I’ve been shooting a PX4 for more than a year. I just grabbed an APX A1 yesterday. The grip is night and day difference. I had my wife hold the PX4, then the APX. She thought the APX weighed half. They weigh the same within an ounce. I shoot left so the opposite slide release is a nice welcome. I learned to shoot on iron sights but I’m happy to finally have a red dot. As for quality, Beretta is fantastic. The PX4 has about 6,000 rounds through it. The bore looks just as good as the new APX. The APX is a very popular law enforcement gun worldwide.
I've been interested for a little while finally did research and decided to pull the trigger. You look up a single review and it's the only thing you'll see in your feed for a month
I got mine recently for $299 after the $100 rebate. APX A1 Compact. To get this much value and reliability in a pistol from a 500 year old company, Beretta is just trolling the mainstream offerings that cost pretty much double the price. The testing they did on this platform is no joke. When I took it to the range for the first time, my shot placement was a bit low since I was used to Glock grip angle, but my groupings were much tighter and consistent where I didn't have to try as hard. I feel that I will naturally be better with this than my Glocks with a bit more training. Great pistol.
I also have both, and I choose the glock... My first day shooting the APX, the fastfire broke. Burris resolved it, and I got a new one, and now the power button has issues. The APX trigger goes into a grove, when pulled, that used to pinch my finger. I had to file down the groove to solve that issue. I've seen other youtube reviews of the same issue. You get more muzzle flip on the APX compared to the glock. The proper grip you should hold a pistol is a C clap hold. The 2x4 grip on the glock forces you to have a proper grip for recoil control. I like both my guns, but in a real life self defense situation, I'd be a little more comfortable relying on my Glock rather than my APX A1.
The APX so far has been a good platform for me. I haven't had to do any filing thankfully! I hope to track down an original APX as well someday to compare them. I'm not entirely sold on the fast fire and it's not because of the gun it's on I'm just used to the holosun on my G19 so I may swap it over eventually to that
@DonnieArmstrong-um7cz I think I see why you didn't need to file. You pulled the trigger high in your video. I guess it affects people who are low on the trigger pull, like I am. But I agree, the APX A1 is a really good gun. It's just the little things about it and being a new gun that leaves me a little reserved about it being my main self-defense firearm. If it was my only gun, I'd be fine with it, but since I few a few guns, it falls in about the middle of the pack for guns I'd grab first.
@r1sabotage the APX A1 is an upgrade to the APX which was in design just before the MHS trial was announced. I would like to see a more refined A2 at some point but the A1 is solid so far
I purchased the Beretta APX A1 FS and you DO NOT get the RED DOT optic included. If \you got it, please let me know how and when because it IS NOT included!!!
Mine has been an amazing addition to my collection. Fantastic firearm by all means. I also own a ton of Glocks, and while are are super reliable they do tend to leave something to be desired. If they only modernized a little, they would be selling at the top of the charts for years to come. Problem is when I look at my Glock collection and realize they are all literally the same firearm.
I’ve got the APX before the APX A1 came out. I will say, I love that gun. I did change the two springs in it to the comp springs that were offered. I don’t shoot enough to notice the difference. And I happen to carry the APX. I also own a Gen 1 Glock 19. Great gun, but I parked it in favor of the Beretta. I’ve got big hands, even with the bigger mag and collar, I still prefer the grip on the APX. I’m curious as hell about the APX A1. I get that there’s a few minor differences. Great video.
I have both the Beretta APX A1 and a Glock 19...both are amazing and I wouldn't feel at a disadvantage carrying one or the other...the Beretta does have better texture on the slide and the grip but thats small potatoes...definitely not a deal breaker...what I find humorous is how the diehard Glock fans can't except the fact that there are pistols every bit as good and in more then a few cases better then a Glock...if your handgun is durable, reliable, comfortable and you can hit what you're aiming at with it then the name on the thing is irrelevant making the one you choose over the others a personal preference based more on appearance not necessarily on performance
Where did you buy your Apx A1 with all those goodies? I know you said "Your" gun specifically, so I'm assuming off the shelf ones don't come with the sight and other goodies?
Why the Glock haters? Glocks are great guns. Point a Glock with your thumbs people say? Maybe they should train more. I mean, you should be able to shoot anything you put in your hands. Glock, sig, Beretta, s&w, h&k, cz, canik, whatever. I'm sure the apx a1 may be a good gun. I have one on order, but Glocks are super reliable, dead accurate, and the after-market for them are insane.
I’m left handed, don’t like glocks weird grip angle. They’re not as good as half the guns you just mentioned out of the box with zero upgrades. Do they work? Sure but so do man other manufacturers.
Have my A1 FS for a while and its been great. Build quality is amazing. The ONLY negative is the trigger. It should be a bit lighter. Yes it gets better over time but if it was a lb lighter it would be perfect. Fit and finish has been perfect. Show no wear after maybe 1200 rnds. I grease the rails and clean it after every range vist. Going to buy a compact version but they are not readily available here in St Louis. The price is unbeatable witht he rebate. There is an aftermarket trigger but at 200 dollars its a bit too expensive.
The one reason i got ride of my Apx A1 is the takedown. I can’t believe beretta did nothing about takedown from the first gen. Outside of that it’s nice pistol
The APX1 3” was on sale with rebate for $180. Would have picked it up for that just to have but full size I take my Glock 17. Not sure the draw at over $500 for the full size APX1. Bought the Springfield XDS mod 2 with Crimson Site for $400. Think that trumps the APX1.
The Glock makes you point with your thumb which is counter intuitive, I'm not a monkey. I will take my Beretta 92X RDO Compact any day over any Glock. Also the Beretta has metal sights, better grip. I don't need a network of accessories, I keep my guns stock. I don't want/need range toys. Now that I think about it in this "comparison" I'd opt for a BERETTA PX4 full size!
Super interested in this pistol for my first firearm. However I am having a miserable time finding a IWB Kydex holster that is either a side car or even just a separate holster to carry an additional magazine. Have you or anyone else in the comments been able to find something suitable?
I have not. First gun I recomend getting something you can easily find a holster for. Glocks, HK VP9, Some Sigs and im starting to think even Taurus could be a good first gun if you spend a good amount of time with it and know you want more guns in the future
Turns out it didn’t even matter cause good ole Taxachusettes doesn’t allow it 🤦🏻♂️ ended up picking up a S&W M&P9 2.0, but I appreciate your suggestions! 👊🏻
$550? Damn. No joke no bull$#!t, I got mine (Burris included) for $379 factoring in the $50 rebate. Killer deal considering the Glock 45 I bought doesn't shoot as well and cost about 75% more (when purchased).
Glock is going no where, the Beretta APX A1 it's been a flop in the United States. As soon as Beretta is through fulfilling existing contracts with military and police agencies, you probably see the Beretta APX and APX 1 discontinued?
I used to not be a Beretta fan boy but between the APX ARX their new AR-18 the M9 series and the 1301 tactical I'm becoming the person I used to disdain lol
I’m not a glock fan by any means but they great for what they are. So please the apex is not even close to glock level. It’s a budget gun that and should be compared to kel tec and high point
I have both the Glock and APX, two of each. The APX is a duty handgun and is for the same uses of duty as top strikerfired companies. You're literally judging guns based off price alone.
I do not like Glock never have being a 1911 user. (I know Apples to Potatoes). But my Beretta APX A1 I like to shoot not as well as my 1911s but that's my fault every round I get better. It's the gun by my bedside I trust it. Not one misfire in 500 rounds
Glock is the best handgun ever made for the price no one can change my mind because I can fix my Glock within five minutes with parts kit that beretta is a paperweight until you send it back this is why Glock wins over and over
Glock reinvented the pistol.before Glock we had heavy ass pistols that were horrible for carry.Glock is just as important as the 1911 in my opinion and they’re good guns you just have to put a few bucks into it.
Some people like glock and that's fine. But everyone needs to acknowledge 650 is TOO MUCH for what Glock offers. Poor ergos meh triggers and weird grip angles compared to most other guns on the market
weird opinion considering glocks have probably the worst out of box features of most striker fired options these days. Low bore axis is nice, but its not everything
Glock is overpriced and overhyped. Just because you're one of the first doesn't mean you'll be one of the best or even be around forever. Glock is solid but they ARE losing business to HK, FN, Canik, Beretta and others
I’ve been shooting a PX4 for more than a year. I just grabbed an APX A1 yesterday. The grip is night and day difference. I had my wife hold the PX4, then the APX. She thought the APX weighed half. I love how after a few youtubers give this the best pistol you never heard of treatment and suddenly it's everywhere
I've been interested for a little while finally did research and decided to pull the trigger. You look up a single review and it's the only thing you'll see in your feed for a month
My APX A1 is very accurate, with the new grip. Plus the trigger gets a lot lighter with use
Mine did too! It got more crisp as well but that's expected with wear in
I just got my Beretta APX Compact Tactical with a holosun red dot and an olight on it. Man I realllly love it. Best 9 I own
That just pissed me off. My A1 tactical has a threaded barrel but didn’t come with optics or the mount
You should have mentioned the $100 factory rebate until December 31. From Baretta.
I should have I didn't and I'm sorry 😅
I literally just bought the APX yesterday. Nothing was said about a $100 rebate. How do I go about getting it?

Both did well in military tests.
Indeed they did!

Just bought the same APX you have and find it a super good deal. It is well made and reliable. What else can you ask?
Not much more could be asked for tbh
Love my Apx I’m actually contemplating picking up the compact version also
Where did you buy your Apx A1 with all those goodies? I know you said "Your" gun specifically, so I'm assuming off the shelf ones don't come with the sight and other goodies?
You should have bought a box of barrel brushes that seemed to make you happiest
The compact just released, i have the full size a1 and i like it so much i think im going to get the compact as well
Why the Glock haters? Glocks are great guns. Point a Glock with your thumbs people say? Maybe they should train more. I mean, you should be able to shoot anything you put in your hands. I have the APX A1 MOS and don't like the trigger. Gonna replace it.
The Beretta comes on sale quite often that I have seen.
Beretta >Glock
Glock overprices and overhypes
SUPER.. APX A1 ❤

I've heard good things about the PX4 but I can't bring myself to get one!

I have a APX compact . Love it . And just purchased the APX A1 full size . Love it even more . Definitely wellll worth the money . Great guns
Love ‘em both.
Glock history is nothing compares to beretta of all kind of pistols......
Beretta the best handgun forever
I used to not be a Beretta fan boy but between the APX ARX their new AR-18 the M9 series and the 1301 tactical I'm becoming the person I used to disdain lol
I’m not a glock fan by any means but they great for what they are. So please the apex is not even close to glock level. It’s a budget gun that and should be compared to kel tec and high point

I bet the sights dont co witness on the apx
Does sw own beretta
No Beretta is owned by Beretta Holdings along with Burris and a couple other gun makers like Franchi Benelli and the Sako
I do not like Glock never have being a 1911 user. (I know Apples to Potatoes). But my Beretta APX A1 I like to shoot not as well as my 1911s but that's my fault every round I get better. It's the gun by my bedside I trust it. Not one misfire in 500 rounds
That's good to know!
Metal frame hammer gun for me
Glock is the best handgun ever made for the price no one can change my mind because I can fix my Glock within five minutes with parts kit that beretta is a paperweight until you send it back this is why Glock wins over and over
Glock reinvented the pistol.before Glock we had heavy ass pistols that were horrible for carry.Glock is just as important as the 1911 in my opinion and they’re good guns you just have to put a few bucks into it.
I mean the APX is a pretty simple gun and you can find all its parts online
Your going to need that mag loader
Beretta apx a1 is better then Glock beretta 500 yer istiri Glock suck?
You really don’t know much about guns.
Unlike glock the APX didn't choke in trials
Don't hate man, lets be positive to people that love firearms as we all do. The more of us the better.
Lol dosnt even stack up against a glock should have thrown a sig down than I'd take the berreta all day .
I have the APX A1 and several Glocks .Glocks are far superior
I’m what way? They have lesser features in every single way.
Trigger on this is horrible and it will never be better then glock 😂😂
Glock is overpriced and overhyped. Just because you're one of the first doesn't mean you'll be one of the best or even be around forever. Glock is solid but they ARE losing business to HK, FN, Canik, Beretta and others
actual delusion, glock triggers are known to be absurdly atrocious
@henryfisher9948 these triggers are bad. Worse even than Glock out of the box but after breakin they're cleaner for sure
Glock triggers BLOW.
