To find bliss you wandered from places to places.
Yet it was hidden so close, your sight never fell there.
You kept trying to chase illusionary dreams, thinking it will help you find it.
You left one town, you left your street and played along as life took you places. This place was sort of new and so was the sky.
Your desires grew and you worked but then you got tired of chasing things.
As you achieved things, you kept trying to build biggers better larger things.
Each desire leading to newer bolder desires, stealing any moments of rest.
Once again your chase the newer illusionary dreams thinking perhaps it will lead you to peace, the cycle continued endlessly.
There stood someone standing with his face turned around -This peaceful soul.
He possed such bliss that which you had been chasing all your life.
You said to him, it has been a long difficult tiring ride.
However I am glad, I have found you.
Aren't you bliss, you enquired.
Why is it dark here, you wondered.
Come on now, you say, lets share this boundless happiness you have, I am not all that bad, you plead with bliss.
Suddenly there was a flash of light and bliss disappeared from there.
Yet there was something in sight - a mirror.
And what you could see in that mirror- yourself.
And in that mirror, you could see bliss smiling as it says to you,
all this while I have always been in you.
You wonder, all your life you had been chasing it, yet you knew not it was in you. Bliss reads this thought of yours and says unto you -
Don't be so hard on yourself, mate.
Did you not achieve all that you were chasing all your life?
Come listen to a thing or two which I want to say to you, it continued.
In this rat-race of life most people dont recognize me.
They call me by many names but no one knows me really.
I am the much-missed -rest, in this rat-race of life.
I am right here in everyone, yet a dream for them.
Now, this is a promise with a catch.
Try now, close your eyes and look deep inside you in meditation
and this very moment you shall find me right in there.
Your life was so full of desires, my friend.
And you were so caught up with those desires so you couldn't find me.
Now cut off those desires and become light.
Don't chase me for I am right here.
I liked it so much that I translated it for folks overseas.

मुझ में मै ना मिल सका, शायद कहीं था गुम गया, मै खोजता हूं अपने ही अक्स को दूसरों के अक्स में। परछाई बन के रह गया हूं मैं अपने ही अक्स की।
क्या करू, किधर चलू, भटक गया हूं मै दिशा, कोई कहे यहां चलो, कोई कहे वहां चलो, इसी कश-म -कश में उलझ गया हूं क्या करूं।

सुकून की तलाशमें, तू फिरा इधर-उधर
था मगर जहाँ छिपा, गई नहीं वहाँ नज़र |
तू सोचता रहा यही, कि एक दिन मिलेगा वो
जब मिलेगा सब तुझे, हाँ तभी दिखेगा वो |
तू छोड आया एक शहर, तू छोड़ आया एक गली
जिंदगी के संग चला, वो जिधर-जिधर चली |
ये नयी सी थी जगह, आसमाँ भी था नया
तू उड़ा बहोत मगर, फिर ज़रा सा थक गया |
ईस उड़ान ने तुझे, था यहाँ बहोत दिया
चाहतों को पर तेरी, नया मकाम दिख गया |
तू फिर उड़ा ये सोच कर, कि जो तलब थी अबतलक
ख़त्म होगी ये वहाँ, जहाँ दिखी है एक झलक |
लंबा ये सफ़र रहा, होंसला मगर रहा
आ गया नजरमें वो, जो दूर ही से था दिखा |
एक शख्स था वहाँ, फेरे अपना मुँह खड़ा
उसके पास वो सुकून, तुझे कभी ना जो मिला |
तूने उससे ये कहा, कि रास्ता कठिन रहा
खुश मगर हुँ मैं बहोत, मुझे सुकून है मिल गया |
क्यूँ अंधेरा है यहाँ, फेरे मुँह तू क्यूँ खड़ा
चल सुकून को बाँट ले, मैं आदमी नहीं बुरा |
फिर हुई जो रोशनी, वहाँ नहीं था कोई भी
हाँ मगर था आईना, था आईने में अक्श भी |
वो अक्श था तेरा वहाँ, जो था सुकून लिये खड़ा
हसके केहने ये लगा, मैं तुझमें ही सदा रहा |
क्या वो महज जुनून था, क्या पास में सुकून था
क्यूँ मुझे खबर न थी, क्या मुझमें ही था ये कहीं |
क्यूँ खुदसे ईतना लड़ रहा, जो चाहतोंने पा लिया
अब समझ ये बात तू, जो तुझसे मैं हूँ कह रहा |
दौड़ में यहाँ सभी, मुझे नहीं तलाशते
नाम लेते है कई, ख़ाक पर है छानते |
मैं दौड़ में आराम हूँ, मैं खास ना हूँ आम हूँ
हर किसीमें हूँ बसा, मैं फिर भी सबका ख्वाब हूँ |
आँख मूंद तू अभी, अभी पड़ा है तू जहाँ
मुश्कुराके ढूँढना, मैं तुझमें भी छिपा हुआ |
जिंदगी जो थी तेरी, चाहतों में थी घिरी
तिरगिमे तू रहा, तो मैं तुझे दिखा नहीं |
तो तिरगिको काट दे, तू रोशनी को साथ ले
अब सुकून को खोज मत, है क्या सुकून ये जान ले |
फिर हुई जो रोशनी वहाँ नहीं था कोई भी
हाँ मगर था आईना, था आईने में अक्स भी
वो अक्स था तेरा वहाँ, जो था सुकून लिये खड़ा
हँसके कहने ये लगा, मैं तुझमें ही सदा रहा।।

Any possible permutation and combination of 26 letters of the English alphabet is insufficient to justify the core essence and beauty of the content of this poetry. Beyond words.
