Nice video, Scott!
Thanks glad I caught it! When we rode this train 2 years ago it was on the train also.
Nice vid. The cvs has some pretty unique power. I would make a bet that they have some of the best track of any scenic railroad in the country.
That's an amazing sounding first gen K5LA. Almost sounds like a chessie.😊
Thanks! Their MLW Alcos are fine locomotives!
Absolutely outstanding! Thanks for the video!
Nice video, Scott! I love this unit!
Never heard a k5la on a fa before
It is pretty cool though it sounds majestic
sounds like a horn from a Amtrak aem7
Jmream2 Jmream it’s the exact same horn. They both use k5la
Thanks for watching and posting! The 800 was the loco pulling the southbound leg of the trip when we rode the train in 2011! Was a great ride and day in the park! The other time I filmed the run the 4241 was on the train but we didn't get there til they reached Akron. I like GP15s but the MLW's are what I hope to see! Maybe I will get it before it get rebuilt. Have they decided what loco will be running with the 765? Me and my wife will be making the drive for that here soon.
I could be wrong but I got old photos of b&0 800 from the 90s when it worked the short line in New freedom pa
That is the Akron station, the last stop southbound. The 765 will be leading in this shot!
Thanks!
What a sweet train and K5LA. Nice one
Yes we do! Not sure if we will go Sat or Sun but we will be there! I've scouted out my locations already!
Scott Taipale thats on loud K5LA
As always Scott, great footage!
Great video, just wondering why the other loco is on the rear?
Our MLW's are some pretty cool machines. I happen to be a volunteer trainman there myself, and love it when these older alcos, MLW's handle a train. 800 gets used alot, 4241(MLW C424) gets used some. 6771 (another MLW FPA4)also gets used some. 1420 gets used way too much in my opinion, already tired of it. 4241's due for an Ultra Low emmisions locomotive converson soon so get her like she is while you can.
That horn even looks likes a monster before you hear it!!!!
whats she doing with an ex Amtrak K5LA but still sounds good
My guess is that that K5LA is possibly of ex-B&O or C&O origin, but only the person who put the horn on 800 knows.
It is EX Chessie System
@@ArturoRailProductions That's awesome! Thank you for your response
I was very curious of this as well.
365, a former seaboard coast line Alco C420 is getting a low emmisions conversion now. I'll miss those sounds and smoke when she returns...
very nice catch thank you
The horn on that FA is NICE!!
Nathan at its best!
Scott Taipale It's a 5kla if I'm correct... Never knew any FA's had them...
It's a MILW FPA4 but I'm not sure the horn is original to that locomotive.
+ThePainTrain765 hey paintrain :D I'm making this Loco in gmod atm and btw the horn is standard for the fpa4 if you look at other videos too
Actually the FPA4s originally had Nathan M3s back when they were running with CN/VIA. The K5LAs weren't produced until 1975.
Ex-Via FPA-4 ? Montreal Locomotive Works, never mind answered my own question. Nice catch Scott !
Hi!
Would it be ok if I used some of this footage for an upcoming UA-cam video?
Great vidio! :)
Do you plan on chasing 765 down there in two weeks?
and 1822(MLW RS18u) should be back in operation in a little bit hopefully.
2:33 Sounds like amtrak nathan k5la
They haven't decided which one is with 765 this year. Im Ohio Rail Photography on Facebook, and I have a page on rrpicturearchives.
Soldier of a horn
Where was the shot at 3:33 taken?
She would have been beautiful in her original CNR green, gold and black.
Stan Schurman, yes, but the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs on track that was originally B&O so that’s why it has that paint scheme
have rode on 765 steam locomotive there nice
Lucky
It is quicker to have a loco on each end rather than run around their train.
That is not an FPA4. It is an FA3
FA2
Thanks!
Thanks!
