BMW's trunk design is the best out of all cars
I ordered one a few weeks ago. 4 month build time. For me, it’s close to perfect. I had an M3. This is faster, comfy for the kids, and loaded with tech. I rarely go over 40 miles in a day so I am looking forward to full electric, vibration-free city driving. Also, it’s a torque monster. My wife threw my head back into the seat when we test drove one.

@@bryandsouza9905 I was told the wait was 6 months, but I took a slot the dealer had in the queue that didn’t have the specs locked in yet. That got me to 4 months. Yours is also the 2024 hybrid X5? Did you sign papers or put down a deposit?
Also, 2 different dealers told me 6 months. I bought from the 2nd I went to, which had one to test drive.
@@bryandsouza9905 mine is loaded (everything but self driving) but that shouldn’t change the time. The factory is just backed up. Note; I am custom ordering. Are you maybe getting one that is already allocated to the dealer?
@@flitcroftLA Yes dealer allocation , my earlier one was totaled in an accident, it my fault , now without my own car until I get my new one . The wait is really painful for me
@@bryandsouza9905 your timing is crazy… the car arrived today. I was told 6 months and it came in 6 weeks with no warning. I heard them another colustomer that the wait on an M4 convertible is 5 months, so who knows what is going on with BMW!? One surprise: no more heated and cooled cup holders in the 2024 model. BMW silently dropped them from the specs. The finance guy figured it was something like the chip shortage.

You can order it without air suspension, it should make it more “sporty”
@@wanleafagreed. I drove a 2023 45e & and a 2024 40i last week and left disappointed because I expected the steering to be fixed from the previous gen which I own. The X7 M60i on the other hand had some weight to it so it might just be a problem concerning non M sports.
BMW knows what they are doing and to who they are selling very well, and obviously people did not want a sporty feel. X5 is a luxury vehicle that people want because of the BMW badge, nothing else. Really small portion of BMW buyers actually buys it because of its driving characteristics, but rather because its a BMW. They want luxury feel, but if u really want that extreme sportiness theres always an X5M@@wanleaf

The BMW X5 continues to be the benchmark of luxury mid-size "SAVs". Considering how well(over)-engineered it is, it's worth the price.

Great review. You must turn up the tempreture from "low" to a little bit higher. Then the fan noise is not so loud. It tries to get the temp to 16 degrees Celsius when it is on Low and automatic.
Can we provide more guidance, please! I am struggling with a lot of fan noise

4:06 my 2018 X5m had same wierd shifting.. the tachometer didn’t match with the sound and the actual gear change- it was quite weird

Does it have the adaptive suspension like the M60i and X5M? Otherwise sport mode won’t make a difference in the suspension.
M60i and especially the M will be much more stiff if that’s what you want

it pulls clean 80km electric range if charged fully in summer time. Not sure how the winter is gonna play out but expecting somewhere 60km when fully charged.

I would get this exact spec save for the seat surfaces. I would get the Coffee brown leather.
Your fan speed is high because you have the temp set to low.. This automatically sets fan speed to max.
So what is the issue w the back seat cushion?

The fan speed is fixed. It was like u said but its fixed with an update i think. I had the same problem.
The ground illumination doesn’t come from the doors, it comes from under the door in the side skirt. Also aren’t you Canadian? MPH?

How much larger/wider are the X5 seats than the X3. BMW does not list this info anywhere
They seem wider 1-2 inches on each side. I just test drove them both and x5 is larger and can tell for sure.

Can you get an x40i in US with air suspension? If I choose M sport package it comes with M sport suspension. Is it possible to get air suspension instead? Also how much of a difference there is between M sport and Air suspension in terms of comfort?

funny you noticed the AC low and very low issue right away. I just gave that feedback. Looks like a software error. Low medium and high are all the same speed.
You guys make such a top quality car review videos in your own unique style. But how come you cannot beat Doug Demuro and Throttle House in terms of views?
Throttle House is in a league of their own, they do incredible work and Doug is a legend.
But we are trying! Getting the cars quickly after they are announced is key. We just aren't a big enough channel to get them first. Every subscription counts!
It takes time and TH is the gold standard right now. Nothing wrong with not being on par with the best on UA-cam. But Mike and Ian's work is in the top percentile and continues to get better. I think they'll hit 1 million subs next year

This car is really intriguing to me, 200hp from the electric motor and 300hp from a detuned Gen 3 B58 that despite being brand new has already been piggyback tuned to 500whp bone stock…
This could be something I pick up used in a few years and by then hopefully the DME is cracked for flash tuning. Could potentially be a 800hp car with just a downpipe and flash tune…that’s 150 more than the brand new hybrid XM
The air suspension is way too soft in all modes. I went for steel springs, a little less floaty but handles way better, also mines a non hybrid so the lack of batteries makes a huge difference.

It won't impact the fuel economy. It should sound better, worth it.

You said “60/40 split”. This is incorrect. The rear seats are 40/20/40. The middle pass through is a great feature for carrying longer items in the interior.

thought the air thing was just me, you have to turn auto off to get the “perfect” low setting
the low setting on auto will work when above around 72, anything lower it goes on what feels high
Pony up more $ for the 3rd row by buying a X7. Love my 2024 X5 Xdrive 40. Great MPG 27 mpg for a 6000 lb car.
