- Blair and the Zoller brothers venture south for a winter swell. Northern Baja provided a whole day of perfect surf with head high offshore barrels. We believe the Jeep in this video was caught by a wash up of waves as the tide and swell were on the rise. I believe the owners of the vehicle were attempting to launch their Jet Ski to do step offs.

Insane! Saw that foamy nose flexing hard on one left barrel Blair. Can’t help but wonder how much more you’d rip that wave w something a little firmer.
Yup wasting his time surfing those foam things ok for shories etc but in good waves he’d go so well on a regular board

I haven't been in a long time, but it feels like just south of Roasarito, Puerto Nueva etc Roping like the Power Plant.
So Mexico! Perfect conditions, hardly anyone out, and a car sitting in the lineup.

Caught the biggest/best backside shack of my life at BM, and I've surfed Pipe and Indo.
And every peak a few miles north of the border has 50-100 guys charging for it.
Careful at those beachside spots in TJ! I just heard a podcast with Ed Calderon (ex-Mexican police special forces) that said the beach neighborhoods are swarming with cartel guys. We scored K-58 a few years back, but even that felt a lil sketch

Why did Blair use a longer board for those waves?
Heavy board for high-wind conditions. Easier to paddle and won't move in the wind as much -- very difficult to catch waves like this on a smaller board.

Good example of how to know we’re NOT in an El Niño season. Full wetsuit with hoodie and booties in Mexico.
Kind of like how it hasn't been flooding all over California.

Northern Baja cold even in the summer (most of the time).
@@coldshoulder3753 All this rain and the storms are coming down from the north. El Niño comes from the south and brings warm water with it. I’d bet money you were born after 84’.
