@@zanzabar4ky7 Oh, I know that before official WoW start, it went to Darnasus instead. However, Taht doesn't apply to what it actually does. So I used present thence.
Dude Terran Gregory is the GOAT, I hope that the clam is him because he's so cool and needs even MORE references to him in the game. Oh dude that could be a pointless top 10: tributes to people, or something like that. That spirit healer Koiter could be one. And the Terran 'Justice' Gregory dude in Stormwind.
Tauren hides are sturdy and keep the weather out, undead skins are slightly translucent so they are good for letting in a little light, brighten up the ambiance, yknow.
Great top 10 as always. Two things. The undead tent faces I always thought they were actually dead orcs, given the area and their proximity and the distorted features are from the orcs being dead perhaps for some time? And another wow face I always found funny were the little happy faces on Fel Lord knee guards.
One of the things Hogger will say as an response/introduction line to other characters in Heroes of the Storm is "So you help Hogger eat faces then?". Meaning some Gnoll took a pefectly edible face and stitched it into their tent! Truly a culinary faux pas if ever I've seen one
Awesome Video :D My opinion on Number 2# For me its a Ork Face and under the the gray patch there is a tauren head, its a Early 2002 model with more slim design they later moved away from it :)
Wait, that "big tank" in the Deeprun Dram is the ocean, right? One of the first things I did in Cata was to fly a straight line between IF and SW to see if they put a model of the tunnel in the overworld and being very disappointed that they forgot about it.
The story goes that originally the deeprun team was meant to connect Ironforge and Darnassus iirc. So in that original design the "aquarium" would in fact be the ocean. Sadly the tram we got in game doesn't travel under the ocean (I believe it can be sorta mapped out) so now it seems that instead it could be a lake or some other underground body of water (maybe fed from sea water?) It's fun to theorize about!
@@LinkarioConsidering that Hallowfall has a gigantic ocean with marine life BELOW Azeroth and that other parts of the area used to be a lake, with seaweed and sand still laying about, its quite possible that there is an underwater ocean or lake in the Eastern Kingdoms, too.
I think I have only stopped twice to look at the underwater area of the Deeprun Tram, and I have never noticed the faces in the clam. Great find/addition!
This is the MOST excited I have been for one of your videos in a while!! You've been wanting to do this one for a bit, and have hinted at this vid being a thing for long enough. I clicked it instantly as soon as I saw it in my recs, no thought, only faces
:( #9 reminded me of your early series of "What NPCs Are Thinking" I miss those so much they were all so hilarious...think I'm going to go rewatch all those old ones (Would love if you started that again)
Only a true wowcrendor fan will know the #9 spot was on "what npc's are thinking" back idk 10 years ago. Idk what number it was but it was one of em. STILL WAITING FOR WHAT NPCS ARE THINKING PART 7 CREN! U OWE US A PART 7!
I always thought the trees have those faces because they were twisted by the spirits that haunt the zones they're in; same with the Felwood and EP trees, but with corruption
You know what Crendor? After Hayden you're my second most favourite WoW UA-camr, keep up the very good work!! Honestly, thank you very much and also rest in peace Hayden.
I feel like whenever you see a face in a tree in this game, it's related to the night elf wisps.. I feel like the Karazhan trees used to be living wisps inside the trees that then got petrified when Karazhan got infused with demonic powers and sucked all the life from nearby areas. Karazhan area used to be full of life and magic after all
So for number one, I recommend looking up the history of Medivh's Tower, Karazhan, to get the answer to your question ;) Also, the history of Medivh is just as interesting! You can find a few videos on UA-cam about it.
Hi wowcrendor! Video idea for you. As we all know, the housing market has been crazy the last few years. How about housing in Azeroth? I’d love to see a video on the various housings of Azeroth, how much annual gold income it takes to afford to live there, and what types of jobs you speculate npcs typically have in that area
I had a hard time seeing the tree-happy faces as I saw the most inner rings as a pair of fishlips so it looked like a puffer-fish to me, but i see that big goofy Tim Burton-looking smile at the bottom now.
The other cool detail about the human faces in tents is that anyone familiar with wow export can likely tell you that what they use is the actual human textures, which you can go and edit in a program like blender which will then translate what you draw onto the actual models.
I remember the first time I noticed the faces on the gnoll tents. I was surprised, of course, even by TBC (when I started playing) folks were like "Yeah, that's old news." I probably noticed the quillboar faces, but since I don't remember for certain, I'm just going to chalk that up to something I didn't notice before. However, the faces looks more like those of ogres & it goes to their pecks.
I'm betting, knowing how they make face textures, that the gnoll/quillboar tents came from people making the first faces for WoW and going "wow, man, look at how weird these faces are stretched out on a flat surface. So creepy. I wonder if we could use that, like have the bad guys make tents outta faces." "That's pretty weird, Frank, let's do it."
#8 I’m not seeing it… seriously… what faces? It’s just a texture for the rings of a tree and they reused it on everything… If it’s supposedly purposeful, you’d think it’d be a tab more obvious….
This Episode made me wonder if the people who are working on WoW just put stuff in the game with the sole purpose of hoping it ends up in a Crendor video.
I don't see the face in the logs at number 8 at all. For stuff like that, it would be helpful to take a screenshot of it, put it into paint and draw the outline of the face. Even if it's badly, it usually gets the point across that other people can visualize it.
You should have included the Terrorguard demons. They have a face on their stomach. According to old TCG lore Dalaran academics still struggle to understand whether the face on the belly or the face on the head is the "real" face.
foe 5 & 6 - They might "just" be the corpses of the walking trees the Night Elves are so fond of... plaguelands is a bit out the way for that, but still..
It's hard to say whether the trees' appearance could be attributed to Medivh/Sargeras's influence over the region over time, the magically induced coma that affected Medivh from his teens to adulthood after protectking Llane and Lothar, or another influence that had existed during Aegwynn's time prior to Medivh simply native to Deadwind Pass Edit: I also never saw the face in the logs before now after playing since TBC, but now I will never unsee it...
Petrified means being turned into stone, think fossilization. And while trees *can* turn into fossils, I don't think the the Deadwind Pass ones are "literally petrified". At least not yet.
If you look at the mini map while at Blackchair cave you will see a face made from the ground, atleast it is so in classic, unsure if it changed at cata.
I play for 18 years, i never heard of the deeprun clam. That was awesome
It's about time, you learned where the deeprun tram goes.

You mean the ocean?
Technically, the Deeprub Tram doesn't pass through an ossean

The simple things 🤘🏻❤️
They changed this in World of Warcraft but in Warcraft 3, Illidan's glaives had panda faces on them.
Tauren hides are sturdy and keep the weather out, undead skins are slightly translucent so they are good for letting in a little light, brighten up the ambiance, yknow.

I agree with the orc tent face thing. It's just hard to discern because we associate orcs with their tusks
agree as most of the undead are actually missing a lot of their skin
I think the reason I like these Pointless Top 10s so much is they help you appreciate the small details in the game.
Poor ol' Crendor got such a bad case of the pareidolia, that even the intentional tree faces seem fake to him :')
Right? When he was doubting the Felwood trees I was just thinking, "Poor guy is starting to doubt what's literally staring him in the face!"
Top 10 wallpapers, especially in goblin buildings please! Also lots of funny ones in old inns!
With a special mention for the beaded curtain in Booty Bay, pls? 😉

8:45 maybe an ogre face? the bits below look very thick buff type body, like it was left on purpose, i can defo see pecs and shoulders in that image
This or an orc? The ears alone scream brute
It also looks like an orc face to me.
Wanted to comment that!
I see an orc face
It’s a centaur face. Matches the skin tone. Dryed out leather isn’t going to hold onto features too well though. Makes sense lore wise too.
why do they use hides with a giant mouth hole for their tent when that would let rain get everywhere they didn't even sew it closed.
Just realized I've been watching you for almost 15 years....
I've literally been watching since i was in elementary school.. Born in 99'
I never thought about it, but now that you mention it, I wonder how many hours I spend watching his videos over the years.

I can't see the faces in the Stonetalon trees at all, kinda fun how our brains perceive those patterns differently
Same! :)
The orange ring in the middle is the nose, the two lines above it are the eyes, and the darker V at the bottom is the mouth.
I see it more as like a pufferfish for some reason lol
They saw what Socal Lady Killer did

It’s an underground lake. It doesn’t hold under the ocean.

Well the Kalimdor Quillboars are related with the Scourge trying to establish there (Razorfen Downs lore etc).

There are a lot of fun purple floating rocks in netherstorm that have a pareidolia face in them.
