- This week we speak with a man who did years in Prison and tells us his story. The OG's told him what to do survive it, and he did. But, it's the things they didn't tell him that sent him to the Hole on numerous occasions, got him in many fights and forced him to save the lives of inmates who were assaulted and almost died if it weren't for him and a couple of quick thinking inmates. Niah's mic needs some adjusting, but she had some great questions. You can tell she's inexperienced in her mannerisms as an interviewer. She does have great potential. Hearing the ask how cho-mo are treated in prison. A guy I went to high-school with murdered his grandma, and when I saw someone that had gotten out of the same jail as him, I asked how they treated him. And he'd explained in jail/prison the most looked down on are cho-mo and people that kill their own family. So when I'd asked how he was treated be basically said "they made sure that he never had a good day for what he did"
I wish he would have talked about or would have been asked what it is that he is doing since being out and what he plans on doing for a living ! That would have given a clear picture of his chances of successfully moving on with life....

Great dad and daughter combo. I can't lie so I found some of it disturbing. I am very interested in the next one. Please can you give a palate cleanser in the middle? To lighten up the heaviness in the main conversation. Time stamp warning for anything graphic? Your the creators and Van you asked for input. Music opening with you both and maybe some sound effects for certain reactions? This is a great idea and I will support. Thank you both.

A friend of mine, when he got out of prison told me a story about a guy who had a problem snoring. He got beat up several times before they moved him somewhere else. I have always thought how bad that had to be on him, not being able to control something which happens while he is asleep.

Van, if that man is only young he can still have a productive, loving, giving life. I could hear the sadness in his voice at the end, which hit my mom emos. Can you let him know whatever he has done he can be redeemed, washed in the blood. I bet you already witnessed to him (ya I am a weird Christian), let him know as well that people care and there is so much love and greatness ahead for him, if he wants it. Thanks, I hope I'm not the nutbar of the community, court jester instead lol.

ROFL the questions are hysterical. You cannot compare outside rules to inside rules. Its all about respect. First thing you do is take no crap from anybody. Whip someones ass just likw he said to show your line. The chicken not on the bone is labeled not ror hyman consumption, basiic dog food.
I love your Family But honestly I wasn't impressed with this interview at all, the young man you interviewed was really hard to follow and makes sense of. Just my opinion coming from man who spent half his life behind bars, and turned it around. One thing I know Van will do is find a way to make it work. I'll keep watching knowing content will improve.

You should absolutely do it. Especially since your experience is so different. You were in so much longer. Here in Maryland, if you're ordered to less than 2 years, you don't go to prison, only jail.
