The packing tip at 9:00 is something I never would have thought of, but it makes a lot of sense! I love your chill, neutral vibes and that your tips are flexible suggestions, not one size fits all solutions. Can't wait to see more.
For my house, organizing the decorations by room works much better. That way I can decorate one room at a time, if I need to, and everything I need is in one bin. I don't need to get out 6 or 8 bins of decor. I usually put decorations in the same places every year, so that helps. I love using those clean bins for decorations bc they're easy to see thru.
I do this too! I find myself the last couple of years just doing a tree, wreath, pillow covers/blanket for the season, candle and one or 2 pieces but less things. I feel much better when it doesn’t look like the holiday exploded in my home and it still beautiful.
Thank you so much Stacy! And absolutely, yarn will work great! Anything that will stand out to you when you open the containers next year are the way to go. Hope it helps when you unpack again!
I'm wishing I hadn't taken all my decorations down the day after Christmas now! Some of the tips I use already, like using other things to put the ornaments/decor in, I use pretty gift boxes that I'd gotten gifts in previously for boxed ornaments. And tube-y boxes for round/odd shape breakable ornaments. I love the idea about tying a ribbon on things you didn't use to put be next time. And is it weird I wanna see the Barbie tree now??? Happy new year!
I love that you’re ahead of the game and you’ve already packed them up! And hopefully you’ll remember the rest next year. 😊 So about the Barbie tree…I didn’t put it up this year because time got away from me, but I will next year. My mom gave me a Barbie ornament every year when I was a kid so I’ve got a pretty epic collection!
My packing up of holiday decor is similar but you can always learn something new from another organized-ished person. Here is my squirrel question - have you ever thought about using environmental laundry detergent sheets? I have been thinking about it because of the big plastic bottles that really aren't getting recycled and for the convenience of not lugging them. Maybe you would consider sampling a few that are out there and sharing your thoughts about them?...
That’s a great suggestion! I’ve been curious about the detergent sheets and would love to give them a try. If I do, I’ll definitely share the whole process. Thank you!

That's a great idea! Especially since you put them in the same place every year. 🙌🏼

I love the idea of marking what we didn't use this year. I don't have ribbon so I will use yarn. Congratulations on starting your UA-cam journey Lela!
