That’s actually a good thing so that way it won’t be easy for just anybody to unlock your phone while wearing a mask. Also every time the maskid is used, it sends a haptic vibrate to your wrist with an option to lock the iPhone with your watch just in case the unlock is unauthorized.
I think it’s for security purposes so that you won’t accidentally pay for something and what not. Also apps like online banking have to approve it just like they had to approve Apple Pay. That’s why maskid is only for unlocking the phone.

While I am not an apple user I hope you can do a vid about "right to repair" issues as that situation is contributing to the junking and landfilling of easily repaired products and the horrible environmental issues that causes. It seems apple and many other electronics giants purposely make products imposible to repair because they want to keep everyone buying new tablets and phones etc on a regular almost yearly cycle. Apple makes more money if they say your item can't be fixed when it really can be and steer you to a new "better" item. They won't sell parts to repair shops that could fix them. Apple denies everyone access to simple schematics that help diagnosing simple problems. I hope you look into this issue! Linus at Linus Tech tips recently did a great vid about this. Louis Rossman is a new york repair business owner who is spearheading positive action on this issue. Please help! Ride ride ride!

What part of its my 2 year old android phone and if it's out of warrantee and I want the usb port fixed by a private repair company. But the private repair guy says it would be easy if he could get the inexpensive controller chip that's failed but samsung goes out of its way to prevent those chips from being sold in the open market. It's like if car manufacturers put micro chips in tires and had the engine management computer prevent the engine from running if you used different tires so you had to go back to them when the tires wear out. Then they tell you those chiped tires are are our intelectual property and new tires cost 75% of what we will sell you a whole new car for so your better off buying that. There are consumer protection laws that prevent that sort of thing from happening in the auto industry and similar laws be should be extended to electronic devices. Did you know about it being impossible to replace the batteries in some in ear wireless ear buds? Those batteries are drained completely then recharged completely under average use and that shortens lithium battery life. But the earbud housing is sealed in the factory so the replacing the battery is impossible unless you destroy the housing to open it. Once one battery set dies the expensive headphones that would otherwise work are ewaste and will end up in a landfill. Consumer ends up buying the same thing repeatedly and throwing them away repeatedly. It's the consumers object and they should have the right to chose to repair it if they want.

After the recent update iOS 14.6 my phone now unlock while I have a mask on and I’ve never owned a Apple Watch 🤷🏿♂️

It works, but any app that requires Face ID still doesn't work, including Apple Pay.
