEN USING MY DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL FOR YOUTH INTAKES!!!!!!!! I wanna cry. Five years into my save
Oh no haha! Hope it’s all sorted!
@@LewisH90 I’ve also found having your head of youth assigned to only the 1 task help drastically

Appreciate that Lethal! 🙏
Great video as I'm going to try a youth intake only save so know what to look out for! From a fella Yorkshireman #HTFC

Thank you Flash! 🙏
Great video I fully understand, but in my.2 years of playing FM I have never gotten a good player out my intake 😭 hope it changes this year
I hope it changes too. If you manage top teams it’s much harder to get players as good as the superstars in the first team so they won’t appear as 5*.
@@LewisH90 nah I like the lower leagues struggles lol 😆 . Jus would like one player to be atleast useful or have some potential
21:40 if I was a big club is it possible for me to poach players from smaller teams
It is but you won’t see it, your head of youth will do it in the background.
New gen intake is my favorite part of my game 😂
Same here haha!
I am at chelsea Neil bath is my head of youth development I have won the league and UCL twice in the last three seasons but my youth intake is still shit my only good youth intake was during first season
Yeah, because at Chelsea you will have elite players so a 3.5* or 4* player for you is very good, so just sign those guys up and try and develop them.
What skin do u use?
Just the default skin but I have added backgrounds to it.

Done all that, still crap intakes. Literally have perfect everything.
What’s a ‘crap’ intake? If you’re a world class team then 4* potential is very very good.
3:00 Why are you that surprised? Of course Someone else Had to be responsible for this while there is no Head of Youth Development in the mean time. The Default is that the Player is responsible for delegating tasks to staff members.
The “surprise” is that when you hire a new HOYD it doesn’t automatically put them in charge of it.
@@slipknottin its not, because you don't see that wished behavior anywhere else ingame, why should it be exactly there?
