I think in hindsight this was the best way to end the series on. Sly's entire long line of family treasure was lost forever and Dr. M was destroyed by his desire to claim his ex partner's heritage. But in the end Sly got the better deal as he discovered the greatest Treasure he could ever steel was Carmelita's heart, and thus gave up his life as a Thief to be with her. As the last Sly Cooper game by Sucker Punch this was the best note to end the series on. While I was glad at the time to get Sly Cooper Thieves in time, in hindsight Thieves on time kind of sucks now. Not only can you not buy it on PS4 and are only able to rent it with a PS Now subscription, but the game ends with Sly stranded thousands of years in the past on a (To Be Continued......) you'd think Sanzaru games would take up the helm of being the future developers of the Sly Cooper series but nope they just had to get roped into making Shitty Sonic Boom games for the 3DS leaving the Sly series high and dry on a cliffhanger. The sad thing is I don't think there will ever be another Sly Cooper game again. I doubt Sucker Punch will ever want to return to this series, or Sanzaru which is a shame as without them I don't think there's anyone left who could make another Sly Cooper game, and if they do it'll most likely be a reboot instead of a continuation. So in hindsight Thieves in Time may as well have not even existed as it left Sly in a Cliffhanger that'll never be followed up, and in hindsight it would have been better if he was just left at the ending of Sly 3 with Carmelita.

My brother and I played this last 2009 but never finished it because the CD game broke. After 11 years, he downloaded it in his PC, we played it together but he played the last half. Now, just a few minutes ago, we finally finished it. ❤️

To think that ALL of this started with a "average at best" platformer for kids which was Sly 1 (It's a great game, I still love it to this day until I die.) Then over the course of 2 sequels, it built up a such a great world of character development, twists and turns and immersion. Just bravo Sucker Punch, bravo.

After playing all three games in the Sly Collection, the fourth and final game is about admiting your trust and put your faithful ways altogether for the last adventure traveling through time and experience new methods about how there's so much to enjoy in life before you move on completely to your well earned expectations.
We need a *REAL **_SLY 4_* that doesn't flanderize characters and recycle their arcs (to say nothing of one poorly written corruption arc in particular) and not _Thieves in Time_ (which I don't consider canon for those reasons, even though I haven't played it and I intend to do so once I get a PS2 or an emulator). Its gameplay seems good but the story is trash! And Sucker Punch needs to get back at the helm, even if it's developing a new project (there's no confirmation that _Ghost of Tsushima 2_ is on the way, nor are they focusing on _Sly Cooper_ or _inFAMOUS_ stuff) and it'll take years before they reopen the _Sly Cooper_ door, they do a much better job in writing _Sly_ stories and characters than Sanzaru Games ever will (unless the latter studies up more closely)!

But lucky for me they brought out the trilogy on PS3 in HD quality!! Then completed them and got platinum trophy on each! And now they are bringing out a 4th!!! Man... I love Sly.. :D -3!

Sanzaru had no talent nor any right or knowledge to tackle a sly cooper game, and they messed it up to no one's surprise.
