- Nick Jonas has addressed his viral guitar solo incident during the ACM Awards in 2016. Nick Jonas says he blanked out during the performance and it went downhill from there, adding that he practiced extensively for the gig.

I can empathise with him, I once forgot a solo in a song after missing a note, I tried to improvise but it came out terrible. Luckily there were no cameras broadcasting that moment to the whole world.
My problem is look mate i am not expecting the steve vai of pop but you decided to play Infront of a million people he was like man all the chicks are going to be waiting behind stage to have my baby i am the steve vai of the pop world and played like nick jonas with a guitar. As a guitarist if you suck you dont leave the blues scale.
Nah bro sorry that doesn’t happen to talented people. You don’t forget how to shoot a basketball or shoot an arrow or play guitar. This is why you practice 6 hrs a day sometimes. Well, real guitarist like me like Clapton like BBKing like all the greats. This is what happens when regular ppl get put in the spot light. I don’t feel bad for him. Is the difference between Jlo and Whitney Houston.

Honestly, I think it was nerves on his part. It does happen. Admittedly, usually not always on TV, but at least Nick didn’t walk off during the performance (AXL) when that happened, and he owned it, too. I’m not the biggest Jonas Brothers fan, but I have to say that his owning his goofup is ten times more impressive than an Yngwie Malmsteen type, who only acknowledges the great performances.
At least he was actually playing live and not guitarsyncing to a laptop playing for him like most bands do today. cough cough Motley Crue.

I definitely feel for the guy. He’s not some guitar prodigy, and we all have off days. Glad he seems at peace with it and can laugh at himself.
I could never get on stage at all. I would have passed out.
Not a fan of him but I agree. It doesn't feel good for anyone to screw up live especially if you already are famous and playing in front of so many people and on television
I once walked up to the front of the stage to play a solo and my cable pulled the volume on my pedal all the way down so when I started to shred nothing came out. The singer fell to the ground laughing and I just had to laugh it off too 😂 things happen

you dont need to be a genius to correct that on the spot, just shows he doesnt know the most basic pentagonic scale 😂
At least he has the Nards to perform live and actually play an instrument instead of pre recorded auto tunes and synthesizers.. but yea practice till you can't mess up and Learn to recover
I have panic attacks if I think about the possibility of screwing up… try thinking ahead. Then I screw the song up consequently.

he knows how to play the guitar one mistake from several years ago doesnt mean he doesnt know how to play, even the best make mistakes just happened to be on live Tv instead of a Concert or on tour

@@mrcherrytitse is a music sheet player not a gutiarist is what Im getting from him. He doesnt seem like he has much skill with improvising and I believe that was a prepared solo. He played some then blanked out forgeting it and because he cant improvise he choked. Ive made mistakes soloing on the trumpet in concerts but when I was learning the art I learned that its about improvising not only when you sound good but when you mess up. He messed up and he gave up when he almost saved it before letting the note go flat and quiting.

Humans make mistakes, and sadly, we don't get to choose when they happen to us. This was unfortunate timing but should not detract from the skill he has shown before. You don't get to step on that stage without earning it. Just a tough go for Nick, and even worse when the world is so ready to make you a meme for their pleasure without considering the pain it could cause. Well, moving on and I wish him the best.

As someone who never really let loose like I wanted when playing the drums because I was too shy and feared peoples opinions, I do feel for this moment. I mean, entertaining for thw wrong reasons yeah but fuck what a shitty moment, I would not wanna take on that

From his concerts, i guess fans have heard him pkay and thought hes good. But he barely touches the strings at all according to me, its mostly his brother Kevin and the back guitarists who make it sound good. In fact, Kevin Jonas would have been better fitted to play a solo, but nick is the most famous from the band..

All musicians choke occasionally, sometimes we're lucky enough that there isn't a camera on us.
People are harsh. I mean, he isn't a known guitar player. People should just keep to themselves especially if they have never been on stage.

Therapy? He should have taken lessons and actually practiced. We all have bombed on stage before but most of us can say that going to therapy was never an option to prevent that from happening again. Practice makes you better. Therapy makes you think you’re better
Messing up guitar solo live is nothing new, even pro guitarist makes mistake but this is the internet and some people just get unlucky i guess😆
