Part 1: • Michael Franzese on Ho...
--------
In this clip, Michael Franzese opened up about the mafia's view on homosexuality, and he revealed that it would get you killed. Michael said that openly gay members "wouldn't happen," and he went on to speak about the amount of people who cooperate after getting busted. Michael pointed out that people getting 10-15 years usually will do their time, but he stated that there are exceptions. - Розваги

Michaels face when he asked about gays 🤣
He is like "uhhhh what???"
He looked like he wanted to start laughing 😁😁
He looked like he was half about to laugh and puke.
He looked like he was offended.
He probably thought it was a dumb question. The Mafia in the 70s and 80s being inclusive about gay eights? Normal people back then were pretty closed off to it. What makes anyone think the Mafia had the "live and let live" mentality back then?

Vlads whole presumption was that there were openly gay made-men. He’s like how did you approach those situations. He does realize he’s talking about the 70s it isn’t today. That would be the most closely guarded secret someone in that world would have. Michael is even looking at him like what’re you talking about how we dealt with them, there wasn’t any, no one would just be openly gay in that life.

There was a guy from a New Jersey family that was killed under thise circumstances. Or so the story goes. I believe his name was D'Amato and I believe he was part of the Decavalcante family.
@@williamkilpatrick6821 you may be confused with Vito spatafore,, from the good ship lollipop
@@williamkilpatrick6821 Dang! When I was doing an Externship in Brooklyn (pay to be a Slave) the Boss' Secretary, Liz D'Amato, was a "Dog" who got left on the shelf. She made our lives a Living Hell! I called a month before the thing started, asked her about stuff. You know, like housing, health insurance? (I live in the Midwest.) So the B says: "There's time for that Later-we always start in August, not July." BULL. Internships, Residencies and Fellowships for physicians ALWAYS start July 1st-and, she KNEW that!
When the truth came out, I was so MAD, I wanted to quit Medicine, and stay in pre-Nursing. But, my Late Dad said, that's not Good enough for a Man to find a Wife. So-I rebelled by never settling down. I was angry because what she did interfered with my Last Fandango-a vacation before the Externship, and, after that, the three years of Residency. So, he went to Brooklyn ahead of me, to find me a place to live. Good Man.
I couldn't get after her for what she did, being her position in the place. Also, she may have been related to the Politician, and possibly The Family as well!

Vlad can make any conversation about absolutely anything turn into a conversation about homosexuality. He's obsessed. Very sus
Vlad is a freemason and the higher you go up the degrees there comes a point where you have to have sex with another masonic member.....wouldnt surprise me if he is that far up

Ha he does bring it up alot
The title with Michael's expression in the thumbnail is hilarious. 😂
I wish this clip was Franzese just saying “Woahh, next question”
People forget outside of certain large city communities pretty much nobody was out, and anyone acting or seeming gay was ostracized or rejected. Until about 30 years ago. Being gay just wasn't "a thing" as such. So obviously the mafia wasn't an exception.
Thank you for reiterrating the obvious. Everyone knows this lol.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but we need to go back to how it was 30 yrs ago
@@johnwatson8809 well, apparently not Vlad.
@@CapAnson12345 He does. That's why he asked how it would be handled. We've only seen on television shows and movies.
On the cooperating bit too, I was expecting Mike to say that part of the reason it seems like more people have cooperated than maybe actually have, is that it only takes a few people cooperating to take down a whole family. ESPECIALLY if they’re in high positions in said family.
Remember "Johnny Brasco?" A Cop was able to infiltrate them, and brought down Made guys. That is why, nowadays, you have to whack at least one person, to be Made. Perhaps someone with an early, but incurable Cancer, or Dementia, could volunteer to get whacked, so the Undercover Cop could rise to The Top, and take down a Whole Family.
Vlad's favorite question and topic....
What Vald was talking about with the "swingers bar" situation was with the new jersey mob.

VLAD ALWAYS GOT THESE QUESTIONS IN THE BAG LOLOLLOLLLLLLL
To the point!
This story was told by Sammy the Bull. They had to kill the guy because it got out. Sammy said even though the guy was supposedly straight, once that story of the orgy came out and what he did, the boss said the guy had to go
Yes the family that D'Amato belonged to was associated with the Gambino family.
Sammy’s brother in law also was a homo and a low level associate with the Gambinos. He also had to go because of that and he insulted a high ranking mobsters sister or something.
You can tell Vlad watched the Sopranos and decided to interview Mafia guys right after lmao.
Mob guys ? There a glorified crew
That smirk on his face at the beginning of the question says it all. He's like “wtf is buddy talking about”
Vlad was enquiring about Mike's availability...in a non direct way. 😂
VLAD: "FIFTEEN YEARS!??!" LOL!!!! My reaction was the same hommie!!!
Vlad is like “ah come on a gay mafia would be sooooo progressive”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sort of related, mobsters had ownership interests in gay bars. Fraternization of homosexuals in these establishments was illegal and subject to police raids, but the mobsters (primarily Genovese, I believe) could protect the patrons via police payoffs. Because of this, they ran or had interests in some of the most successful places in town, including the famous Stonewall. I'll bet they could charge a lot for a drink, too. Anyway, I'd like to see some more info on this
I have info. We had a piece of the Uganda Parlor. We talked about piano stink . We negotiated with loopin Lou the plane game
Vito was gay
In the little-watched HBO series "The Deuce" Pippilo owned Gay Bars, and worked with a Gay Man on acquiring them, or busting out the previous establishment. "They Don't BITE." I heard The Stonewall had overpriced, watered-down drinks. I'm Straight, but they were getting Screwed-LOL.
Factoid: In NYC, AIDS was sometimes called "Saint's Disease" because of The Saint, a Gay Superclub in The East Village. Men were obviously hooking up there, and getting infected. Of course, this happened at the Leather bars, too, not to mention Fire Island. A Gay Schoolteacher who partied at that beach had Kaposi Sarcoma-back in 1979(!) and Died on Christmas Day, 1980. He was about 39 years old. The epidemic was not recognized until July, 1981, and was known to be Deadly by early 1983 (the initial cases were All very Ill or Dead.) The Older patients got sick much Faster than younger ones, they had less resistance and a very high initial viral level in the blood. In that sense, the disease was like COVID. Actually, COVID--19 HAS HIV Genetic material imbedded in it.

Good for blackmailing powerful people who go there I bet.
Vito Spattifore...whatever happened there?
RIP Tony Sirico. I'm going to really miss that man.
Glad took that story about swinger clubs from the TV screen lol
John D'Amato is the ultimate example of how the mafia feels about homosexuality. Look him up if you aren't familiar.
That's who Vlad was talking about. It was a story Sammy told before.

@@amatingmind7258 he disappeared in 1992. Anthony capo claimed to have killed him

The 'gay' gangster Vlad is referring to was DeCavalcante acting boss John 'Johnny Boy' D' Amato whose girlfriend did indeed shop him for attending 'swingers' parties and engaging in homosexual conduct. I should imagine this was the inspiration for the whole 'Vito is gay' storyline in Sopranos.

The talk about gay people in mafia’s reminds me of that storyline from the Sopranos when they found out Vito was gay.
It should be like that not only in the mafia but the whole world
Making homosexuality illegal won't cure you of your gayness.
I think you are gay because your face suggests you are.
Sammy the Bull talked about the situation cause apparently he had a problem with him being killed over it. The dude's gf ousted him even though she was also at the swinger's club. However the way Sammy paints it, the person that took his place most likely used that as a way to get him out of the way, he wanted him gone but just needed a reason and that was the golden one.
Yep, Sammy has a whole video on the John D’Amato situation on his channel. I bet you Vlad doesn't even ask Sammy about it.
Immediately started thinking of The Sopranos. 😂

I’ve always liked Mike from the jump. Number one he’s named Mike like me, number two he did his time like a man like me as well. Number three there is no lying in him; he looks you dead in the eye and tells it like it is whether it’s what you wanna hear or not. Number four to this day he refuses to give names or specifics on murders or other major crimes in a manner that could get somebody indicted for an open case. Man idk bout that
That psycho rage sammy got would be the edge he need
@@GORILLA_PIMP Psycho rage doesn't make someone a better fighter. I'd argue it makes them a stupid fighter. People seem to think guys who act tough or crazy like Sammy are stronger or better fighters than quiet more reserved guys but it's just not the case. You get the quiet reserved guy mad and you see a different side of someone. They are far more in control of their emotions but that doesn't mean they aren't capable or willing to hurt someone.
@@Cardb33
It would in this case
Franzese ain't never been no fighter and now he's a reserved soft old man
And I can assure you that MY emotions gave me the edge I needed plenty of times in serious situations
@@GORILLA_PIMP Franzese doesn't talk about fighting, Sammy does, that's the difference. Michael spoke briefly about fighting in school a lot cause people teased him about his mafia dad. He's a reserved older man in great shape and a lot bigger than Sammy. Sammy is old, looks out of shape and like hell and is like 5-6 inches shorter than Michael. No doubt Michael would fold him. At that age it's more about size and how good of shape you're in as opposed to fighting skill. I can assure you your emotions weren't the edge you think they were. The louder crazier ones are often the weaker self conscious scared ones. Franzese is a confident person who controls his emotions well, that doesn't mean weak just like Sammy trying to puff his chest out and act crazy doesn't make him tough.

There was a gay member of the Jersey mob the 90s. He was wacked for it. The Sopranos which based many of their storylines on that family, "borowed" the story for the episodes about Vito.
