Thank you I would like to see more like this as I am hoping to save a sulawesiana that had rot in the node. It seemed that the coco coir was kinda strangling it as the roots grew into the fibers. But I did see some white milk sap so I do have a bit of hope.

@@tfyfonnie thank you for the reply! I used to keep the hoyas in my room (25°C). Probably it was too hot for them and they lost their leaves. Also, because of the temperature the soil used to dry very often so I probably overwatered them. It is the first time I have hoyas so I don't know how to proceed now. My hoya had 3 leaves so was not very mature before loosing all the leaves. What can I do to revive it? Will changing the soil and cleaning the roots help? Should I put what is remaining from the root in a rooting compound? Any advice? Thank you!
@@mirunadamian3685 25’c isn’t hot at all, except from the high altitude Hoyas needs slightly cooler temperature, most Hoyas thrive even above 30’c. It’s better to be warmer than colder for most Hoyas. As you’ve mentioned your Hoya lost all the leaves, it could be the stem or root has rotten. The best way to save it is not to repot it, but to take cuttings from your existing plant. If there’s sap coming out from the cut, it means the cutting is still alive. Then you can either water root it or put it in a high humidity zip lock bag and pot it up:) you can check this step by step guide: ua-cam.com/video/Bx0HCsqxMVI/v-deo.html
Hi Fonnie! Thanks so much for this vid. I just discovered yesterday that I drowned my caudata 😭. She grew in pon without a reservoir. I just flushed her every couple of days. I thought to give her a reservoir but of course then suddenly the pon is wetter then normal. But then noticed the bottom leaves became flimsy.. Yesterday I checked and also found the whole root ball was rotten. I did the same as you did in your vid. Chopped of all of the roots and then stuck it into water and checked the stem for sap. Now I am worried I didn't do the right thing. Would you recommend putting it into pon with a reservoir or should I keep her in water? Thanks in advance!
Hi! I would not put an already “overwatered” stem back to pure water for re-rooting purpose. I would remove the rotten root and place the stem/ cutting to pure pon for re-rooting. In the beginning, you don’t need to water the pon very often, just water it once throughout at the beginning. For my unrooted cuttings, I place them in a zip lock bag with moderate lighting. I only water them once a week (ie. Until I see 2/3 of the top part is dry) I have actually recording a video on my hoya DIY pot set up, explaining different stage of water reservoir usage. actually you do not need to boil the used pons. Instead you can sink the pons into a peroxide solution to achieve the effect of sterilization.
Thanks for the tips! Peroxide is very expensive and difficult to find in where I live unfortunately 🙈

Watering depends on the light strength, temperate, root maturity and substrate density. Could you explain a bit more on your Hoyas with these areas?:)
