    My inspector does check my EICR/EIC forms but that is only because I am registered for them. As you say there are many `electricians` out there that undertake the work or inspections (or not - remember seeing certs from flats and every property had the same readings!) The clients also need to be better informed and look for approved contractors not just the cheapest options - essentially they can easily see how much the kit costs on top of that is registration fees, insurance, calibration, ongoing training etc so alarm bells should ring if the quotes are too cheap. The focus should be quality driven for longevity through competent installers and approved and certified products.

      100% agree. The question and challenge I suppose sits with who takes that responsibility and how can repercussions be implemented, Should certain standards of safety not be met?
      Is it something that a landlords Association needs to be made aware of is it something that the IET need to set a new set of standards around?

      @@TorqueUp Estate agents are pushing for EICR on the cheap. They can see they are copy and paste from another place but they don't care.
