How about a deep dive into MISTER X written by Jaime,Gilbert, and Mario Hernandez. Designed and created by Dean Motter and published by Vortex. MISTER X had early work by many alternative artists like Seth, Shane Oakley, Bill Sienkiewicz and D'Israeli to name a few.
For a second I thought the "McFarlane buys Marvel" was real but the entire article is actually just parody stuff. I realized it as soon as I read the Nintendo and Valiant article about a "VVRV headset" collaboration lmao
That Gulacy Thunder Agents did see print, at least some of it. A hustler named George Caragonne made a deal on behalf of the owner of the property to start a new series at Harvey Comics, which imploded at the last minute because Harvey was looking for media rights. I can't recall the exact chronology, but Caragonne ended up starting Penthouse Comics and the Gulacy piece appeared in a spin-off magazine, Omni Comics. It wasn't too long afterwards that Caragonne staged a spectacular public suicide.
1. Stan Lee MUST be played by Mark Maron, hands down. 2. According to TwoMorrows, they have published a 28-page unpublished THUNDER Agents story by Gulacy as well as an unpublished story by Paris Cullins in their "THUNDER Agents Companion" Book: twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=310
You ever read VT Hamlin (mentioned in the Wizard obits)? Alley Oop was one of the most fun comics of its day, the finest time travelling caveman comic of all time.
...and now in '19 Brett Booth is the artist on the new Bloodshot series from Valiant. Love that because it sounds like something out of that '90s time period. twitter.com/Demonpuppy/status/1153494613879152642/photo/1
And that 'Badrock' is described as a 'model kit'? So did that indicate that it came in pieces, and you had to assemble and paint it yourself? All for a reasonable $105, in the mid 90s,... And along with New Mutants #87 for $60, they didn't mention that New Mutants #98 was $15!
Peter Fonda would've made a good Stan Lee & Chazz Palmentarie would be a bit tall, but still perfect for Jack Kirby. And B.J. Novak would be good for a young Kirby.
Going through these old Wizard episodes...just found a Warriors of Plasm in the local shop and flipped through it. If there ever was a comic that should have been pathos-free it's this one; with this gimmick I want endless pages of slime-soaked absurdity. Instead it was bland as hell...the ultimate sin IMO.
Jim for the win at 46:15-
" coool...that's a great shaft".
Love your work gang.
Found your channel about a week ago & have been going through all the old videos. Really enjoying the channel.

I actually had this issue. I bought at Toys R Us. Also, I love your channel. Reminds me of my pre-teen/teenage years.
That Bart Sears cover is crazy good. You guys are fuckin delusional for calling underwhelming.
29:02 Dr Fate?
I just watched the Peter David/ McFarlane debate. Peter David rocking the Ron Jeremy look. Good times.

Awesome black on black invisible logo on the jacket there😅
Brian Hibbs did move his column from CBR to the Beat

I used amberlith to do screen print back in art school, really fun to use.
Yellow hand: booster gold?
Idk, that Spawn cover looks great.
Brian Hibbs articles at Comics Beat:

I think it’s pretty plausible that Todd got the idea to buy Eclipse from that article.
So stoked on the "collestor's edition" Extreme masks??
the yellow hand could be Dr Fate!
Peter David made really good X-factor comics in the 00s as well. Some of the best X-stuff post Age of Apocalypse.
I have this one
could yellow hand be Dr.Fate's?
27:55 id Stol like seeing Larsen on Lobo
I'd still* like seeing Erik Larsen on Lobo

the yellow glove in that infamous Spawn #10 page has gotta be Vision, right?
Doctor fate

Yellow hand = Dr Strange
Is Yellow Hand Dr Strange maybe?
ahhh I think you're right, I forgot his dishwashing-glove phase, lol
I'm not understanding your mockery of Peter David.
You guys are starting to piss me off. Everytime you hip me to some new comics/artists and their works, I wind up spending a lot of money. Stop it !!!
